We would give ZERO STARS!! this place is the worst place ever. Communication is terrible. Hubby had to have 3 teeth pulled (one being a front tooth) and a partial put in. The "hygienist" didn't know this even though it was in his file. He had a previous appointment where they did impression for the partial. She kept saying that he would need another appointment with another dentist there to have that part done, because the dentist for this appointment was only there to do the extractions. She was VERY rude and condescending. Only after reading his information did she see that he would be getting his front tooth partial during this appointment. During my appointment, dental work was performed and immediately identified as unsuccessful while I was still present in the office. This was acknowledged at the time, yet the office refused to re-evaluate or correct the failed work before I left. Despite this, the procedure was later billed to my insurance as successfully completed. As someone familiar with both New York State Dental Board expectations and insurance billing requirements, billing for treatment that is known to have failed raises serious ethical and compliance concerns. Additionally, I formally requested my complete patient records in September 2025. To date, I have not received them. Under New York law, patients are legally entitled to a copy of their dental records within a reasonable timeframe. This is not optional and does not require justification. My request remains unfulfilled. This review is intended to document my direct experience and to warn others to thoroughly review their treatment outcomes, insurance explanations of benefits, and ensure they receive their medical records when requested. The worst. I made an appointment for a deep cleaning and a check for infection as I have a problem with this. They did x-rays. Never told me what the x-ray showed. Dentist came in to look in my mouth, quickly flashed a flashlight past my face and that was about it. He told me I did not need a cleaning and I had no infection. He didn't even look. Unbelievable. I am due for a cleaning, so call repeatedly and can get nobody on the phone. I have dental pain and again, cannot get anyone on the phone, I go to another dentist, use up the remainder of my HSA funds, and get the cavity filled. I have dental pain again three months later. I call Wilson because I have DentaQuest, but no more $. The woman does nothing but argue with me about 1. the fact I am a patient; 2. the fact that I have essential plan/denta quest 3. the fact that I need to see someone soon due to the pain. Also, she seems to not understand much of what I say. I tell her I will come in and make an appointment at the site. She begins to tell me that is not an option. At that point I finally hung up. If I could give zero stars, I would. Wilson Dental has been the absolute worst "healthcare" experience of my life, and I genuinely question how this place is even allowed to operate. I've had braces on for YEARS (since 2022!), and was supposed to have them off already, but Wilson Dental discharged me over a missed appointment which was THEIR fault, since they had the WRONG contact info for my legal guardian (I was a minor). Now, they refuse to remove my braces or give me a retainer, even though I have multiple dental issues (wisdom teeth coming in, fillings needed) that are only getting worse BECAUSE of their refusal to finish my treatment. Don't even bother calling, nobody ever answers, appointments are randomly canceled, and reception acts like you're the problem. Every time I've tried to get help or explain THEIR mistakes, I get blamed and brushed off. Even other dentists have told me Wilson HAS to finish my treatment, but they flat-out refuse to do their job. Looking at these other reviews, it's clear I'm not the only one. This place is a joke. They ignore patients, lose paperwork, mess up insurance, and treat you like garbage if you try to advocate for yourself. If you care at all about your health, run far away from Wilson Dental. If I don't get a response THIS WEEK, I will be contacting legal aid, the health department, and anyone else who will listen. Never made it past Reception and left! Made 3 appointments due to us all needing cleanings. Daughter needed help as she just had a baby and we were told the clinic didn't want to schedule all 3 because if one cancelled they would lose 3 slots. Received a call to confirm the day prior to appointment and was told my husband was not covered by insurance. Called Insurance to confirm coverage and then left a message at dental clinic. We drove 2 hours and met my daughter in Ithaca. I was the first appointment and was told to fill out paperwork after giving my husbands insurance card as he was next appointment. I was told by reception that he was uncharted and did not have an appointment today. Manager came out to discuss that she had been in the phone for an hour with Spectrum. (IDK) I told them my husband could have my appointment. Waited a half hour and wasn't updated with anything other than they had his birthday working. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!! ZERO% STARS!! 100% unprofessional people. I called and my at was canceled as I was told that no one confirmed my appt. i was in major pain and they started work on my teeth already and had to wait 3 weeks to get to see the doctor. I drive 30 miles to get an appt as their phone center was going to make me wait another week or so AFTER they canceled my appt. Supposedly they were to confirm my appt but no one ever called me to confirm. I walked in A LOT of pain and the receptionist stated, " I cannot make an appt for you!". Well, I said, you better do something as the company that you hired to do your phone service just canceled. It took about 5 minutes of arguing with the old lady until another person came and gave me an appt. So I came to Wilson Dental out of desperation for the service needed. I need 3 fillings and a root canal. They would not schedule it in 1 appt like the Dental hygienist said they could but wanted me to divide my root canal into 3 separate visits. I was in so much pain I agreed. Towards early December my company changed my insurance and i begged the people there to get to finish before the end of the year and they said no. I paid for ALL MY SERVICES IN ADVANCED, WELL IN ADVANCE AS THEY MADE ME, I was paid in full. January came and then when I reiterated that I had new insurance. I also told the receptionist that I had new insurance back in Dec 2022 and they did not seem to care at all. So it turns out that after I paid Wilson dental what they asked for, for the whole 3 part procedures and now I will owe them another $500. They did not take my new insurance, and now they bill me another $900.00. My new insurance said that I could claim it myself and they would pay 50% of that. This is the worst place I've ever been to. First they knew my child was in foster care. They went ahead and had no problems with me bringing her in and signing papers. 2nd time it was a problem. Like who is breaking the laws? No one but them. I had permission from the courts and Cps to bring my daughter. Took her to an appointment and claimed I had to have proof she was living at home with me. She never said that. I would have brought it with me. I'm didn't want to argue and said, maybe I forgot. So I made an appointment with this dentist before reading reviews, big mistake. They tell you if your child is sick to call and reschedule, however when you call they won't reschedule you for 48 hours and they penalize you because it's not a 24 hour notice. Oh and if it happens twice they release you. They're children they can get sick randomly. Which is exactly what happened with my child. Especially with the covid surge anything can happen. If you have no other options, be sure to stand up for yourself. Some of the technicians are wonderful, but the actual doctors will literally gaslight you. I had a root canal 6 months ago and it never stopped hurting. They don't believe me that it's the same tooth hurting despite the obvious proof. They don't do things the right way either. My crown was put on and then filed down from the top, all the way down to the metal screw (which is now visible in my tooth). They don't check your bite when they fix your tooth so check it yourself and tell them to fix it. They also make appointments without your consent and threaten to drop you if you try to cancel. I received a letter about 3 weeks ago that they'd received the referral so I immediately tried to set up an appointment as time is of the essence for United Health Care to pay for braces. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE. I SCHEDULED my wisdom tooth extraction for Monday at 12pm. I sat in the waiting room for nearly two hours before being called back, after arriving 20 minutes early. This was not only me but many of the other patients in the waiting room as well. They were understaffed and overbooked. Not only this, but the ladies at the front desk were absolutely rude, disrespectful, and lied to their patients every time someone would ask how much longer until they could be seen. They told me on two different occasions that there was "one person ahead of me" and i still sat there for another hour after. Three patients canceled their appointments, one of them being an "emergency appointment" and one for an antibiotic. All three had waited for two hours at least. There is literally a sign on their front desk window that says something around the lines of "don't curse at our employees, if you think you could do a better job, you should apply for a job here." This truly should have been my first indication that I was in for something. This part is probably just me being picky, but there is a speaker in the ceiling that makes this god awful noise, CONSTANTLY. This was literally infuriating as I waited in pain for hours to get my teeth taken out. Once I was finally in the room waiting for my extraction, I waited another 15 minutes before the doctor came in to see me. I have never been one to leave a review like this anywhere, as I understand that things happen, especially in the conditions of the world today. However, this is not the fault of the patients who are in need. If Wilson Dental is in such need of employees, then stop booking half of Syracuse in one day. I can't imagine that the staff wants the patients coming in for something like a wisdom tooth extraction, feeling angry and irritable because they've spent hours waiting. I was already extremely nervous for the surgery, as all four of my wisdom teeth were extremely impacted, and I had been dealing with pain from them for months leading up to surgery. The only reason I chose Wilson Dental was the fact that they're the only place in the nearby area accepting my insurance, that wasn't booked out until mid-April. I would never ever ever recommend someone go to Wilson Dental, unless I really hated that person. Then I would tell them that Wilson Dental is a reputable place to receive dental work. I really wish I could give this place no stars. Please act like you don't see the one-star above this review. It's not really there. 0 stars. I don't like being so negative, so I would like to end the review on a positive note. The doctor and assistants for my surgery were actually very nice, and made me feel comfortable once I was in the chair and ready to be put under.
