I was so excited to try to place but I should've looked at the reviews instead of just the decor. The 2 stars are only for the pumpkin spice martini and our server everything else I was disappointed with and would give 0 stars. The martini was excellent so I was hopeful of the food. I went for brunch with my husband and a few friends. I chose French toast with a side of scrambled eggs and my husband had the chicken and waffles with eggs and a side of bacon. The eggs were super wet along with the French toast. It seemed like the kitchen was in a rush to get things out without ensuring things were done. The chicken on my husband's meal were chicken tenders that also could've been cooked longer meanwhile the bacon was cooked too long. The vibe was cool, very instagramable. The rooftop was cool and staff was ok. The server was kind but didn't write down the order. When the food came out I had gotten the wrong order. I made sure to say I had an allergy to gluten and dairy. They gave me a salad with dairy in it. I asked for the correct salad and they gave me it with the same chicken and pieces of that same salad. When I told them again they took it back and everyone else had finished by the time I got my salad. It was an ok salad but o think I am sick from it and I just left now. read more

My roommate and I came in on a Friday night after striking out on two other places nearby which had 30-45 minute wait times. There was plenty of seating available so we opted to just come here. I was a little underwhelmed, which explains why they weren't full I suppose. We opted to sit on the rooftop which is nicely decorated and very trendy for pictures, but you don't get much of a view of anything. There weren't heaters when we went and it was a touch chilly. It took a while for somebody to bring us waters and menus. I had the tuna poke nachos, and they were really good, but there is so much more tomato than poke (and since they look similar, it looks loaded with tuna but is not). I wish they were less skimpy on the tuna portions. I also had the "Screw Him" cocktail and while it was strong, I couldn't identify a single flavor. My roommate's "Disconnect" was much better. Came here 8/27 for brunch with my girlfriends to debrief about our Runway For A Cure DC fashion show that was the day before. None of us had ever been here or heard of it, but someone recommended it. It was a great recommendation. I love outdoor dining, and this was a beautiful Sunday afternoon to sit outdoors. They have 2 areas for outdoor seating a patio right outside the restaurant and an upstairs area with a bar. Very pretty with pink decor and various flowers on the railings and walls. Bottomless mimosas? Count us in! A group of 5 came here for a 2:30PM brunch and honestly it was just OK. The service was a little slow because the waiter didn't have much help for the large dining room but it was fine because we had our mimosas. The mimosas were fairly strong but they didn't taste that great. It tasted like they used a cheap champagne, cheap orange jucie, or both. The food here was also just OK. We ordered a variety of things around the table but there was no excitement while eating if that makes sense. I had the salmon benedict which was tasty but my salad wasn't that great. The service at the host stand was awesome! We waited briefly for. A table to be bussed outside. The seating area outside was super nice, but they should have warned us that if you put the table directly by the tailing where the planters were that ants would crawl continuously into your table and food. I soon figured it out and moved our table out an inch. I love a good charcuterie and cheese plate and lucky me there was one on the menu! I inquired what the meats and cheeses were (it said chefs pick) and the server didn't know and had to look it up. It was brought out with the smallest portion of bread, which seemed a bit stale in comparison to the next order of bread we were brought. Nothing on the board was explained, but dropped off. Since we're familiar with cheeses and cured meats we were able to sniff and taste our way to determining what the items were, but honestly the server should have explained it when it was served. The panzerotti was pretty bad. Several pieces didn't have cheese in them and were just the outer shell, which told me it was poorly cooked. You've gotta like Gorgonzola to appreciate this appetizer, as it was very strong. The Brussels sprouts were rather bland and several were super hard and not cooked enough. To top it off, the service (minus the hostess - who I think manages on Tuesday!) was bad... I had one water refill and that was because another server at an adjacent table noticed our glasses. I had to go inside and ask for our check with the hostess because I was literally getting antsy from sitting so long. So, between the ants, poor service, no water refills, undercooked Brussels sprouts, empty panzerotti pieces, not knowing what cheeses I was eating, and having to get up and go inside to request my check - this place got 2 stars. It made me sad, the place looked good and the specials (happy hour and daily food) looked awesome... but I just don't know if I'll go back. read more

Decided to come here for dinner on a Thursday night with my partner and we both had a really good time. There was no one inside at about 6pm, but the reason for that was everyone was upstairs on their outdoor area for happy hour. The inside was super cool though, we both came to eat and really enjoyed the food we got. I especially recommend the Tuna Poke nachos that my server had recommended. My boyfriend and I came here for the first time last night after having it on our list of rooftop bars to check out. It was the evening of Easter Sunday and we were winding down the evening, but I quickly realized this was not a place to wind down. Let me start with the positives. Thankfully we were looking to be on the rooftop because the lower levels were basically reservation only. Although there's not really a view of anything at the top, the rooftop vibes were what we were looking for. It's heated, good decor, TVs, bar, great music, and safely distanced tables. Both bartenders were friendly and helpful. Our busboy/server?? was also friendly and eager to be helpful (not sure what his name was but he had dreads) When we were ready to order food, the menu looked amazing and it was definitely a challenge to choose from. We went with the panzerotti for apps which was so good we had to order another one. We somehow narrowed down our entrees to the grilled chicken sandwich and the dive scallops. The scallops were bomb and the entire plate was healthy but flavorful. We had a great time jamming with the music and enjoying our meal. In fact, the music was so good because it's basically a club downstairs, which brings me to the negatives. While the establishment has Covid-friendly policies labeled throughout, the indoor levels are NOT Covid safe at all. I was really disappointed and shocked to see the entire first floor looking as if a pandemic doesn't exist. Aside from the staff, I couldn't find a single person with a mask on and it was clearly not being enforced. The tables are not distanced far enough away and it's just a Covid hot spot waiting to happen. Had the rooftop been the same way, we would have had to leave. I understand having a good time, I definitely miss going out, and I'm sure it's difficult to make drastic arrangements to comply with safety regulations, but the lack of safety precautions that are actually being enforced really turned me off from wanting to return until restrictions are fully lifted. Until then it doesn't appear that the safety of their employees and other patrons are a priority despite the signage at Wilson Hardware. Overall I honestly can't wait to go back when it's safer to do so. read more

Pros: tasty drinks and food. Burger was excellent as was the complimentary parfait, although I wasn't a fan of the sweet salad dressing. Cons: service! Took 18 minutes of my sitting at the table waiting for a server in the hot sun before I finally got up and asked the hostess for one. Server was disheveled and asked for the order twice even after we gave it to him the first time and he wrote it down. Maybe they just needed another server or two. Not sure. But people arriving after us were getting their food first. Perhaps things would be better if we had sat inside and weren't there on a Saturday morning? Bottomless Brunch They charge $20 for bottomless mimosas that you can make yourself, they provide you champagne and various juices (orange, hibiscus, or grapefruit) to mix with it. Honestly the hibiscus and grapefruit juices were pretty watered down and tasted similar to each other. If you have a party of over 6 people, you have to do family style and order big platters for the table. We ordered the chicken and waffles, french toast, avocado toast, and breakfast burgers. The nice thing is that it ended up coming with a lot of sides (potatoes, and fruit - pineapple, blueberries and cantaloupe). The food was pretty decent and we enjoyed everything we ordered, the platters were also very decently sized (especially the sides). I believe they even allowed us to take home the extras we didn't finish. They do have a really spacious patio area that is nice especially during the warmer season. While the food was good it wasn't spectacular especially for the price point. This ended up being the priciest bottomless brunch I've ever had, with tax and tip it came out to be ~$60 per person read more

I'll start off with the host who was super helpful and friendly. The servers were just as lovely. The place is large and, apparently, gets all clubby on Fridays. Since I'm not a club person, I was happy to be there another day during the week but I appreciated the music that was playing. We ordered quite a few drinks and were pleased with them except for the $24 drink for two which is called the bright idea. It's in a light bulb looking glass and different colored lights alternate. The drink itself was meh. The show - not worth the $24. I do enjoy their menu and how they name things like hardware. I'm easily amused like that. We got tons o' apps including wings (we did half and half) and they were just ok flavor wise. The calamari was fried well and tasted fine - nothing interesting to note. The stars were the brussels sprouts and cauliflower. If you're into those things, get them. In any case, it's a nice place to hang, grab a few little bites, and try some drinks. read more

Yesterday my friend hosted a ladies brunch at Wilson's Hardware. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. The hibiscus mimosa tasted like church wine. The omelet lacked flavor and could have used a sauce. My main concern was the service. The server frequently forgetting to bring items. Then it took almost an hour to receive the bill. I paid cash (I calculated tax and gratuity to ensure I put plenty down to cover my portion as others did as well) but didn't receive my change. I even wrote how much the total was and how much I put down to make it easy to determine the change owed back to me. The bill already included gratuity. Normally I would have left the change as an additional tip, but I wasn't given the opportunity, this is absolutely not acceptable technically it's stealing. I won't return to an establishment that allows for shady practices like this. They need to hire more wait staff, our server appeared overwhelmed, and they need to return customers change to them if gratuity is included in the check and let the customers decide if they want to give it. The Mac and cheese looked like it had been heated in the takeaway container instead of being cooked in a casserole dish. The Mac and cheese I get from soul food restaurants is solid, and can be cut into blocks. No chance of doing that with this BMC which was a bit dry. The drinks are amazing, I got the screw him and think it was one of the best drinks I've had in a long time! Salmon was good as well, just a little over cooked. We also got the brussle sprouts as an app and it was very flavorful! For brunch it's all you can eat for $35 and .25 mimosas. They give you a big glass of mimosa and the grapefruit was better in my opinion! I got the short rib hash (delicious!), deviled eggs on a biscuit (just okay), waffles (skip this and just get chicken and waffles), chicken and waffles (my favorite plate!!!), and French toast (the middle was so soft and fluffy!). My sister and I came to Wilson Hardware on a Tuesday evening for happy hour. We were interested to try the newest restaurant/bar in Clarendon! The location is prime and the decor is very fun and interesting. We choose to sit at the bar on the rooftop but we're intrigued by the various seating options available. We were at the bar for happy hour so we were able to get select drinks for $5. We tried three drinks, the permit denied, the blueprint and supply run. Each was great outright. It's very cool to see cocktails on draft (both permit denied and supply run) and awesome to have a frozen option for an evening outdoors (blueprint). The ingredients shine through each of the drinks. I wanted to try the 'screw him' signature cocktail but that wasn't on happy hour so I decided that was for another time. Our bartender Aja was attentive to us and the rest of the guests upstairs. We elected to share two small "shareables" also on happy hour. We chose the Panzerotti and Brussel Sprouts. Both came out pretty quickly with a nice size portion. We were a little surprised by the strong Gorgonzola taste in the panzerotti but still enjoyed the dish-- what's not to love about warm, toasted bread, cheese and a marinara dipping sauce. Brussel sprouts were good-- good amount of bacon, laid on a bed of great sauce and cooked well. Overall so happy to see new places coming to Clarendon that are unique to other existing options. Hope to return for dinner but also see myself enjoying their speciality drinks on several occasions. read more

I am sad to type that my experience was only ok. I tried the pan seared salmon, wild mushrooms, and the brussel sprouts. The overall service was fine and my server was super accommodating. The downsides were that my salmon was almost dried out due to overcooking. The mushrooms were just mushrooms. The one thing I truly enjoyed was the plate of brussel sprouts. They were browned well. The bacon added a tasty savoriness while the lemon aioli provided a nice, light zing to each bite. I would order them again. read more

The chicken waffle came out and the chicken was hard (fried hard) The french toast was the only thing my girlfriend and i liked. Ok, so I clearly need to explore more in NOVA. This is the best "small plate" buffet I've been to thus far. I normally don't expect much "quality" out of this style of brunch, but this exceeded my expectations. I love going out to Clarendon on the weekends to decompress after a long week and one of my favorite spots is Wilson hardware! The ambiance is amazing. Food and drinks are great with constantly new seasonal cocktails being rotated into the menu. Faris, Lindsey, and the rest of the staff, are always so welcoming. I always see them going around talking to customers making sure they're doing well. They have a huge dining room and a newly renovated rooftop bar that is open all year round and very comfortable for large parties or events too. read more
