Great experience! I have been coming here the last two years and have complete trust in the staff with their animal handling. My two dogs are always super excited to come in for their annuals and from the front staff to the vet, everyone is so friendly, caring, and gentle with them despite how rowdy they can be. They truly want what's best for your pet and don't try to push any expensive foods or extra costs on you. They also offer day and overnight boarding as well! read more

So been taking my dog here to board for a about three years now. I tried calling them Saturday at 11.15am to see if they would be open at least 5 more minutes after they close at 12:00 so I could pick him up as my plane landed late. Their machine was on indicating not taking calls anymore that day. So....as a result I ended up having to pay for Saturday night and Sunday night additionally. You have to pay for Sunday night even if you pick up your pet when they are open between 4-6 on Sunday. Which I did. And the young lady felt so bad about my experience not being able to get in touch with them to inquire. She also said they are usually there for a few minutes past 12 anyway. But how was I to know since they had already shut off the phones. Secondly my son could not see his dog before he left to go back to college Sunday since he had to leave before 4 to travel 5.5 hours. The young lady felt so bad and said she would leave a note for the office lady to call me and I may be able to be reimbursed. Three days later no call. I called this morning and one of the doctors answered. I could not get my explanation completely out before he started saying if they stayed then they've had people 30 minutes late due to traffic etc. i kept trying to address the phone before cut off 45 minutes before closing. He said "again as I said we cannot wait for customers due to not knowing they are going to be the actual 5 minutes later. He would not listen to me. He was rude and did not care at all about my situation. What is $22 refund to them? I have never asked them to wait on me to get my dog. Ever. I've been a great customer. And I have appreciated the staff I've encountered. However, due to the rude Dr who kept cutting me off and not even addressing the phone being cut off I told him I will just need to find another place for my dog. I didn't even get to ask about my dog's health because he had vomited three times since I picked him up. Onward to a new vet for boarding. Goodness forbid me for asking about the phones being turned off 45 minutes before closing to even get to talk to anyone. Bad me. read more

Dr. Rucker and his staff are fantastic. They take great care of our guys (dogs) and are always glad to see us. I'll never forget how even though they don't see rabbits, when my rabbit was dying of old age (he lived well past his life span) and I wanted advice on keeping him comfortable, Dr. Rucker agreed to see him. When he passed away during the office visit he and the staff were so kind. They're realistic, honest and just great people who love animals. read more

This was a few months ago now but just feeling like I can post. My dog was over 12 years old. She was hurt. I took her into Winchester for another opinion. They were friendly and helpful. They also were very upfront with what to expect. They didn't try to talk me into a bunch of expensive tests, they actually said it wouldn't be worth putting her through them because it would stress her out and cost a lot. Bout a week later I took her back in to have her put to sleep because she was doing worse (old age plus kidney issues plus hurt knee and no longer eating or drinking much). They were very kind and amazing. During one very hard day, they were amazing. When I get another dog, I'll be using them as my vet. read more

I wish I could leave zero stars. We have boarded with Winchester previously, but will never leave my pets with them again after this past long holiday weekend. All three came home filthy. One wasn't given her medication every day and came home with a leg injury. The other two had so much feces caked to their bottoms that they couldn't go to the bathroom. It took an hour to clean them up. To make matters worse, when I called to speak with a manager, they wouldn't even offer a credit for the boarding. Do not leave your furry family members here!! read more

When I indicated I would pick up my dog Monday, The receptionist told me that they were closed that day for a Holiday, but that I could pick him up Tuesday for no additional charge. When I picked him up on Tuesday, the bill included the Holiday. The Manager seemed not to believe I was told there would be no charge. I insisted that she honor what her employee told me and take the day off the bill or loose me as a customer. She refused, so I found a new boarding/vet that is nicer and has a cleaner facility (my dog came home with kennel cough from Winchester once and when we took him in to see the vet about it, he charged us for treatment). Bottom line, there are better choices. read more

I picked up my pet today, along with the items I left him with. They put those items in a grocery bag and I didn't think anything of it until I got home and unpacked his bag and found his items soaked with urine and feces. I was very concerned with the completely saturated soiled items. He has never went potty inside in over 6 years and never went in his kennel in boarding ever, even in a prior week long stay at Winchester. I assure you I will never use this facility again nor will I recommend it to anyone who cares for their pet and their wellbeing. We had to throw everything away that we left him with (a toy, 2 of our shirts, and a blanket - so he would feel more at ease) Nobody was friendly or even greeted us when we dropped him off, or when we picked him up. Just scowling girls who acted annoyed by their job and burdened by people and animals. . In 3 days of boarding my dog lost 3 pounds, and he is only 40 pounds total size to begin with. I am very pained that I subjected my dog to this boarding facility and the neglect he clearly faced by the staff. I have been involved with multiple animal rescues across several states for many years and the quality of care at this boarding facility within a privately owned veterinarian clinic none the less, is sub standard to even a county animal shelter based off of my own experience this week.
