I was mislead by real estate agent Stephanie Svornich when applying to rent a lease take over through Port Townsend's Windermere office. I asked her in the begging if credit would be an issue/ if I needed a co-signer. She insisted I didn't need to worry about credit/ get a cosigner. I was told to apply and that I would be screened through "orca", a third party screening service. She told me that even though I had bad credit at the moment, her office would override the rejection from Orca in Regard to credit because I have a good job, money saved etc. I feel like I was scammed by a sales person... I spent $ on the application and went through hours of filling out and gathering paperwork because I was sure I could rent the property I was looking at... Just to get rejexted by her office with NO explanation. AND I was not given the opportunity to use a cosigner.. which doesn't seem fair at all. Upon calling for an explanation for her office rejecting my application, she "couldn't legally give that information to me"..? Steer clear of misinformation. I would not trust Ever using this office again. read more

Regretfully, this agency at times condones their agents' behavior, which do not support the clients' interests and/or property rights. From my experience, the most egregious was condoning my listing agent's behavior of going into the house around 3 pm during the last day of the rent-back agreement, which ended at 9 pm, while I was in the process moving to Anacortes with the intention of hauling away everything away that the buyer did not want to the dump without my knowledge or permission. As a result, the protocol of a Final Walk Through by the selling agent was suspended and my things that were accidentally left behind or didn't fit into the truck/cars were dumped as well. My suggestion would be to find an agency that has more integrity. read more

I highly recommend Jan Garing as an upstanding, caring and efficient real estate agent. Having bought a sold a few places in my life I know to appreciate how important a good agent is and Jan Garing is top notch. Just so pleasant and engaged and, by the way, has the most beautiful blue eyes. Makes you feel like it's okay to be a little neurotic during the house hunting process. I found my dream home about a year before I was able to purchase it. At the time I first saw it it was listed for about $150k over my budget so I looked at the photos on-line obsessively but had to walk away. Over the next year my on-again off-again boyfriend sold his home and paid me back the downpayment I'd lent him (thank god!). The first thing I did was look up my dream home and I was so stunned to see that not only was it still available but it also had been dropped into my price range. I called Windemere on a weekend and Jan happened to be working. She was willing to show me the place within a couple of hours. Long story short the place was even more perfect than it looked on-line. I fell completely in love with it and Jan helped me negotiate a fair price (she can be quite aggressive!). She also recommended me to a terrific mortgage guy (Justin Vian formerly at Cherry Creek but Jan knows where he is now). I was able to get a lost 3.85 interest rate, putting 20% down. It was a little touch and go there as mortgage lenders are much more careful nowadays, and Justin Vian really came through for me. I've been in my dream home since October 2012 and it is wonderful. Jan has followed up and arrived with a lovely housewarming gift a while back and continues to be a source of great information on an area I'm new to. read more

This commendation is for "Angela Wilkinson." Angela Wilkinson can only be truly described as our "Angel" who went the extra mile to care for my parents who needed to sell their vacation home. I guess third times a charm, because we tried to sell the house through two other firms and failed until we tried for the third and final time with Windermere Real Estate's Broker, Angela Wilkinson. Not only did she sell the house, but we learned there is a "WOW" factor working with her because she is: "W"elcoming and comforting to those around her. "O"rganized, her in depth files on the property's details were impeccable. "W"illing to go the extra mile by installing extra signs, flyers, and available 7 days a week. Anyone who is looking for a Real Estate Agent who can best represent and fulfill one's real estate needs, need not look further, because "WOW," Angela Wilkinson is the one. I'm not sure how this office stays in business. I submitted a request for contact over a property for sale and got an automated response that I'd hear back within a couple of hours. It's been two days and I've heard nothing, so I had to move on and find an agent elsewhere. In this hot market there is no time to dawdle. read more

This review is for Paul Rice who works at Windermre in Port Townsend. This must be a second job for Paul because he seems distracted. He doesn't answer his phone and rarely answers voicemails. With emails its hit or miss-sometimes he answers, but I doubt he reads them, because he misses important details. Maybe he's too busy working on his next novel, or business venture. His bio/profile says he's a writer and entrepreneur before a real estate agent. This is in addition to being on the Planning Commission for Port Townsend.He got bad reviews for opening a bar (out of business) in Port Townsend that was a trouble spot, a place where fights apparently broke out and spilled out onto the street giving the area near the Rose Theater a bad reputation. I did notice this was the case when I spent the evening there trying to have a pleasant dinner with friends while I worried that my vehicle would be safe parked on the street. I was willing to let the review pass, maybe it was written by someone who had an ax to grind. But I can't believe his claims that he actually cares about making affordable housing more accessible in PT, when it seems he cares more about keeping the "riff raff" out of the choice areas in town and pushing them to less desirable areas like Brinnon and Quilcene. Listings he's sent me barely resemble what I explained were my requirements/price range. It could be that he's not an agent anymore and has given up this venture for something else, or he's on another sabbatical/"ne'er do welling". read more
