Well, maybe that is a bit biased but if you are in Perpignan and there is a game on, your trip would not be complete without visiting the Cathedral of Catalan of rugby. Join the supporters in singing l'Estaca thanks to the lyrics on the big screens. Not as impressive as when sung in Barcelona's Camp Nou but full of passion nonetheless. As in any stadium, plenty of bars and snacks to be had and even the boutique USAP should you not want to leave without branded goodies, souvenirs or jerseys. Sempre endavant, mai morirem!

L'enceinte abrite d'ailleurs un monument aux mort dédié à sa mémoire. Le club de rugby qui l'occupe, L'USAP ou Union Sportive Arlequins Perpignan, est née en 1933 de la fusion de l'Union Sportive Perpignanaise et des Arlequins.

This was a dream come true!!! Visiting the famous race track, which hosts the Formula 1 race every…read moreyear. I'm an F1 addict, and was thrilled to come here. Ok, it was not an F1 race - but the Circuit offers a fantastic all-access behind-the-scene tour. You get to see every key area that is closed off to the public: the press room (yes, you can have a pic taken in the winners' chairs!); the production room with its multitude of TVs capturing every turn and twist of the track; the massive correspondents' area, where reporters from multiple countries gather to keep the fans updated or provide live commentary (a shout-out to the Speed TV fabulous crew). You get to see the lounge for privileged guests, and then step out onto the podium, where the winners receive their trophies (again a photo op with some souvenir cups, set up for visitors). Last, but not least, you go to the "paddock" - and let your imagination run wild as to what it would feel like to be there during a race. This is a fantastic tour, with very interesting film to kick off the experience, and knowledgeable guide. The cost is only 10 Euros per person. It's a steal, and an experience of a life-time (yes, racing fans will understand what I'm talking about). And, yes, I did buy the T-shirt.
