That way, it becomes a life lesson that will stick with you for the rest of your life. He is always professional but I also consider him a friend. He was recommended to me by my health provider and I couldn't be happier. I have struggled with depression and other issues for many years. I have managed it somewhat with medication, but my issues have progressively worsened in recent years to where I needed additional help. I have also tried some counseling in the past, but personally didn't find this to be especially useful for me at the time. I've recently had some modifications of my meds, but my health provider recommended another try at counseling as well. Needless to say, I was skeptical of counseling from past experience but decided to give Lee a try. I was amazed at my experience very early on even given my general reluctance. Lee is very knowledgeable and interactive. He really is easy communicate with and has provided significant insight into how to improve my outlook on life. Each session has really helped me to find methods for dealing with myself and others in a more mindful and skillful approach. My wife and I are now also undergoing some couples counseling as well. Regarding the latter, they want credit card info typed into a PDF and emailed; there are dozens of secure invoicing and payment options out there but seems like THEY want the actual CC numbers despite how unadvisable that is anymore. I had to cancel on a same day appointment for a legit reason, and they charged full payment hours before the appointment was scheduled. Its like they're giddy to make a free buck. After I paid for a different session both me and my partner were still contacted multiple times about payment. It seems like there's a complete absence of any system of billing, tracking payment, etc. Similar to another reviewer, we paid $180, with a hard stop at 45 minutes. We stopped going, mostly due to the odd vibe of the place when it came to money. I understand it's a business, but maybe go about it in a way that feels like clients' well-being is also a goal. She can't hide her own thoughts in her facial expressions -- which seems like something a trained therapist would know how to do. I said something political in a session that must have offended her point of view because her face changed instantly. In the subsequent sessions, when I asked for her advice, she would simply say, "It's whatever you think." Over and over. I told her I really wanted her professional opinion, but I still got nothing more out of her. I did not schedule with her again. I still want a refund! :) Luckily, I now have a fantastic therapist whom I trust and who gives great advice for me to try out. I'm very happy I dropped Alyssa. My guess is that if you're a young, cute white woman, you will click just fine with her, but not if you fall into any other categories.
