Located in the heart of the pinhao valley in the Duoro, This is a tiny boutique winery started in 2001 by two experienced winemakers wanting to do their own thing. Today George and Sandra produce a collection of high quality wines and port. We stopped in for a visit and tasting (€30/pp, appointments mandatory) during our visit to the Douro valley in late September. Like all the area wineries they were busy with the harvest with grapes arriving, crushing and fermentation underway. After a nice tour of their small winery we adjourned upstairs and tasted 2 whites, 2 reds and their amazing 2017 vintage ruby port. The delicious and affordable still wines were quite enjoyable while the port (soon to be released-€70 at the winery) was a true masterpiece.
