Small space but every patron was met with such enthusiasm! I was near the front desk for about two hours.

I never even noticed it before, but it's located right by the main entrance, in a somewhat easy to miss nook (that's my official excuse anyway lol). All of the materials are donated, and they are organized and priced by volunteer staffers. All of the proceeds go to the library. I picked up a fun hard cover book on baseball humor for $4. They also had a March 1/2 price sale going on landscaping, gardening, and cookbooks. One of the grand-darlings picked up a cookbook and I paid $1 for it, and then she gifted it to grandma, duh! They also have music CD's and even some vinyl records and I'll check out the music selections on my next visit. Thumbs up!

I also loved the parenting book section and found some great books that are hard to find. All of the staff I interacted with were super friendly. I would definitely be here all the time if it was not so far away.

I'm not sure if I'd heard of The Book Stall before. I learned that the children's author Sherri…read moreDuskey Rinker, who happens to live in the suburbs, is doing story time events at several suburban bookstores to celebrate the release of her newest book. My daughter is a big fan of her Construction Site and Steam Train Dream Train series, so I was excited to bring her here for the event. We got here a little too early--about five minutes before they opened, and 35 minutes before story time--but I wanted to make sure we got a spot! The area where they hold story time was really large for an independent bookstore. After the story was over, the author personalized her signed books for the kids. I'm glad we went to this event because in addition to it being fun, we picked up several books and one of them has so quickly become a new favorite of my daughter's that she already can recite pages from it three days later. The bookstore is nice, and larger than I was expecting to be honest. It was fun to wander, even whilst trying to keep an eye on a toddler. They have various events, story time, fundraisers, and so on. I think it has the potential to be kind of a madhouse for some of their bigger events... it seemed a little unorganized getting folks in line for this signing and they don't really have a lot of space for folks to queue up so some people were cutting in front of folks so it might be kind of messy when there's a big event happening. But still, worth a stop if you like bookstores! There's lots of parking around on the street and even a municipal lot.

The Book Stall is a treasure. You can always find a great book from just browsing the shelves. If…read moreyou check their inventory on-line for a special book and it shows as being available, it will be! The author events are more than readings; they are intimate conversations. The Book Stall takes its role as an independent bookseller seriously and it does its job well. Writing this makes me want to visit again soon!

Great Schools, Great Parks and well run local government means we get a big bang for our taxation buck. Near around 50,000 residents, home to several corporate Headquarters this vibrant community welcomes all. Home to the former Naval Air Station Glenview, where Presidents Gerald Ford and George H.W. No matter how minor my question or how pleasant my tone, I have been met with unnecessary rudeness and coldness every single time. I hate to use the word "Karen" but it fits. Extremely rude women work here as admins, acting and speaking with more authority than they have, and communicating in a tone that is just uncalled for. They are strangely defensive and emotionally charged. One woman even had a "scolding" tone that she maintained for the duration of our call, even when I was only asking the most basic of questions about a permit. This is how the people who work at the village treat their residents? Shame that this is where our sky high property taxes go. So much for creating a sense of community! Do better Glenview!
