However... the customer service is by far the worse I have ever experienced. I am an avid biker, I do it cause its healthy and convenient to me. So I biked to the wine gallery in an effort to find a unique wine for my friend who is sulphite sensitive. The sales man must not like bikers or something because he got up and asked what I was looking for. I said I was looking for organic sulphite free wine. He immediately barked at me, "that doesn't exist, okay" the whole interaction was less than 30 seconds. So I just said okay and left. I am no customer service expert but wouldn't it be nice to educate me? Explain to me why that doesn't exist. If I did that in my line of work I would get fired. An art gallery that has wine? Or just a cool wine store? Finally had the chance to pop by today and it is the latter - pleased to let you know that it is the latter, and more. We were the only car in the lot when we arrived - not sure how busy the lot gets when the café next door is open. Inside is very much like an art gallery in that there are wide open spaces, the shelving is all stark white and nicely spot lit. Most of the shelves are chest-high and have wines nicely laid on them so you can easily check them out. There is a good selection of unique wines that I haven't seen elsewhere, from all over the world. There's also a decent-sized beer fridge at the back (including chilled whites and sparkling wines - we picked up a nice new Prosecco), and a wall of hard liquor (vodka, gin, scotch, etc) but also some less popular items (pisco, chartreuse, st-germain - no fernet branca or cachaça though). Prices were reasonable. One thing I really liked is that the prices listed include GST and the bottle deposit, so you get these nice round numbers and it's easy to calculate the final cost. They know their wines and their stock so they always get it right. There's a range of prices so you can specify what you are willing to spend. The store is clean and tidy and well organized. Currently during the covid-19 crisis the store is open and you can call ahead to have them prepare an order or stand in the front of the store while they gather up your selection. They are not taking cash for the time being but they accept cards. It's a good time to get a quality bottle of wine to enjoy!

For me, I enjoy specific kinds of microbrews and the huge cooler contains bottles and cans of just about every kind of beer both domestic and imported. Many of the beers are sold by the bottle, so I have been able to try out a lot of different kinds without having to buy them in multiples. There is a selection of kosher wine here, and you can also order in items not on the shelves. One time I went in here needing a corkscrew to open a bottle of wine I received as a Christmas present, and they gave me one for free! The staff here are very knowledgeable about wine and spirits, and happy to answer questions.

I was super impressed by the level of customer service I received when I came in looking for some sparking wine. The employee greeted me right away and when I told him what I was looking for, he brought me over the the section, asked questions about my preferences and offered lots of helpful suggestions. He was super knowledgeable about the products they carry. Thanks to him, what I would normally give 3 stars is bumped up to a 4. I will definitely consider this location next time I'm looking for wine.

I called up Chateau Louis Liquor Store, and they were able to answer right away that they had it. Well heck they not only had it, they had 4 different varieties of it! They also had many brands of scotch I had never seen before anywhere else. It's quick for me to get to Chateau Louis, so you bet I'll be back and I'll be a regular. Whoo-hoo!
