The last few times I went, I was completely turned off by the lack of connection my care provider showed and her less than thorough skin cancer screening. Always very quick to push medication without thorough diagnosis and moving on to the next patient. Over the years, the lobby and waiting rooms have become more plastered with posters for Botox and new cosmetic procedures, which I am sure is where the bulk of their dollars come from. While I see that as a valuable service to provide, save yourself the time and find a practice that is more professional in their approach and that shows more holistic care and investment in their time with their patients. I'm certainly looking for recommendations.

Then when asked when I'll be seen told "we will squeeze you in". This being for an appointment scheduled months in advance. Then my pharmacy repeatedly contacts them to get approval for my prescription only to have the office ignore their calls. This leaves it up to me to call the office to tel them to call th pharmacy. I was then told that I would have to wait until my physician returns from vacation. Fine, I wait. Then when I was told sh returns I call again. Only to be hung up on then repeatedly sent to voicemail. This is the most unprofessional and disorganized medical office I have ever been in my life. I'd rather deal with my cystic acne than return. My actual doctor may have been nice and treated my acne effectively, but it is not worth dealing with the rest of the office staff. Needless to say I am currently searching for any other dermatologist.

I have seen several dermatologists over the many years there, and all are great. I finally decided on Dr. Jaclyn Hess. She's very thorough and listens to concerns. She makes sure all questions are answered and she's very informative. Plus, friendly and makes the exam a comfortable experience.

So, I made an appointment for July. Couple weeks ago, I got "Time to Check IN" Checked in online a week before. NO ISSUES They wanted deductible but I decided to pay the day of the appoint. I drive 15 miles. Walk up to the window to check in and the woman says, "still with United?" When I said yes, she said let me check. She then said, we're going to have to reschedule. WHAT? You don't have a referral. I said I had a referral last year. She said, you need another one. We discussed and the conversation ended when she said, "It's the patience responsibility" This is outrageous, as they asked for the follow up and reminded me to make an appointment. Then when I checked in (and they asked if my insurance was United) there was NEVER anything about needing another referral. It was the way the woman said, IT'S YOUR FAULT. That really got me. They owe me an apology but I don't expect I'll ever get one.

As soon as I walked in the women working at the front screamed at me for getting in the wrong line as if i was supposed to mind read and know where to go. I was about two days late for a payment, due to me switching over to a new job recently. I got a call from Westgate dermatology saying I would never be allowed back at the establishment if I was late for a payment again. I just wanna remind y'all not only are you working with sick people but these people are also paying you. These people are making sure you and your families have food in the fridge every day. You treat your patience like they are lesser than human. If you were thinking about going, I would do more research on another place before trying here.

Meaning that someone arriving for a 1 PM appointment is locked out of the building, exposed to the elements and left standing or sitting on the ground if they arrive 15 minutes early to wait for an 1 pm appointment unless they sit in a car. This is careless and damaging for patients and the community for two reasons: (a) it encourages people to sit inside of cars, with AC running on a hot day, which is wasteful and bad for the environment; (b) it discriminates against and punishes people who did not arrive by car or may have gotten dropped off because they are not drivers themselves, which includes many elderly patients. I understand that staff needs to eat lunch and it makes sense to close the practice during that time, but the assumption every patient arrives by car and is willing or able to use it as a makeshift waiting room or else camp out on the sidewalk is a disappointing combination of cluelessness or thoughtlessness. Please at least add outdoor seating so an elderly patient can sit while waiting for the doors to open. Thank you.
