This company is a SCAM....don't give them a dollar. I purchased something off their website a couple weeks ago, paid for it (and the shipping....). I received an invoice by email saying it would be sent out om Monday. I have not heard a word since. They will not answer my emails, both the phone numbers on the website don't work. Wireless Traveler provides cell phones/smart phones for people who travel internationally (such as myself) and places where your "regular phone" won;t work. I discovered them when I was traveling extensively and have used their services since 2010 and on several trips to the Cayman Islands and Israel. They (Ian, Brenda and the team) are so helpful - and the per minute costs are moderate. (I am on a pay as you go program.) Very good! Excellent, in fact. Their "system" has not worked properly since the beginning in any country I have visited, but each time there is a different excuse. And every time, I am encouraged to put more money into the accounts (which has an expiration date). In addition, the WT app is "being fixed by the engineers." So, you can't use it unless you have a previous version, and whatever money is in that account is unusable. Ian has been helpful enough, however now that it its obvious to them that they are not going to be able to solve my problem, my calls, texts, and emails are being ignored. I can only assume they have given up on my situation and are unwilling to refund my money. read more

Wow! What a disappointment! My company ordered two SIM cards and two portable wifi hot spots for our CEO and COO who were traveling abroad. We'd never used anything similar before, so I asked a lot of questions going into it, because we wanted to make sure it was the right option. They travel abroad a lot, and we were trying to find a long-term solution to keeping them connected to our office at home. In doing due diligence, I made it very clear that my boss didn't want to miss calls OR texts from clients while he was traveling. Ian assured me that by forwarding his regular number to the European SIM card, we'd be fine. That his calls and texts would forward seamlessly. When we were testing the SIM card and call forwarding in the office before he left, the sound quality was simply horrible. It sounded like international land-lines from the 1960s. Tinny, echoey-- and half of the calls didn't go through in the office. We tried to forward texts, and lo and behold-- that didn't work! So we called Ian and contrary to what he had told me before, he said that the texts would not forward. But that was "okay" because people could text to his SIM card number. Which wasn't helpful, because only a few people knew he would be in Europe, and what about the hundreds of people who might text who didn't know he was out of the country? The second SIM didn't work at all. When we called, they said "Oh, yeah... It doesn't work in an AT&T phone." They said, "Nobody told us it was an AT& T phone." Hello?? Isn't it your job to ask those questions? Who's the expert? Not anyone in my office, which is why we'd asked so many questions from the get go. And unfortunately, our IT department had loaded $100 of credit on one phone and $200 on the other, none of which was refundable. We ended up not using the SIM cards at all, and that was a big disappointment. I'm giving them two stars because the portable wifi things did work, if slowly. However, we'll never use them again, and highly, highly recommend that you look elsewhere for the same services. As a travel advisor, I rented a pocket Wi-Fi device for a trip to Alaska through Wireless Traveler because they were recommended. I booked it over the phone to avoid any problems; however, I had to make 3 phone calls (in 2 days) because the device stopped working after the second day. I had an "unlimited data plan"; however, it was showing that I had used all my data. I was told that someone would call me back, and I never received that call. I had to find other options for internet so that I could work. I was extremely disappointed in the device. As a travel advisor, I can not recommend the Wi-Fi device through Wireless Travel; however, I can not speak for their other services. read more

My daughter and I recently traveled to Europe and were not sure if we should buy phones over there (you have to get a new phone and SIM card for each country) or rent a phone here. After talking to Ian (which by the way is very knowledgeable and friendly) the decision was easy. The phone worked great over there and I was able to communicate easily with my family. Whenever possible it was great to access WI-FI but I was really impressed with the picture quality. Overall, I would recommend this service! I've used Wireless Traveler for my daughter's trip to the Czech Republic and Austria and the service worked terrific. Saved a bunch of money over AT&T's international plan. Always a personal touch with them, very nice folks to work with. Their pocket Wi-Fi solution has worked out very well on my business trips when you can't find free Wi-Fi abroad. read more

Unfortunately, my experience was not good. I received the phone as a gift and decided to try it out. I did put in my information - including credit card information. It would not allow me to enter less than $50 on the account. I then spoke with my traveling companion and decided to cancel this account. They are now refusing to refund my money even though I cancelled within an hour. They also will not refund any unused portion of your account. Not a good way to do business! read more

04/22/16, If I could give no stars, I would. I would NEVER use this company for anything. First off----outrageous $19.00 shipping charge,on 2 sims cards. and very poor customer service. Now I know why Ian kept pushing for my credit card so I would have on going service. While in Australia, I had trouble making calls, I called for help. First question I had was, Am I being charged for this call, as out going calls were 45 cents a minute. The girl never gave me an answer, she said lets just fix your problem, since there was nothing wrong with the sims card, I got NO help, so 9 minutes later I had used part of my $50.00. Next my friend put her card in her phone and guess what?????? It wasn't activated, so again used my phone to call Ian back to activate the phone, 10 minutes later he had her credit card on file, "just in case she went over her $50.00. My friend ask if he was going to give me back my minutes, because Ian actually told the truth, that I was being charged, He said there was no way he could give it to me. Terrible customer service, when I called today to talk to them the girl was rude and obnoxious. I had talked to Ian about the option of getting a phone while I was in Australia and he said that this was a better plan----well let me tell you----We could have gotten a phone over there for $30 with unlimited texting and more calling time then we could have used and we could have used it in New Zealand. I didn't know we were charged for texting because I left a message for Ian 3 days before we left asking him and he never returned my call. Found out it was 65 cents a text. Ian told me the phone was good in New Zealand and told my friend it was not, need to get their facts straight. He also told me I could use the phone other places, that is why I need to keep a credit card on file to be able to use it, told my friend it was only good in Australia. My advice, see if there is some way to get a phone in the area you are traveling or check with your carrier for their rates. Wish I would have checked my options better. I am calling the better business bureau and have turned in a complaint with Go-Way travel. Beware travelers, slick talkers. read more

This business is not very professional at all. I ordered a pocket wifi and sim card from them for a trip, and everything came in time. I thought wow this company is great, they care about the costumer, but I was wrong. My plans took a turn for the worse and my trip got cancelled. I bought the sim card but rented the pocket wifi so I wanted to see if there was any possible way for me to get a refund on the rental. I e-mailed and called the company several times and have never been given a response about a refund. They say that they will get back to me but then they never do. Such a shame because if it wasn't for that I would've given them a great review, but they didn't treat me with respect and that's no good. read more
