Eldest daughter went there for a few years - the school had a good reputation and I have to say discipline seemed to be enforced. However, it is a private school and not very cheap at that. On top of the school fees there is transport which is arranged with a local bus company and very expensive. Despite paying for an annual 'season' ticket, there are only two buses back in the afternoon and, more often than not, we then had to drive to Wisbech to pick up our daughter from after-school club. read more

I have three children currently at Wisbech Grammar, two in Magdalene and one in the Senior School. It is still early days, as my children are very new to the school, but I am very impressed so far. It was recommended that my Senior School child join the Elite Sports Progamme and the Debating Club, while my middle child was selected to have a day at Magdalene College, Cambridge. It appears that Wisbech Grammar start very early in preparing children for university. My son loves the sports. The games staff quickly identified areas that he needed to work on in cricket and he improved rapidly. The Sports Dept run several two-hour sessions of pre-season training, which are invaluable in terms of readying children for fixtures before the season gets underway. Reading and homework are done each evening to reinforce what has been learned during the day. There are also various activities, such as speeches/recitals/productions that the children can work towards. There are various ability levels within the same year, with teaching tailored to the individual child. The school has a very positive 'vibe', which is what attracted us to it in the first place. There are anti-bullying strategies in place across the school. For instance, acronyms such as 'THINK' help the younger children consider their actions. Teachers seem energetic and passionate about what they do. They also have the ability to get to know the children very quickly. The school is also very well organised across all levels. The bus system can be paid for on a one-off basis, a one-way basis or both ways. The carpark is also being upgraded at the school to allow for smoother pick-up and drop-off times. Lunches can be bought or children can bring their own packed lunches from home. Uniforms can be puchased from School Blazer (with nametags sewn in free of charge!) and there is also a second-hand uniform shop at the school. The Head and deputies are very approachable. Their business backgrounds clearly show in the way that the school is so well managed, structured, and organised. It is reassuring to know that your children are in such good hands when you drop them off at Wisbech Grammar. read more
