I travel a lot around the country for work. I've been in some pretty bad laundromats. I've used laundry machines at hotels that made my clothes come out worse than they have gone into the laundry. Seriously, the only changes are the floor, table and paint. The pickiest change machine on earth still doesn't work. A wash cost more but no extra time. At present there's a man charging his phone and doing drugs. Please if possible get rid of the outlets above the door!! The pure neglect of this place hasn't changed either apparently. read more

This place is very convenient. it's always clean and the guy that takes care of them is always attentive to what's going on whenever there is a problem,they are priced reasonably and on Wednesday they have $1 off which makes it really nice for us the customers. I honestly only give this place my business because they are two blocks from my apartment, and I don't have another laundromat nearly as close. Pros: location, number of washers and dryers (plenty for everyone) Cons: Expensive ($3-6/load for wash, and at least $1.50/dry to get your clothes dry depending on how many minutes you want to dry for). Also, I've lived here for 10 weeks and the change machine has been broken the entire time I've been here. Such a nice concept to not have to go to the bank during the week to get quarters for laundry, I really wish it worked. read more

I always do my laundry at this laundromat and it's perfect for me since I live close by. The washers and dryers are always available for use because they have so many of them and best of all they use high quality machines like I can notice the difference in how clean my clothes are after each and every wash. I notice people complain about the price, but in my opinion it's fairly priced for the neighborhood and city we live in. They also keep the floors clean and sanitized. So in all and all, I give this place 5 stars. It would be nice, if they fixed the change machine, but no biggie ;) read more

I usually wash my clothes at my building cause we have washer&dryer, but I noticed lately that it doesn't wash my white clothes very well so I washed my stuff here and everything was super clean. Change machine works about 1% of the time. I use to think there was a system for getting it to exchange your dollar. But your dollar could be pristine and those machines (or should I say that machine, since one actually isn't on) will almost always spit it back out at you. Do yourself a favor and walk to the laundromat at Divis and Oak, or just have someone do it for you. read more

I moved to the neighborhood in January 2020, and this has been BY FAR the best laundromat I've used in my 10 years of living in San Francisco. And this is a big credit to the new owner; the entire facility is cleaned every day (floors, surfaces, machines), I was personally reimbursed (without asking) by the manager when a washing machine left my clothes slightly more wet than anticipated, and the change machine has been working well as long as I've been a patron. Most importantly - and I know people don't think this matters - the management are good, nice people. They care about your experience, asking for your feedback and offering to help however they can. I haven't met everyone who staffs this location, but hats off to Anas for taking great care of both the facility and the patrons. This has been my go to laundromat for the last two years - the laundromat is very nice and clean, the bigger washers are great for my bathroom mats / blankets / and comforters. Dryers are probably the best! Always dry perfectly with no issues and also management made it easier now for us to clean the lint by ourselves. Only had a issue once with the quarter machine, but got my full refund and also a free 3.50 wash. Definitely recommend! love doing my laundry on Wednesday with the discounted price on the washers when I have to use 1-2 washers! read more

I don't expect a lot from a laundromat, but this place pretty much let's you down in every way but one. You can wash and dry clothes here, which is the only reason for its one star. (And Yelp doesn't allow zero star ratings, which it should!) The clientele is a mix of neighborhood folks and neighborhood crazies. Why the crazies chose to wash their clothes here I don't know but I once stepped out to get change (I'll get to that in a second) and I came back to find one stealing my detergent. Another deterent here is the extremely finnicky change machine. The one side of the dual-sided change maker is always broken (or has been for at least 6 months) and the other has the most discriminating taste in bills I've ever encountered. I've repeatedly gotten change from a nearby laundromat with the exact same bills this machine has rejected. The nearly non-existent staff is not good about putting up signs on the broken machines. So at least once a month, I've gotten a machine fully loaded, put the quarters in, only to have the machine not start up and not give me back my change. Once it happened 3 times in one day. All in all- a frustrating enough place for me to walk a couple extra blocks out of my way to wash my clothes down on Haight street. I would complain to the staff but like I said, they are never ever there. Avoid this place if you're not too lazy to go somewhere else. read more

I've been coming here for two years--the whole time I have lived in the area. It's always been close and affordable, and now it's actually 400% better than it was before, as it's under new management. There are newer, better machines. The new owner is frequently around, and he also often offers help and advice and better knowledge about the newer, bigger, eco washers. He will also ask how we like the new lighting he installed, and he leaves his contact information on the change machine if needed. He's pretty accessible. I almost don't want too many people to start going there, because I like it so much. Gotta help his lousy rating though. If you go during off times and hours, it's pretty perfect and chikl. He even does $1 off washers on Wednesdays. Since this new guy took over, I only have to go to the laundromat twice a month instead of every week, and that is really the best part. It could really only be improved with some music, or the full-service laundry facility that he is capable of having, and plans to soon. read more

This is part 1 of my laundry saga in Lower Haight. My review for Wishy Washy Laundromat has been long overdue but I needed to be reminded of what it feels like to wash your clothes in a developed nation today (see part 2) so that I could more fully appreciate my memory of this disgusting place. As a place it's not that bad. Pretty standard laundromat fare: washing machines of the double and single-loader varieties and dryers. Well, I take that back. If more than half of the dryers actually worked, I could make the claim that they actually have dryers. This however, is not the case. Functioning dryers are scarce in the Wishy Washy. The change machine is nice, new and functional. Prices are comparable for the area. It's the dregs of humanity attracted to the Wishy Washy that makes the place so creepy. I did my laundry there twice and I had the following experiences in which I was: a. Spooked by the crazy crack-skinny, vagrant lady swilling something from her pocket whilst pushing a broom around the floor and talking to herself. And p.s., she wasn't really sweeping anything with that broom of hers. and b. Witness to a poorly acted epileptic seizure by a homeless woman after she had shoved her overstuffed backpack into one of the double-loaders, presumably to hide it from the other crackhead outside. She was polite and asked if I was using the machine first. I'll give her points for that. And just so you don't think I'm a horrible person, there were two other people in the Wishy Washy that night and between glances over the edges of our reading materials, it was apparent that none of us were buying the show. After our disinterest was verified by Cracklina and her energy waned, she decided to eat a cup-a-noodles. Where did she get the hot water? I have no idea. I've always thought that the goal of washing your clothes is to have them come out smelling clean. Not like you just finished a night of clubbing and fell asleep on an ashtray. You question the cleanliness of your clothes at the Wishy Washy. Furthermore, I draw the line at folding my clothes on a counter that would most likely give me a raging staph infection. I went there because I thought it was close and cheap. However, there are better options in the hood that don't require a prophylactic course of antibiotics. Wash at your own risk. read more

Yay, I am happy to announce that this laundromat has a NEW CHANGE MACHINE. I used to dread coming here because I would get soo frustrated that the change machine only worked one in 100 tries that I would ultimately have to give up and go buy a soda at the corner store and ask nicely if they could give me all of my change in quarters. This got really old. I should not have to drool every time I see a quarter. I should be able to use the change machine in the laundromat. Well, lucky for me, sometimes wishes are answered. New ownership has done nothing but the bare minimum on maintenance. Clean... yes , lighting, fine. Coin machine works most of the time. Which is good because you will need it to wash then rewash your clothes every time the mostly broken machines stop actually cleaning on the first time. This washateria is like Hell but with washers. The change machines are broken about 30% of the time, and there are not enough washers and dryers. I've seen fights break out over the lack of machines. Sometimes, as many as 1/3 of the machines are broken. Seriously, walk the extra two blocks and go to Delaney. The owner treats you like his friend, and there are plenty of machines for EVERYONE!!
