The shop is quite large and aswell as being a post office, they also have a small shop with sweets, stationery and lots of different kinds of cards. Normally there's a bit of a queue and ususlly it's a little old lady gossiping with the person serving that caises the hold up! this is definitely a case of the post office being part of the local community and I'm glad it's one of the ones staying open.

This post office is an absolute godsend to the people of south hetton and long may it continue. I moved away from east sussex where sadly every single local post office closed which to most peoples horror only left the main one in the centre of town, which was very inconveient and always full to bursting and often had queus out the door and up the road! Although a little cramped at times it is suitable for disabled/pushchair access so long as someone is kind enough to hold the quite heavy door open the door for you! There is a fair sized car park just next door, and the PO is part of a news agents which is handy for papers, stationary, sweets etc

I am a regular user of this small branch post office and I have nothing but praise for its staff…read more Although it is very small and only has two windows, the staff are always very polite and helpful and when the queues are long, do their best to hurry customers through but are also up for a bit of a chat when the place is quiet. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable and offer informative advice. Recently, this post office has branched out and it is now also a delicatessen, offering a range of food items, mainly in the health food type line, and a range of mouthwatering quiches, cheeses and cakes - which I believe are locally produced and are absolutely gorgeous. With some off street parking just in front it is very convenient.
