Old and rather battered but much loved village hall. People keep talking about raising money to…read moreknock it down and build a new one in its place but I'd be rather sad if they did as this one has lots of character and holds lots of happy memories for many folks. Local people hire it for birthday and anniversary 'do's' occasionally but I don't think it's possible to get a licence to serve alcohol there any more so they tend to be 'bring your own' affairs. As a result, and also as it IS a bit tatty in all honesty, it wouldn't really appeal to anyone who wasn't a local as a function venue. There's a regular indoor carboot style affair held there every Sunday morning which seems quite popular. The local bowling club hosts its social occasions there and the local school seems to use it quite frequently too. It is also the practice hall for the rather splendid 'Singleton Cloggers', a Morris dancing troupe which was formed in Singleton in 1949 and, apart from a gap of a few years in the late sixties, have performed at Singleton gala ever since (although now they perform much further afield too). All in all it's a comfy old Bagpuss of a village hall and long may it stay that way!

He has also been in the clubhouse after his games and says the staff are very friendly and the members are too. The nightlife at the club is fantastic with lots going on. excellent place for a round of golf.

They even put water on the bar for us so we wouldn't have to queue up. And they were very entertaining. The toilets have seen better days but the overall building is very nice. I think the room was booked through the manager. I didn't personally book the room but my friends had no complaints and received a perfect day so he must have done something right. I would very much recommend this club to anyone booking a function. You will have a great day.

So I gave it to her. So to speak. In any case. I love the fact that this team is called the shrimps, and has a cute looking fish on the badge. I mean, we don't even use the word "shrimps" (we use prawns instead) in England, so it makes no cents. It makes no dollars either. First-Hand Experience: I've seen Morecambe play live only once. It was at home, and the stadium wasn't really that great. But the fans were! It was a lovely little crowd, and they really made me feel at home. I met some new friends, and I couldn't have enjoyed the evening more - or the food afterwards for that matter. I'll definitely be back to see them again in future and so despite the fact that they are a smaller club, I give them a high rating. For some reason this is a popular team with Charlie Adam the Scotsman, maybe because his hottie wife is from up here. Or maybe I'm thinking of Fleetwood, but in any case. Since 2010 they've played at the 6k capacity Globe Arena. They have no Yelp presence whatsoever but as of today that is changing. They play in red and were formed in 1920. They're in the lowest tier of the football league proper. Their mascot is Christie the Cat (a distant relative of Anderson Brown) named after their former stadium. Here's the full story. How can you not love this team. They're a seaside team too. "The Shrimps mascot is Christie the cat. The cat was named after Morecambe's old Stadium, Christie Park. The cat, a good chum of all the Shrimps fans, was adopted by the home fans after being unveiled a few seasons ago. He once had an infamous friendly altercation with Dagenham & Redbridge goalkeeper Tony Roberts for which he was sent off, despite it being started by Roberts himself. Christie is now a regular at The New Globe Arena, after reappearing following his theft after the last game at Chrisite park, a member of the public came into the Globe and offered Christie the cat for sale to the club, after a short time waiting the nice police man explained to the member of the public, he was going home empty handed and congratulated for his community spirit."

What a fantastic day out!…read more My niece and nephew absolutely loved this place. A dark, indoor pirate-themed crazy golf course which is perfect for kids and adults alike. It's around £5 per player for the 12 hole course and most definitely worth it. Some of the holes are really challenging but so much fun to play! Pirate themed music plays throughout too! I had originally taken the kids here to keep them entertained but ended up having a blast myself :)
