The atmosphere is very warm and cozy, the decor is very typical for the mountain region in Poland. Great heavy wooden tables and chairs, wood burning stoves, fireplaces, stone walls. Everything we ate in Karczma was delicious and the portions absolutely satisfying! We tried couple different dishes including potatoes, sausages, goulash, potato pancakes with mushroom sauce! He almost chipped his tooth on some small stones (we hope it was stones) that were in his kasza, and I received a fabric tag saying "MADE IN CHINA" in my surowka. Ugh. Both kaszas were dry, bland and not well seasoned, and the pork tenderloin was served with a TON of kasza and DROWNED in gravy, possibly to hide the fact that there wasn't really that much meat in the dish. Being polish, I have tasted most of these dishes several times throughout my life and this, except for the krupnik, was just not impressive. All in all, a rather disappointing experience for 135 zl.
