They have Avery cheap flight specials. But one time my flight on Wizzair from London to Sibiu canceled just a few hours before departure. They rebooked me on a flight the next day. Going to another city in Romania. Despite following their guidelines to the letter, they did not refund me for the cost of the hotel I had to stay in in London, or the train from the new Romania city (Cluj) to Sibiu. So it ended up costing a lot more for the flight. You get what you pay for. read more

Wizz lacks in all areas I expect my airline to be competent in. Such as, basic communication, customer service, (a working plane) etc. Our flight has been delayed beginning at 3pm today. It is now 5:30pm. The only somewhat useful information that we have been communicated to us came from our pilot the first time we boarded the plane. No updates have been communicated to us, and no staff member is in sight or has been in sight for hours. We just received an update displayed on our gate screen (which has not proved to be reliable) saying our plane is now "expected" (whatever that means) for 20:00. Again, there has been no actual communication with us at this point. In situations like these (which happen quite a lot, and are hard to avoid) we as passengers and travelers understand that things happen, all we ask is that we are kept in the loop. This situation would have been infinitely less aggravating with good communication. This is my first round trip flight with Wizz Air, and Wizz, I will NEVER fly with you again. Additionally, For an airline that nickels and dimes every step of the way I would at least expect CLEAN and functioning/acceptable airplanes. The plane we rode to Germany from Belgrade was dirty (pieces of food still on my seat) and no free water or beverage options. Our second plane was also dirty when we boarded the first time (note, we have boarded this plane twice... and exited twice, only once with communication (from the pilot) why we were exiting/delayed. This airline disgusts me in every aspect of its operation, I'm surprised it is not only in business but still allowed to be in business... Please note, this review does come from a place of in experience.. I have flown thousands of times in my life.. it comes from a place of genuine concern and disappointment. Also! There was no option for me to check in online after registering on Wizz.com. I was then sent to 4 different lines when I arrived for check in (because no one knew where to send me even though they were Wizz check in reps ??????) . Then they charged me 50 for not checking in online. It was absolute chaos, the workers were very unsympathetic, poorly trained, and rude. Many people were shouting and even crying out of sheer frustration, disappointment, and stress. It was a horrible experience, just pay the extra money and book with a different airline read more

My husband and I tried to check in online but couldn't because "there was a disruption of the flight and online booking is not available." The disruption was the flight was going to depart 5 minutes early! Once at the airport, the gate attendant said they had to charge us the $70 Euro (2 passengers) which included a 10 Euro airport tax and we would have to write to the airline for a refund. For six months I have sent four emails to the airline for a refund request and have NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE!!! It is a joke of an airline and I highly recommend that you pay more and travel with another airline. read more

Staff are friendly and welcoming. The big let down is the most unfriendly and often impertinent staff at the security gates. I think they forget that passengers are actually their customers and should be treated as such. Instead, they must think we are a crowd of kids. I travel a lot, and I have never come across anything like it, today was extremely offensive. As a suggestion, why don't you send a member or two of management as "mystery passengers"? To get the full experience, pretend you don't understand everything, just as it happened today next to me with an elderly gentleman. And the behaviour I experienced and witnessed had nothing to do with being busy. We are all busy in our jobs and travelling is often part of it. To risk loosing customers is self damaging and also affects colleagues and many other people. Perhaps a few simple training sessions help. In particular the crew on T2 from this morning (24th March around 9.30 am) would definitely benefit from an imminent session. Unbelievably rude, unhelpful and unfriendly.

Departure: Saint Louis-Chicago-Dusseldorf-Venice (w/United) Return: Venice-Munich-Charlotte-St. Louis (w/Air Dolomiti and US Airways) The Good: Our departing transatlantic flight crew was professional, well organized and prompt in their service. Seats are reasonably comfortable and relatively new. Individual seatback video screens with a good selection of movies was standard. There were better-than-average (for airlines) audio headsets and passengers may choose to start and stop movies as they wish. The crew provided a wall-attachment crib for the youngest of our travelling party of 16 people. Wine was complimentary on the return transatlantic flight. The Bad: Our return flight from Venice-Munich was delayed by one hour and 15 minutes on Lufthansa's partner airline Air Dolomiti because, and I quote the pilot's announcement, "of a stupid error by the check-in attendant." Passengers were told we would need to disembark 4 at a time to claim our pieces of luggage because there was an extra piece of luggage on board. That seemed reasonable even for security purposes. We did not disembark, however, because it was determined that a check-in attendant had let a piece of luggage on the plane for a cancelled passenger. The Ugly: Running late in Munich due to disembarking only 30 minutes prior to our transatlantic flight to Charlotte, a large passenger group was met at the gate by a Lufthansa representative. She directed us up the escalators with the exception of a disabled passenger in a wheel chair and our relatives with the baby, who needed the elevator. She let them find their own way to passport check-point another set of security which was painfully tedious for in a normal situation, much less a situation where passengers had already been screened and passed through security in Venice. Perhaps this was because the flight terminated in USA. The Lufthansa leader left us at security while passengers for a later Philadelphia flight jumped the line in front of us. My 3 kids passed through security along with my niece and two nephews. As the security personnel slowly checked all the carry-on baggage of my wife and sister (not Lufthansa's fault), a Lufthansa gate agent ran down to tell us to hurry up. I still hadn't even made it through security. The Lufthansa agent again yelled at us, saying they were closing the plane door. This was alarming to us all as six of our children had already boarded the plane. My sister's bags were still being rummaged through by security, my wife's passport was stuck under the -ray on the security belt. My sister and wife asked repeatedly if they would let the plane depart with our kids on board and without us. "Maybe." She said at first. And after that she just nodded her head in the affirmative. If we weren't such seasoned travelers, this could have caused even greater stress to Lufthansa's paying passengers. I, meanwhile was still stuck in security line. The security personnel took their time examining my carry-on luggage while my wife ran ahead to hold the agents at bay at the gangway. BRIGHT SPOT: There had been enough time for my wife to report to the gate agents to what had occurred with the other agents and they were shocked that it was a Lufthansa employee, but, indeed, it was. We were told they would report the offender and that they had experienced bad behavior as a Lufthansa employee and passenger on a recent flight from Paris. They two friendly female gate agents seemed to think this was an exceptional situation. Particularly offensive was the short, portly blonde-haired Lufthansa Gate Nazi who yelled at us at the security line and seemed to smirkingly enjoy it, and the tall black-haired Lufthansa male agent who literally yelled at us repeatedly to hurry up on the gangway because the plane needed to depart. He barked at us repeatedly, followed by a "sorry" only to bark at us again. Strange. Salt In the Wound. Someone was in my brother-in-law's seat upon boarding the transatlantic flight and my video monitor didn't work. I asked one attendant if she could fix it and I got no response for 2 hours so I asked another one who said she would get it fixed. 9 hours into the flight, the original attendant realized it wasn't working and apologized. BRIGHT SPOT: She gave us a 25 Euro certificate for Duty Free which bought a box of over-priced chocolates. Upon boarding a flight attendant required a boarding pass for my other sister's 10-month old as they suspected she was taking up a paid seat on a fully-booked flight for free. Luckily they had her paid boarding pass, so she was able to keep her seat. No crib attachment for the baby on the return flight, though one was available for another infant. Pretty Cool. First they tried to convince us to take the car after spraying some air freshner in it (a JOKE), then they tried to give us a SMART car (try fitting two adults and three children plus luggage in that! and driving 650 km with it to Berlin), before finally exchanging it with a VW GOLF. No apology, no refund for the smaller category car. These people are not only arrogant and rude, but also beyond incompetent. Unbelievable! Update: We had to rent a car here since there are few rental agencies nearby somehow they managed to top our first experience by NOT HAVING THE CAR THERE that we reserved more than 48hours beforehand, paid for by CC and received a confirmation ofIncredible!!!!

The room was on the fourth floor so that says even more about how well it worked. The rooms have a bed with two small nightstands on either side and a desk with a chair. Nothing else and it's a fairly large room so it feels quite empty and lacking a place to sit. No real decorations on the walls either. This is a chain of hotels throughout Germany and possibly beyond. They have their own brewery on site and a fairly large restaurant. We checked out the restaurant menu and because it looked rather chain like and was a little more expensive than the local offering across the street we chose not to eat here so we cannot talk about their lunch or dinner offerings. We did have breakfast the morning of our departure and can say that it was fairly complete, but not quite as fantastic as the two other hotels we stayed before arriving here so it cannot compare to a five-star hotel breakfast buffet but it was very good. They do charge 1.50 € for a fried egg which is a bummer, although they had scrambled eggs on the buffet. There is a garage under the hotel and it is only five euros to park there overnight. You also get in and out privileges by using your room card. Given the partial pedestrian only square on which this hotel is located that is very useful. The 1300s Benedictine Abbey is one block away from the hotel so this is a very good location centrally located in town. On this block there are five total restaurants, one is a café that closes mid afternoon, one is the hotel restaurant, three others are local spots as well. There is also an ice cream shop that seems to do extremely well. There is always a line at the front counter. There's not much to do in this town but it is a good stop if you want to stay outside of Munich - about an hour and a half away.
