I have rated a couple of radio stations since getting back from my trip through New England. I'm…read morenormally not a radio person and that is largely because I come from a part of the country where every station is now "IheartRadio" (formerly Clear Channel) playing the same 20 or 30 songs on loops throughout the day with no local character or quality. But driving through NE I got tired of my Spotify downloads and with no wifi close by to reup I flipped the dial. Radio Woodstock (WDST-FM) was my constant companion through a chunk of New York and I loved it. Great DJs, great shows, great taste and diversity in DJ chosen tracks. Such a good station I hope they realize what they have in the area!

I'm just far enough away to only be able to get it in my car heading south or if I stream it. They have a huge collection of music and aren't afraid to play it. Tonight I heard an underplayed track by Death Cab for Cutie, Alainis Morrisette, Van Morrison, Mumford and Sons and Neko Case. Eclectic is not a big enough word to use for what they play, I just wish they'd get a BIGGER DAMN ANTENNA!!!!

Some of this is prerecorded and played from a machine, but when Pirate Joe is on the air, he's got the actual records in his hands and he'll tell you all you need to know about each one. P. J. (Pirate Joe) Ferraro and his radio station is a national treasure with an extraordinary library of American popular music across all genres. Somebody should put this on line. The Smithsonian should be picking up the bill and letting P.J. follow his radio bliss. Really. 950 AM.

I gave it 4 stars because when I first started listening to WIFF in Windsor, N.Y. It was…read moreindependently owned by Richie. When he had the station, it was in the late 1990's and had no call letters back then. It was an all Christian Rock station at that time. Then he had to get call letters for the station, and I told him that WIFF would be perfect for it. He wanted to know what I thought it should stand for, and I told him Worship In Fast Forward. He loved it, and so WIFF was originally formed. Then CSN bought the station from Richie and Christian Rock took a back seat and it has now become a contemporary Christian radio station to fit a wider audience. I personally feel it has lost its appeal. I came to Christ through the Christian Rock of the 70's, 80's and 90's. I am glad his station was on the radio, because it shaped my music style ever since. I now have a solid Christian Rock collection of over 200 CD's. So when I am on these big Christian Contemporary radio conglomerates, and they go to more contemporary songs, I just go to my CD's, and play my Rock! You can take Christian Rock out of the contemporary radio play lists, but you can't take it out of the rocker, AMEN! Now some people say that Christian Rock is of the devil. But I beg to differ. Since when did man become GOD on the subject? Last I heard GOD uses whatever He needs to, to reach the lost! I say those who want to play GOD on this subject need to repent! AMEN!
