We saw the "potato tornado" sign and were immediately intrigued! Although a little confused - a dim sum place, serving foothills creamery ice cream at the front and fried potatoes? Why not?! I love a unique potato. The lady said they had one and grabbed a greasy paper bag from the side of the walk up window. It was cold and who knows how long it'd been sitting there. I said I wouldn't like it and asked if there was a fresh one. She looked annoyed, said sure, asked us to pay, called someone from the back, handed them the bag, and said it'd be 3 minutes. As you might be suspecting, we got the same potato tornado fried again. I was hopeful for the double fry, but it was burnt on the ends and not enough potato to hold up in the middle. I was blown away by my experience at WK Garden in Revelstoke. As a visitor, Revelstoke does not seem like a place that would have good Asian food. But WK Garden was really great! They have a variety of options - ice cream, dim sum, and most importantly, malatang. I got the non-spicy beef broth and items such as mushrooms, lamb slices, cabbage, and fish balls. I LOVED the taste of the broth and the freshness of the ingredients. As a clearly family-run restaurant, the service is fast and targeted. I felt the care from each member of the staff. I can't wait to come back in the winter for some more soup! read more

Caution serious food health issues! We ordered hotpot, but when the meat was served, it was still completely cold and raw in the middle. When we brought this to the staff's attention, the kitchen staff came out to argue with us instead of apologizing. They insisted the meat was cooked and defensively asked, 'What do you want us to do about it?' This is a serious food safety violation. Eating undercooked meat is dangerous, and the staff's dismissive attitude toward customer health is unacceptable. I will not be returning and strongly advise others to be cautious. read more

And don't be fooled by the spartan decor. But who really goes out to eat "decor"? The chef is a Michael Angelo with the wok. Ginger beef is a must try. Sweet sour pork you say? Well, stop your pre-judgement and try it will you? The waiter is so friendly, you'd swear he's your long lost cousin. read more

We enjoyed a pleasant meal at WK Garden, with friendly and efficient service and tasty food. The decor is ultra casual. I left happy.
