They have a choice on their radio, if they didn't like the oldies then they can listen to WIOG, now there playing crap. But I'm not done yet, the thing that upset me the most was how they treated Johnny and Blondie! Right after their show they were fired and walked out!! Unbelievable! That was totally DISRESPECTFUL of them! Those two are what made the station great! Well, I'm listening to 104.1 now and won't be listening to 96.1 ever again, and I know I am not alone.

I miss The Impact…read more This college radio station is the coolest. It gets its hands on new music months before you've even heard of the band. It consistently wins College Station of the Year. I started listening to it in high school and am sure to tune in when I am in or around EL. I even won a contest to guest dj back in the day. I still have the tape of my on-air debut! The college djs are quite entertaining. They are unsure of themselves, meek, but usually pretty into music. When I moved to Chicago I would still listen to it online.....and I think I will start that back up.

Like all stations, sometimes they play good music, but usually not. The DJs can be quite bad at…read moretimes, with their odd voice modulation syndrome that comes from trying out being on air for the first time. Once, I heard the same song, a bad cover of an Alice in Chains song, literally every time I got in my car that day. Like 4 times, twice in the same hour once. At least there's not commercials every 5 minutes.
