This museum is nice, fun for all ages. I really enjoyed walking through the fiber optic hanging light strands gotta watch out those unexpected walls... lol. The fortune teller was interestingly correct, strange. There are photo ops all throughout which is a great touch. It's also very interactive. Easy to maneuver though and not too big. It was a little on the expensive side, but I have to say there was a lot of exhibits and you are given a card with a QR code that will take and store your photos with an option to buy at the end which again was pretty expensive. I'm a huge fan of interactive modern museums. So of course, I wanted to check out WNDR. The website made me think of Mercer Labs in NYC, but WNDR far more interactive, with a giant pin hand print toy you can use to make a full-body sculpture, a chance to have a pohto taken of your iris, a room with lights that change it from color to black and white, and other interactive exhibits. You get a QR code to scan to take pictures that you have an opportunity to buy at the end, which is a bit annoying, but it didn't take away from the fun we had. read more

This place is a solid 5 but I'm counting off a star for a reason or two(more later). If you love art, you should love this place. If you love interactive art, you should definitely love this place. I remember when this place opened in 2018ish(?). I wanted to visit but didn't have any Chicago trips around the time so never got to it. With that, that allowed 7 years of excitement to build up for me. First thing: The website suggests buying tickets in advance at a designated time. Our tickets were for 1 but we arrived around 12:35 and they let us in early. So mid-day on a Thursday was perfect. We practically had the entire place to ourselves. Having the place during a non-busy time was perfect but that's one of the reasons to take off one star. If this place was packed or super busy, your results are certainly going to vary. One major appreciation is the staff here. From the front to others around the space, super nice! They were there if you had questions but they didn't hover or bother us at all. It can be awkward(especially during a less busy time) when you have the time to explore but your introverted self doesn't want to be loud or silly while people are staring. People have mentioned the value. I think It's great value but again, depending on how busy it is... your results are definitely going to vary. The exhibits were all some degree of fun. I think the WNDRMoments aspect is cool. You have a card that you scan and pose for pictures. I wish I would've known the package prices first. They have an option to get all photos(digital versions) for 49.99(2025). We would've taken so many photos. I think we took around 15-20. One exhibit had an issue and wouldn't accept the scanned card. I went looking for an employee, found one, and was told it needed to be reset and to check back before we left. We checked a time or two before we left but it hadn't been reset yet so we skipped it. To the employee's credit, they did offer to take our picture with our phones so that's an A+ Ideal employee situation. Kudos WNDR! I'd likely visit again. I'm curious how often they install new exhibits. Currently they were pushing a 3d exhibit. It was very cool. If you're in Chicago and don't have access to something like this where you live, I'd look into it for sure. read more

I had a wonderful time at WNDR Museum with my best friend. I used to do a lot of art and photography stuff with this friend, so we really enjoyed this museum. Her biggest note was that it felt very short. I was surprised how quickly it went by for the price we paid, however, we still enjoyed it. I loved the variety of interactive exhibits here. It's not just a selfie museum, it's way more. Sure there are plenty of photo ops, but you'll have just as much fun even if you don't take a single photo. The first thing we ran into was a picture of our eyes that were downloaded to a variety of other eyes. I loved that there was a rebranded Zoltar in here. There was a compliment machine and a bunch of art you could touch and interact with. There were even pieces you could use your phone for. There is something for every single sense here (there was even a tasting experience). It was a really fun time! read more

My favorite was the eye station where they take a super clear close up image of your eye and display it on the wall. What a great to began my year! Came to celebrate my first Elite Yelp Member Event at this amazing cool Museum. The WNDR Museum is a must go. It's very organized and the staff is super friendly. Vivian was our first encounter as we (my sister and I ) arrived. Stephanie was the front counter employee who helped kindly with taking drink orders and answered all questions regarding things in shop/store. All of the rooms in this super artsy museum were fun to view. Super clean and colorful and inventive. Takes you away from the real world and has the brain making you feel like a kid again. It's hard to choose which room was my favorite bc I really took each room in and loved every one of them. Take time to visit and bring your friends. This was definitely one of the best things I did on my trip to Chicago. If you're only there for a short time, definitely try to squeeze this into your itinerary! I had so much fun with all types of interactive exhibits. They include things like seeing a picture of your iris and trying the miracle berry which makes everything taste sweet! These are some things I've always been interested in but never decided to do because of the cost. The ticket is well worth it in my opinion and I like at the end of the museum there's a place to chill and you get Photo Booth pictures included in your ticket! read more

NOTICE: The Chicago advertisements that you see on social platforms include the silver balls hanging everywhere, which is soooo beautiful, but...THAT EXHIBIT HAS MOVED TO BOSTON So, if you are looking for that specific master piece, it will not be at this location. Cool museum features art installation that have a technological slant. It takes about 30 min to an hour to get through and they are always switching out installations and bringing in new artists. We had a blast at The Legacy of Now Panel hosted by jackdaniels at Wndr Museum featuring Chicago artist Tubs (his artwork is awesome, if you don't know who he is, you really should check him out). It's so great that Wndr Museum is showcasing local artists as well as world known artists. I had been wanting to go to Wndr Museum for a long time, this was our first time and it was so interesting! Walls of sequins! I loved it! There are about 20 rooms/ exhibits, and, almost all are interactive. It's actually really small for a museum and on the high end of prices. Admission to The chicago Art Museum for Chicago residents is only $20.00 versus admission to The Wndr Museum is $38.00 for "peak times". My advice? Look for discounts, check for buy one get one free tickets. These do occasionally come up. Wndr Museum is 11,000 square feet versus 562,000 square feet for The Chicago Art Museum. We spent a couple of hours at Wndr Museum while we could spend a few days at The Chicago Art Museum. They have a lot of different events happening at the museum, maybe if we find one that is interesting to us, we will go here again. read more

Honestly, not worth the hype on social media or the referrals we were given. For 2 people it was 92 dollars. We were done in 30 min, and that was us taking our time from- understandable there weren't that many people but the interactive stuff was to a minimum. Half the interactive stuff was NOT interactive and told you cannot touch. The price was not worth it and surprisingly compared to other museums we have been too and even smaller ones, don't think it was worth the amount I paid for it. It's a one-way museum, so I felt like it was a quick tour. Even though we tried to spend a lot of time exploring and enjoying it one by one, it had flown by. Did enjoy the option to purchase cocktails though and customer service was good. read more

My daughter was invited to attend the VIP Opening of Yayoi Kusama's Dots Obsession at WNDR Museum Chicago on May 10, and she brought me as her guest!  This was my first time at this museum, which is an interactive and immersive "museum" that combines art with technology.  We had a lot of fun exploring the museum!  There were many featured exhibits, and my favorite was the WNDR Light Floor.  The floor would generate lit up patterns when there was contact from your shoes or any objects, and the background music and vibe in the room was delightful! This event was complimentary, and each guest received 3 tickets for free drinks at their bars, with the main one on the second floor.  My daughter and I only used one of our tickets, and I got a Peach Tea, which was a mocktail that was nice and refreshing. During event like this, a lot of people did not tip the bartenders, but they were working non-stop to serve long lines of patrons.  The young female bartender was very appreciative when we tip her.  There was a DJ in the lounge area and music was very loud.     The last exhibit was the yellow Dots Obsession inside a yellow dome, which was part of the installation with hanging big yellow spheres with black poker dots in the 3-story atrium.  The little room had mirrors to create the illusion of infinity of yellow balls and poker dots.  However, after a 20-minute wait (they texted you to let you know), like every other guest, we were only limited to be inside the room for 1 minute!  So, it was a bit rushed just to take selfies, and there was actually no time to take in the presence of being inside the exhibit. Since the opening event was free, all we had to pay was valet parking ($15) plus tips, which was very reasonable, when compared to parking fees in the neighborhood.  I was actually very happy that they provided valet parking that night, since the closest parking garages were not that close.  However, a ticket to the museum during normal days is $32 and up, that is on the expensive side.  From a customer's standpoint, $15 to $20 would be a fair ticket price. It is worth mentioning that all the staff members we encountered were very friendly, making this evening a very pleasant one!   We spent about 2 hours in this visit, which included the wait getting drinks, and the wait getting in the last exhibit.  I enjoyed this museum and had fun! read more

I came at a good time during the Chance the Rapper exhibition! I think it was a fun and good time... While it was pricy and merely photo ops, I think doing it once was worth it. We spent at least 1.5-2 hours enjoying WNDR Musem. There's lot of fun interactive parts, and some are just silly fun photo ops! I think we got lucky with timing as it wasn't too crowded when we went. I don't know if I'd come back the next time around, but I'd recommend it to anyone who is about doin' it for the gram. read more
