One of the reasons why you'd have to enjoy Münster: The weekly market on Domplatz is so big and varied that you could easily spend a whole day there - if only it lasted a little longer than just 13h (?). (It's on twice a week: on Wednesdays and Saturdays) You can find loads of different things/groceries there ranging from (organic) veg and fruit over meat and fish (e.g. Dutch Matjes) to honey and sweets. Also there are some stalls selling pieces of hand-made jewellery, woollen goods and other little creative things. It can expensive alright but it's worth the experience. Everybody's really friendly and always willing to let you try bits and pieces. A further plus are the few stalls selling hot meals, too. So stuff like Chinese food, fish & chips, potato pancakes and cakes won't have you starving at all. read more

Wehmütige Erinnerungen an die Studentenzeit in Münster kommen hoch, wenn ich an den herrlichen Münsteraner Wochenmarkt auf dem Domplatz denke... Samstags schnell zum Markt, frische Wurstwaren und Käse eingekauft, dazu Gemüse, Fisch aus Holland usw. usw... Anschließend in der Wohnheimküche gemeinsames Frühstück mit den herrlich frischen Waren... Auch heute noch ein toller Markt mit riesigem Angebot und wunderbar westfälischem Lokalkolorit, wo man nette Milieustudien treiben kann. Äußerst empfehlenswert!! read more
