Found this cozy spot a few blocks off the Stadtpark and figured I'd give it a shot. So glad I did. it was pretty packed when we got ther, we were able to get a high top table after just a few minutes wait. Ordered the beef tartare and schnitzel. Be forewarned, they don't skimp on the portions here. The tartare was delicious and came with a salad and about a half of stick of butter, which was interesting. Schnitzel was big enough to feed at least two people and left me feeling like I had finally experienced a real local meal. Wine was also great and made me wish I could have stayed there drinking it all night. But alas, I had an early flight to catch the next day...

Quite tight seating. Restrooms are not accessible by people with limited mobility. No baby changing stations. The food is okay. The schnitzel was fine and so was lamb. Okay to eat but not memorable. Caprese salad was tasty. In conclusion, if you are passing by and hungry, feel free to stop by. If you are looking for a memorable lunch/dinner experience, plan to visit a different establishment.

Chewy octopus, fried not sautéed, Calamari fried correctly but devoid of any flavor, the Fish & Chips were passable, but not worth a separate trip. The best items we ate were the exceptional fries, their truffle mayo and their lemon mayo. Drinks are expensive, but in line with other popular places. Finally, service. I had made online reservations a week early for a Saturday table. I followed up with a personal email requesting (if possible) a nice table to celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived (to a half empty restaurant) I mentioned to a waiter who approached us that we had a reservation for 2. He didn't check any reservations list, just motioned us to a table in the main isle surrounded by two families with loud/noisy children. No offense for the kids, they are kids. The parents were, shall I say "laissez-faire", again not my business. That said, it is the business of the service staff. They all heard, saw, and even interacted with the children, with zero concern for the other guests. If someone had referenced our reservation request maybe it would have dawned on them that this location wasn't conducive to an anniversary dinner. In conclusion, on a warm evening sit on the terrace, enjoy a drink then go elsewhere for a nice meal.

The NH Danube is a typical spot for conferences and tours so you never know who you'll run into there. If it is a slow night though, they like to close down early before midnight. The late night menu is nice and I especially like their club sandwich with fries. Surprising they offer great homemade desserts. They promote a special Tapas menu on Tuesdays for dinner. Breakfast is pricey at 19 euros, just like all hotels in Vienna, but is huge, buffet style and full of international foods. There is a nice omelette station as well. Do not let them fool you into only drinking the filtered coffee everyone gets at the table, ask for a cappuccino or melange. They are much better.
