Some of the dishes are also marked "halal", which is nice to see when serving to a multi-ethnic crowd. You almost have to have a car to get here, as it is not anywhere near the city center and even a trip on the tranvía means you have a bit of a walk to find the place. Not impossible, though. There are several different areas for getting food, including sushi, typical Spanish fare, Asian, salads, and desserts. You can even pick out fresh meats to have cooked to your taste in one section, which makes meat eaters happy, I suppose. It is a very loud environment, and busy times means fairly aggressive clientele at the different stations. The price is good (not great) and buying a drink is required... so tack on a couple of euros to whatever the buffet price is for a more actual cost of the meal.

I was visiting with my husband the town of Alicante hoping to find some exciting international food…read more.After 3 nights of disappointing dinners in tourist trap part of the town we decided to explore the other part of town hoping we would find better more exciting dishes.We chose Colonial buffet as our option since they would have better variety of different foods and maybe we could have a decent meal .However it was not to be our saving choice .At first the opening of the place was listed at 8:15 pm they didn't open till 8:35 pm , the hostess did not even apologize for the delay.After waiting in bit of a hunger , we got our plates and we naturally started with sushi which was - not very fresh most likely made few hours before the place opened. Well, our biological clocks were tuned differently and we were hungry. We were also sick of eating white bread and cheese and craving some salad and veggies. Neco is an all you can eat buffet priced at 9.99 EUR per person! The food is fresh and very good. There were several salads to choose from, roasted vegetables, roast turkey, beef, salmon, squid (awesome), paella and a crap load of desserts. The poached pears were great and I totally pigged out on the profiteroles, they were just so freakin' good. Awesome.

The restaurant and bathrooms are very clean. There is a wide selection of foods and it is not regionally biased. You'll surely find a few things that you like. The baked chicken and roasted turkey were particular favorites. The pasta, albeit white pasta, was surprisingly very tasty. There is plenty of veggies and seafood if that's your thing. There were plenty of desserts from fruits to pastries and cakes. Surprisingly my favorite was the poached pear. This thing had a beautiful deep reddish purple color, it was sweet, a little syrupy, and not to firm or too soft- Awesome!! As is always the case with me it's important that the price is right and you get value for your dollar. This place hits the mark. Check it out for a casual laid back and economical opition while traveling.
