Wok & Roll in Summerville is one of the better Chinese food spots around here. I honestly haven't found an amazing Chinese place locally, but this is definitely the closest. Their fried rice could be a little better, but I really enjoy their lo mein, and the egg rolls are the best I've had in the area. I don't eat Chinese food often, but every once in a while I get a craving--and this is always my go-to spot. I usually order takeout, but the inside looks clean and the staff seems friendly. There's no outdoor seating, so it's not pet-friendly... but let's be honest, most people aren't bringing their dog out for Chinese food anyway Overall, a solid choice when you're in the mood for Chinese! read more

Serena at the front was the sweetest and the cooks were also friendly. Ordered to go and it did not take long at all. Food was fresh, broccoli and shrimp perfectly steamed. The shrimp are pretty large and there are plenty. It comes with a savory sauce on the side and white rice. read more

As a recent transplant from NY/NJ and on the quest for some decent Chinese food in this area I think I finally found it. I've tried several places and looked in the Nexton area and found Wok 'n' roll. The owner is extremely friendly and courteous and took my order with ease. I ordered the curry chicken with the spring roll combo. It had a great amount of chicken, snow peas, bell peppers, and onions and came with a nice side of fried rice with a perfect amount of pork and onions mixed in. I have no complaints. It was delicious in every way and satisfied my craving for something a little spicy. It was not oily at all. My only complaint would be the parking which has nothing to do with the restaurant. For sure now that I know this place is here. I'll be coming back. Looking forward to trying many other dishes. read more

On my most recent visit I decided to order an appetizer only (Crab Rangoon's) they are usually filled with a delicious crab meat and creamy cheese type filling however after picking them up and getting them home, I realized that they were nothing more than empty fried wrappers. Each (wonton or egg roll type wrapper ) contained not even a half teaspoon of filling In each. Each Rangoon was literally empty, it was a total waste of money. I really like the management at this location, very pleasant, remembers me when I stop in, but this was very disappointing and a waste of money. I realize that food costs have gone up for every one but it's not ok for restaurants to charge full price but provide less than standard portion sizes. So here is it is the weekend and wanting to try someplace new for my Chinese fix... decided to go to Nexton and try Wok N Roll... I ordered my sons fave General Tso Chicken and I got Chicken and Broccoli with Crab Wontons... it's a bit more on the pricey side but we are here now. So we waited for about 20 min for our food. My son went in and grabbed it for me. Food was alright. Not much seasoning and the general tso was more spicy that my son was used to. Nothing too spectacular. I didn't really enjoy the crab wontons. But it's all good... would I go back... probably not my first pick but at least I can say I tried. Area was nice and clean which was a good thing. read more

Tried for the first time this week and glad I did! Loved it so much, I came back for a 2nd time in a week. First, I want to applaud Wok N Roll's safety covid measures. I felt completely safe ordering food from here and all employees were wearing their masks properly, unlike other businesses in the area. They had tables blocking the counter and it was very minimal contact to get your food. Now for the food, it was packed well and piping hot when I reached home to eat it. First time, I ordered sweet and sour pork combo and it was delicious. The pork and egg roll were fried crispy and both were delicious. The fried rice that came with it was simple but yummy, and not mushy or greasy. The second time I ordered, I got boneless spare ribs combo and beef with broccoli. Everything was cooked well and delicious. The beef with broccoli was super tender and tasty. The sauce was garlicky, which I like. I will definitely return. After a long day of painting at our house neither of us wanted to cook. We decided Chinese food would be the comfort we needed and ordered lo mein, sesame chicken and orange chicken from Wok N' Roll in Nexton Square. Our pickup order took about 25 minutes and with COVID, they stated that they would text you to come in and get your food when it was ready. My husband never received a text so after an additional 15 minutes waiting in the parking lot he went in to see if it was ready. No big deal but a small annoyance given our current situation. Now for the food. It wasn't great but it wasn't terrible. It is a definite middle of the road food experience. The lo mein was a highlight because it didn't just taste like soy sauce with a load of grease. It had a nice flavor and minimal grease. The chicken was where it was lack luster. The sesame chicken and orange chicken tasted the same with the exception of sesame seeds thrown on one. There were pieces that were definitely overcooked and others that were good. Just a mixed experience overall. The fried rice that came with the sesame chicken was good however and I wish I had more of that. The only thing is that add-ins on the fried rice is crazy. It is $2 for egg, $2 for any type of vegetable etc. Usually egg isn't extra given that fried rice is traditionally made with egg in it. Anyway, I would say that this is a good place to go if you are just craving those carbs and are too tired to really do much cooking. To be honest fellow yelpers, I've been flip flopping between a 4 and 5 star review for this place. Hubby and I have been stalking and waiting and wishing and hoping for the day that this place opened. Finally, after a long and terrible Monday, Hubby reminded me that our usual Asian dining spot was closed on Mondays but Wok N' Roll was finally here! I was super excited and hopped on to the website to download the ordering app. This is where my dilemma presents itself - the app needs work. Technically the entire menu seems to be there but there are a lot strange ordering rules that need tweaking. For example, I really wanted to try the Saipan Mei Fun (listed as Saipan Pancit on the app). In person, they explain that it comes with shrimp and egg and all that jazz. On the app, because they ask if you want to add egg or shrimp or other proteins, it implies that it does NOT come with those things. So when I attempted to use the app, it was telling me my Saipan Pancit would cost almost $20 after add-ons! In person, the same dish was ~$9. Ultimately, after trying to add a couple of other items and essentially being told by the app that the item wouldn't be added without selecting an upcharge item, I decided to head home, pick up hubby and go together in person. The ladies working last night were incredibly nice and had a great energy! Also quite thoughtful. This place JUST opened last night so there's a lot of kinks and little things here and there they need to work through. One of the ladies even took the time to ask a fellow dining couple, hubby, and me if the music volume in the dining area was an OK volume or if it interfered with dining/waiting experience. Once our food was ready - which, I would like to add, was a very speedy prep! - hubby and I were on the road home with our dishes. The Saipan noodles were tasty and pretty similar to a dish I enjoyed ordering from a place in Hawaii I loved which is impressive because you don't see that kind of Asian food here in the South East. We were interested in trying a weird variety of things so we ordered crab rangoon, moo goo gai pan, and orange chicken. The crab rangoon was delightfully shaped and perfectly prepared - the dumpling was crispy and the contents were nicely flavored! The moo goo gai pan was solid and the orange chicken, though soggy by the time we arrived home, had a nice sauce flavor. So far, I'm happy with my experience but really hope that they fix the app because I drive home past it every night and love places that I can conveniently order ahead and just grab my order and go. read more

Wok does franchise well. My wife, a Filipino, and I enjoy foods like Chinese. The rice here is sticky and the food is flavored to please the pallet. And the portion size are hardy. It was a real letdown. What's going on with the fried rice? Shrimp fried rice has shrimp, rice and onion. Nothing else. No veggies. No nothing! Very bland. The chicken didn't have that familiar Chinese food taste to it. If you know what I mean. Bland as well. The egg roll... I took one bite and put it down. And I never do that. Not too happy. they were out of spare ribs on the bone so they told me i can have boneless ribs..i said ok i'll give it a try But when i got home the normally 1" wide pieces of meat were nothing more than greasy ,strips of pork that you find in the soup or pork fried rice. No lie..these were loaded with fat....these boneless ribs were nothing more that pork meat trimmed of fat with little meat and disguised as a boneless rib. The soup noodles were old and mealy not at all crispy. and the FRESH hot mustard (normally bright yellow ..i do make it from mustard powder at home so i know) was orange and old. It was watery in spots and thick in others...Ok if you don't sell fresh mustard often..no excuses take it out of the fridge and throw it out. Really nice place. When you think of your typical "fast food" Chinese restaurant this is a big upgrade. The inside was really clean, and our table was cleaned by staff when we sat. A man in a hat was doing 5 things at once and took our order while being really friendly which takes a lot in food service. Food was all very fresh and colorful. It didn't look like what I expected but tasted vibrant. They also carry peach tea in their drink fridge which is rare. I really appreciated the food and service here and will be back! read more
