"Love Her Madly" by The Doors (1971) WQCO is broadcasting at 90.5 and 88.5 on the north and south sides of Lake Okeechobee, respectively. Driving from Okeechobee back to Palm Beach and having trouble keeping my internet connected, I landed on this radio station for the drive. They are "Lake O's Rock Variety" and are just one of the channels operated by Indian River State College (under their WQCS umbrella) along the Treasure Coast in Fort Pierce. It's not a very strong signal so it faded out as I got further into Palm Beach County. Only 11000 watts so it reaches Okeechobee, Lakeport, Moore Haven, Clewiston, and Belle Glade. Very good tunes today that kept me on the channel. I've lived in places where Country Music is king and enjoy it as well. I listen to plenty of Jazz and have even been known to dabble in Classical music. Heavy Metal is not my thing. I never could get into it. These fine folks bill themselves as the Country Music king of my county and as far as I can tell that's true. I think of them as easy listening country. You're going to think I'm crazy, but their commercials interest me. I get a completely different take on local businesses that I can't easily get elsewhere! Their radio personalities are generally calm and competent and get the job done! Finally, when I'm traveling locally, I enjoy a nice clean signal with no static or interruptions. They are one of my sources of entertainment and information that I value!
