Stopped in for dinner. Friendly waiter took our order. The couple at the table next to ours had been seated before us. We were not surprised to see their food delivered. It looked like they ordered the same items we did. After a few minutes the couple waived down a server and told them they received the wrong order. It turns out it was ours and the server brought it to us. We said to make it again as we were sure it was cold plus it had been given to another diner. 5 minutes passed and the brought what we believe were the same meals after trying to reheat them. I've only been here once but it was a great experience. There is a side room that is perfect for a get-together. It has a few tables and chairs for dining, plus a tv and couches by a fake fireplace. I was very impressed. Our server was super friendly. Best of all, this place had Zombie Dust on tap! It's one of the best beers on BeerAdvocate, and it was delicious. Good for large parties, great for small ones too. I'm glad this place is here, and based on how difficult it was to find a parking spot, it seems to be doing very well. Once the new Brewflix brewery/theater is right next door, Wolfie's will be PERFECT for dinner before going to a movie or a place to have another drink once the movie is over. read more

Kids are allowed in the restaurant area on football Sundays and they play the sound for the Bears games. Wolfies has everything I want to like. Nice location, nicely appointed, and locally owned. I arrived expecting to really enjoy my experience here. Instead, I was....underwhelmed. Seriously. The decor is fantastic...warm and inviting. We arrived about 530PM, prime dinner time, and expected to wait, no big deal. Instead, the restaurant was darn near empty. We got a seat immediately, and noticed there were 3 or 4 folks at the bar, but that was it. No other tables with customers. Our server was pleasant and friendly. I ordered the breaded tenderloin sandwich, and it was just average. They advertise it as hand breaded, and I'm certain it was, but there was nothing about breading or the meat that stood out. I've had frozen fritters that were just about as good. I WILL say that the homemade chips were outstanding. My wife, Holly, chose a fish wrap. She said it, too, was OK...but there wasn't much fish on it. Mostly veggies and wrap. For her side, she chose chips and salsa, and the salsa appeared to be straight out of a jar. After a so so meal, the server told us they had blackberry cobbler. Now, HERE was something to get excited about. Eh......not so much. Small portion, and pretty tastless. I'm glad we split an order, because it was 6 bucks(!). Certainly not worth the money. Once we had finished our dessert, our server brought us our check...and then disappeared. We waited. and waited, and waited some more. FINALLY she re-appeared and took care of us. As I said, it was an underwhelming experience. Wolfies has all the right components to be a superb neighborhood pub - great decor, pleasant atmosphere, outdoor seating, locally owned and operated...but that's where it ends. Why do you go to a restaurant? For the food. And the food here seriously missed the mark. It was all average. Some of it was below average. None of it was exceptional. The service was okay for the most part, but I feel like we got lost in the shuffle at the end of our meal. And there weren't that many people there! What would've happend if they were slammed!? I shudder to think. There are other places to go closer to home that have stellar food and perfectly adequate atmosphere. I'm going to frequent those establishments. Would I return to Wolfies? Sure...I'd give them another chance. But I won't be rushing to get back there. read more

Possibly the worst service I have ever had. Also definitely the worst service I have ever seen. Our table didn't have it as bad as some of the tables around us. The servers were the rudest I have ever encountered in Carmel. I am absolutely shocked! A little kid waited over an hour for food. Food was delivered to wrong tables. Drinks were delivered to me I never ordered. Drinks we ordered took asking 3 different times to receive. The younger waitress took the orders then I think had to ask the older waitress to put in the order. My son got the wrong order and finally by the time I got to say something about it everyone was already done eating and she just said "oh gosh" and brought out what he was supposed to have through a third server. What a joke! The table next to us said this also happened the last time they were there! Don't give the servers any credit for just being busy. The place was packed but they seemed to cluster by the bar and clearly didn't care. read more

This review is for the Carmel location near Keystone. We stopped in for dinner and were the only patrons in the dining room. There were one or two people in the bar. Our server took our drink order and delivered the drinks shortly after. After that it was downhill. Upon delivering our drinks we ordered chips and queso. TWENTY plus minutes later we haven't seen a soul and still don't have our appetizer despite literally being the only souls around. I'm near death, starving as my ribs begin to carve tiny chasms into the side of the dining table as malnutrition slowly makes a home in my body. At this point I figure they forgot the appetizer entirely and I'll get them off of the bill. Low and behold they show up with no apology or explanation and the three of us destroy them like rapid tortillavores (that's an animal that lives on tortillas, fyi). We order our meal at that point as well. Meals are delivered, not quickly, but not nearly as long as the appetizer took. I had a salad which was as good as a salad gets. My daughter had the pan crusted chicken with fries. The chicken was good, the fries tasted like they had been marinated overnight in salt. Inedible. My husband had the chicken fried steak, which the waiter recommended saying it was their best dish and "what they were known for." Big mistake. The outside of the chicken had been overcooked and parts of it were so hard that it cut into his mouth when he bit into it. The worst part was how salty the chicken was. The salt was so strong that when the manager stopped by just to check on us my husband asked if he could please have an extra side of gravy to combat the salt. The manager smiled and said he'd be right back...the manager never came back and we never got the gravy. Further, the mashed potatoes were bland and thick, as if someone had simply pushed down on a plain baked potato until it exploded - dry and tasteless. Ultimately, a man that eats like a wild bear that I affectionately refer to as a 'gorilla-like Zeus' didn't finish a meal for the first time since I've known him. My husband's blood type is gravy positive. He lives for country home American meals. Chicken fried steak is his Alma Mater. Trust me, if it was even remotely edible he would have eaten it. He mentioned the salty issue to our waiter when we were working on the check and again as we left but the waiter didn't seem interested. We walked out of those doors muttering through our teeth about how we were gonna Yelp so hard about this meal. And here I am. Still salty. To be honest though, as bad as the food was and as long as it took to get, the worst part of the whole night was that they had The Simpsons playing on the giant projection screen with no sound and no captioning. Like, seriously, if you're going to show me an episode with special guest Sideshow Bob, you better not deny me the joy of knowing what that crazy bastard is saying. What a pleasant surprise. I went to Wolfies for lunch with my Mom because it was convenient. I wasn't expecting a lot as we approached the door, but the inside was warm and inviting. The menu offered something to satisfy us both and - I'm sure - the cocktails would have as well if we'd been there later in the day. The waitress was friendly and conversational - no hovering, no neglecting us. Mom had their version of the southwest salad - a great sized salad that left her with some to enjoy with dinner. I had the fish taco wrap - yummy! A little more hearty than your typical fish taco, it really hit the spot. When I'm back in the neighborhood, I'll definitely stop back in. read more

I've been to Wolfies Grill several times for lunch since it opened each time with my coworkers. Since I've been going I've had the opportunity to try several menu selections including the burger, tenderloin and a personal favorite, the buffalo chicken wrap. It is a great wrap! As I've commented before it's great when you find something so simple done exceptionally well. I've eaten the wrap the last 3-4 times I've visited Wolfies. Each time I've eaten at Wolfies the service has been good albeit a tad slow. This is not due to a busy dining room. The dining room today and on our other visits has been mostly empty with perhaps twelve 2-4 person tables. The servers are nice and friendly, but it's the kitchen that is slow. As with most people in the area I come here for my lunch hour. We have found it difficult to get into and out of Wolfies in under an hour. Again, this is not due to a busy restaurant. The kitchen has been getting slower and slower. Today was no different. Our table order was two buffalo chicken wraps and a tenderloin. All three had fries on the side. The order took 30 minutes to prepare. We ate quickly and asked for the checks when the food arrived as we had to get back to the office for a work call. I've been okay to deal with the slowness of the kitchen since the food has been really good in the past. Today that was not the case. The buffalo chicken wraps were overcooked to the point of being dried out and crunchy on the inside and barely had any buffalo sauce on it. I'm saying the inside meat was dried out not the breading. The breading was a dark brown. It's obvious that someone in the kitchen had turned off the timer on the deep fryer and didn't pull the basket out of the grease allowing the chicken to burn. The french fries were over done and overly salty. It looked like someone had double dipped the fries into the grease to warm them and then resalted. My one coworker's tenderloin was good except the top bun which was burnt from excessive grilling. It looks like a clear case of 1-2 people trying to run a kitchen with multiple work stations by themselves and food quality is suffering along with time to process orders becoming longer and longer. My coworker said he wouldn't be back. I might give it one more try this summer when I have plenty of time for a long work lunch. I love those buffalo chicken wraps so I'm hoping this was a one time occurrence of poor food quality. Considering there were a lot of empty tables for a midweek lunch hour I doubt Wolfies Grill stays open much longer without some major fixes in the kitchen. It's a shame too because the space is awesome and has great potential! read more

Poor Poor Poor Went today for lunch and our waitress forgot to put in my lunch order. So when the food came out it took a while before she noticed I had no plate in front of me. I assumed it was on its way so I didn't say anything. She rudely asked "well what did you order" and I responded with the Alpine Salad. She left and came back a few minutes later and said she forgot to put my order in. When she brought my food she said she would pay for half of my lunch...then as she was walking away she said she would have to go find five dollars. I thought that was strange... This experience ENRAGED me. First time customer. We sat in the bar. The service was a little lacking, but we found out that a large baseball team had come in and wiped out their cup supply and backed up the kitchen. Okay, I can deal with that - I get that's a tough spot during high volume dinner hours on a Friday night. Our app and one of our drinks wasn't what we ordered - so we knew the kitchen was in turmoil. When we got the right food, it was delicious. Just took forever to get it abs get it right. My biggest issue however is with the manager on duty. All he was doing was running plates out while these two servers sat at the till figuring out the check for this huge baseball team who wanted everything separated. They kept coming up to the till and changing things up and the ladies would have to start over. After 30 mins they finally figured it out enough to start laying out tickets on a nearby table. The ppl in the party walked over and started moving things around ruining what they had figured out. One of the ladies broke a little and started tearing up (I WOULD HAVE TO!). The party starts in on her like "oh calm down. You're doing fine" she obviously wants to be left alone by these very tall and terrifying men. Meanwhile the manager is just walking by doing nothing to help or intervene. THIRTY MINS of this! After the party left, all the manager says is "good job and gives them a thumbs up" and back to ignoring them. I was furious seeing that. If it had gone on another five mins I was about to step in myself. I am still sitting here and an HOUR later we finally get our check and those servers are still trying to close out the aftermath of that table. Manager is nowhere. read more

I've been to several of the Wolfies around Indy and they are all about the same. Above average but nothing i'll crave when thinking about bar food. This Wolfies does have excellent service and typically has good beers on tap. The wait staff is friendly and provides good recommendations on portion size and food. Band selection on the weekends is also a draw to this particular location because our favorite cover band My Yellow Rickshaw often frequents there.Theres a nice size stage at the front of the restaurant and room for dancing if that gets your party going. Would love to see Wolfies step out of the box and try something different or to offer a great happy hour deal, since my office is pretty close. Your move Wolfies. read more

I went to Wolfie's in Carmel today for lunch. It was my first time there, and I was very pleased. I only got the pretzel breadsticks with cheese sauce, but they were very good. The service was excellent. The service was quick, constant, and the server brought out the bill after the food was served so we could get back to work as soon as we finished our meals. Beautifully done on the lakeside but I go to the location in Westfield where I first met the owners and the pride they take both in service, decor, food prep, and satisfaction. Meeting the owner who is a burly man with a very kind heart is passionate and a perfectionist about his menu, staff and service. Thom is much like me in being outgoing and chatting but when chips are down his customers and staff are first. Good owner, great manager even better people oriented individual. He cares and that translates to the quality you are served. Food is fresh and as a very picky and slow eater all was catered to my needs and perfectly done. It's not a surprise we live ve this location though we live ve closer to the lakeside locale. Both locations are meticulously kept, training of staff is done well and their team seems cohesive. We he food amazing anyway you slice it and anything you order. A treat for me is a good ole burger but fries get to be much I opted for onion strings. My hubby too got a burger. We traded 1/2 each. Many Ne being the simplest but the quality showed, prep should we'd and something we all think is so easy is not. We his burger outstanding as my hubby's stacked burger with what seemed like everything bbq sauce, the most wonderful bacon and he opted for fries. No heaviness in the seasoning, everything was perfect, moist and melt in your mouth. You ve had many things on the menu over time and exceptional all the way. So why Would life's? We had a large carryout order last night that I didn't check it before I left the restaurant to ensure it was all there. That can always create cause for concern - once you get home you are basically stuck with what you got. In this case, we were stuck with exactly what we ordered, down to the condiments. They did an excellent job ensure it was all cooked to perfection. From the time I called in and spoke to Richard, to the time I walked in the door and paid for my meal, everyone was very friendly and seemed to truly care I was there. I even spoke with the GM, Alan. He walked me over to their new Broken Barrel Bourbon bar next door to show me around. What a cool place I will be checking out in the future. We were stopped on our way back over to Wolfies by a customer who referenced the last time he was in and mentioned he came back with friends due to the way they were treated by Alan last time. This is one of our favorite go to restaurants in Carmel especially during the week. It can be crowded but we have always been seated quickly. Mixed drinks are decent but I think we like the atmosphere and food the most. We have even enjoyed their live bands on Tuesday evenings. I like the salads very much including the taco salad and chicken salad. My husband likes lots of different sandwiches, burgers, tenderloin and fries. We seem to both be able to get what we want and enjoy the surroundings. Staff have always been kind and helpful. We feel comfortable here. read more

Wolfies is a fairly large restaurant, comfortable, family friendly with good food and friendly service. Great place to watch any of the games with flat screens everywhere. Lodge atmosphere with river rock stone fireplaces, warm brown rough cut pine planks and forest green trim. You'll find approximately 20 4-top tables with booth seating on outer perimeter of the dining area. The bar area is quite large with first come seating plus an abundance of 2-top tables. The actual bar has a lot of seating but was full when we were there. There is adequate table spacing even if the area is at capacity. The Den Room is on your right as you enter the restaurant with several leather sofas and chairs, few 4-top tables on both sides of a large river rock fireplace with a comfortable, almost intimate, atmosphere. The Den Room can be reserved for parties, celebration or whatever reason 30 of your closest friends need a spot. The rental fee is $50 with a minimum of $300 tab Sun through Thurs and $500 minimum tab on Friday and Saturdays. Max capacity is 30 comfortably or tight fit with 50. You will have your own personal server in the Den Room with reservations. If the room isn't reserved patrons can use anytime. The menu has the standard pub food with appetizers, salads, sandwiches and dinner entrees. Everything is reasonably priced, kids menu offered with something for most anyone. The panko breaded tenderloin ($8.99) was very tender but desperately needed seasoning and the panko crumbs were greasy. Served with average French fries which IMO required additional seasoned salt? Glad we tried but we wouldn't order again unless trying grilled. The Homemade Chicken Salad Quesadillas ($8.99) has red grapes, celery, mixed spices, fresh dill, all white chicken meat blended together then grilled in a provolone filled white tortilla and served w/ tortilla chips & salsa. All-in-all tasty but I was searching for a grilled chicken salad sandwich I use to order at 71st and 465 with same concept just not same flavors. Onion rings or fries can be substituted for an additional upcharge. We really enjoyed the onion rings. The service was fast, friendly and super nice about answering questions. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again, especially on a game day, or to rent the Den Room. read more

We've been here before but tonight was absolutely the worst! Our server could have cared less and never even cleaned the dirty dishes. I had to find him at the hostess station to get our check. Our food was sub par. We both had burgers and they were burnt as well as the bacon that came on them. This is so unfortunate as we enjoy going to the Wolfies in Noblesville and it's always a great experience. Maybe this location needs to learn from the Noblesville location.
