After the surgery ended, which was just a few hours ago, the pain meds are still not called in and no one will do anything because they have to wait for the doctor to get out of another surgery. I am an emergency room, nurse, and critical care nurse, but I'm away on military assignment at the moment. I will not be recommending this doctor to any of the female patients that step foot in my emergency room.

Her uterus was attaching itself to the wall of her stomach, thus the gas and bloating. The cyst looking object was where it was attached. Not a cyst. Had to remove uterus regrettably too much damage. He was very concerned about her and did great follow up work. Now she's dealing with side affects of hysterectomy (early menapause) but we knew that going in. Thank God for Dr McCollum and hope Mason burns in hell. Did I say he was a total fucking incompetent moron?? Yeah, well he is. He is so lucky we are not the litigious type

I waited way too long to have it done which was my own doing. When I did have it done it was a complicated and long procedure. He too k very good care of me. I have more than one story about this but today, I came in today for an IUD insertion which I was already really nervous about. When I walked in, the receptionist (could be late 30s, could be late 40s, idk) with brown hair was fidgeting at her desk and refused to acknowledge me for a sustained period of time. I waited patiently because I'm a non-confrontational person and eventually she just looks at me like "what" and says nothing. Just stares at me. Told her I was there for an appointment and she dramatically acted confused as to wtf I was talking about (she wasn't actually confused - she wasn't looking anything up on their computer she was just looking at me shaking her head and rolling her eyes). She was obviously extremely annoyed that I had even walked in. She made the MOST dramatic display out of me checking in for my medical procedure appointment. She asks me my name (with an attitude of course) and I tell her. Long pause before saying "I'm gonna need you to provide a sample." and then just cut off the communication there and displayed body language indicating it was time for me to walk away, as if anyone would know what to do next. I'm standing at the reception desk. I am not in the actual medical area, there is no nurse in sight. I tried to clarify what exactly to do at that point and she made more dramatic and emotional gestures, pretending again to not know what I was asking. This was just a really weird dance where she was obviously just taking any opportunity to express her anger via information withholding and feigned confusion to really let me know how displeased she was to have to speak with me in any capacity. Hours later I still cannot believe this happened today, lol... I actually cannot believe someone could act like this at their job. To a stranger at that. A patient of the facility that employs her. I work in an environment that requires high professionalism so I feel humiliated just thinking about behaving this way at work. I think she felt safe doing so because she was alone at the reception area. None of her coworkers were around. I ended up leaving because their bathroom is disgusting and I knew the IUD would probably hurt a lot more here than anywhere else with their clueless student staff (you WILL not see an MD here, ever). My practitioner, Valerie, is compassionate, thorough, and has really listened to and addressed all my questions/concerns. Valerie spent an ample amount of time with me, and armed me with a great treatment plan which included several prescription and non-pharmacological options to combat my intense symptoms of nausea/vomiting. I'm feeling MUCH BETTER now! She's also been very flexible in meeting my needs in regards to ordering my prenatal screening lab work. The ultrasound techs, Emily and Sheila, are both very knowledgeable and personable, and Katie at the front desk is just the sweetest! After my girlfriend explained the situation Dr. Schwartz responded with "Good for You call back on Monday". She totally disredarded the fact she has had pains and fever for a week. If she is going to be ON Call she needs to handle these calls seriously. I know 1am is late but that is how the Ask a Nurse numbers are intended to be used .
