I planned to have a natural birth at a birth center, but my breech baby decided otherwise. My…read moremidwife recommended Dr. Zakhary as he is the only provider who would perform a vaginal breech birth in the area. I was scheduled for a version to attempt to flip her but went into labor naturally 2 days beforehand. Dr. Zakhary arrived at the hospital and was very clear in the expectations that I would likely not be able to have the vaginal breech since I had not given birth before and may not progress quickly. I surprisingly was progressing well but this little nugget of mine wanted to come out feet first. He kept me calm and started preparing for a c-section. My delivery was much better than I expected. My recovery has been great 6 months out now. I do agree that the wait time at his office is pretty long. I have had pelvic exams from a few different doctors, and his were very painful. I never had pain in any others. I would also suggest more postpartum recovery advice. Even after asking about exercising 6 weeks postpartum, the only advice I got was to do it. I feel like I needed more information on what exercises to avoid and to go slower as I had some pain even just the other week. All that aside, he was very personable and allowed me a great delivery despite being upset I couldn't go forward with a natural birth. I am so incredibly thankful for him and the birth experience he provided for me and my family.

I told her that just because it's not hurting, doesn't mean it doesn't need to be done, and that it effect my sexual health. She then recommended I go somewhere else. I'm shocked that even though the Dr is taking new clients, the appointment setter argued that I should go elsewhere. So if you are reading this review, you should simply call somewhere. If you want to go in for well women visits and not be abandoned by a nurse on an exam table in a front-opening gown for 30 minutes while you wait for the doctor to come in, then she most definitely is your lady. As far as I can tell, it's only a receptionist and Dr McCarthy in the office. The last two times, I had the first appt of the day, so the receptionist wasn't there. Dr McCarthy checked me in, then took me immediately back (didn't even have a chance to sit in the waiting room). She does your blood pressure, weight, etc, has a chat with you in her office, then takes you to the exam room to change, comes right back in, completes the exam, and then you meet her back in her office for final discussions. She is kind, and listens if you have concerns, and makes the whole experience quite enjoyable. I almost wish I had to go more than once a year! A lot of doctors only call you with the results if something is wrong or abnormal, but Dr McCarthy lets you know either way as soon as your results come back (usually within 2-3 days). I am so pleased to have found this office and highly recommend it!

Then I received a bill for $464.25 for my labs through the same office. I mailed the full payment. After wasting a bunch of time to find out why I keep getting a bill for $16.50, the gal in the billing office said this is because I should have been charged $105.50 which is $16.50 more than what I paid. I have asked every way I know how to get a bill saying that my office visit should have been $150.50 and all I get is talk about how they won't send me any explanation from the insurance company that now I owe a higher office visit fee. My insurance says the $89 was correct. It's not worth wasting more time, I'm paying the $16.50 but be advised the billing office really doesn't act like they care to help the patient. I'll be looking for a new Ob/Gyn since fortunately, I only need the Gyn. and only need to see them once a year. Good luck to you having babies that have to deal with the billing office.

Martina Reiss provided unnecessary stress and projected her own personal opinion at my 39 week appointment by calling me selfish for not wanting to induce my baby. After multiple rounds of testing and asking for clarity on the reasoning for the induction, she could not give me a straight forward answer. I worked tirelessly with this office to undergo 2 rounds of ultrasound and NST testing to make sure that what I was doing was the best for my baby and myself. Yet I felt like a number at the end of the day rather than given the care and empathy my baby and I deserved. I am happy to report that I was able to deliver a beautiful baby girl with no issues whatsoever but because of my interaction with Dr. Reiss, it has made consider if I even want to pursue having children in the future. If I do have the courage to do so, I will not be going through Women's Care.

While I never actually meet with a doctor, my visits have always been with an ARNP (nurse practitioner). Without fail, this nurse has been friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. She has taken the time to answer all my questions, has written me prescriptions, and I never feel rushed to get out of there. This location used to offer mammograms, then stopped, then started again, and they are very good at scheduling both a mammogram and yearly visit the same trip. They now have all their records online, as well as a very complete and user friendly patient portal, so it is very easy to make appointments, ask questions, and check previous records. I definitely recommend this office for your women's healthcare needs.
