I had a horrible experience with this firm as I retained them after receiving ineffective service from a previous law firm with the sales pitch of just for men. After explaining to the lawyer that works in this law firm how I was overcharged for no effective work on my case ( i.e. meetings, emails to the opposing counsel, and ignoring my emails) this law firm applied the same tactic. To make matters worse, I paid for their services only to recieve a 2 month delay, no helpful advice, and a specific female lawyer working with the opposing counsel to complicate my case. Two pieces of advice I have is, 1) avoid this money robbing ineffective law firm 2) Keep in mind you can make a complaint to the Florida Bar Association and the Federal Courts on malpractice and unethical practices to help rid Jacksonville of these corrupt unethical lawyers. read more

I emailed PA Wolf's firm after hearing that my pet would be permanently placed on medications and would have to suffer for the rest of her life. Her illness includes: Trouble breathing, constant coughing and sneezing, loss of appetite, watery eyes (which hardly can remain opened), loss of hair, and a few other symptoms. I emailed this firm after doing an internet search of attorneys who handle like cases. My intention was to see if the entity that was responsible for my pets sad future, could be held accountable. I wanted that entity to be known and to never be able to harm another family, as they did mines. As I laid in bed all day, I hoped that someone would give me some good news to ease the pain. I received a call from the Wood, Atter, and Wolf firm. It was Wolf himself. Immediately he explained that the firm would not be able to take my case because it was tough to make monetary gain from it. I was shocked at how blunt he was, but I still respected that he told the truth. I was prepared to say, "thank you anyway", and end the call. The attorney continued to speak for the next few minutes, in what I could only describe as the most condescending and arrogant tone. I could not get a word in. His ramble included his opinion that, I should give him a call if anyone decides to take my case. He said that he would like to meet the attorney that would take on such a case, and who would prove him wrong. I was in a state of shock! I was (and still am) mourning the inevitable pain that our pet, a being who has become an important part of our family, will have to endure. ..and here was this stranger on the phone ..speaking to me, as if I'd challenged him to win a court case. Besides the news that our family's long time companion had such a dim future, I'd never experience such a heartbreaking call. Wolf was extremely insensitive. I find it sad that a person who is in a position to help people has turned into an insensitive monster who is no longer able to empathize with humans who have natural human feelings. I am not sure what prompted the attorney to even call my phone. I checked my email inbox after the call. He sent an email before he called. In it, he stated that taking my case would not be "economically sensible". Was his intention to "stick the dagger in further?" I guess that I will never know. All that I know is that it will be hard to forget the extremely insensitive person whom I spoke with today. I'm not even sure what good this review would do. Please, Jacksonville, help me find an honest lawyer!!! My legal woes continue thanks to this ineffective group of shisters. What is it about law school that makes erudite people think that they can charge a lot of money for their services, but not do any real work? My story started about a year ago when this esteemed law firm agreed to represent me in a breach of contract case with Bank of America. Each month, I dutifully paid my attorney $500 and I begged him to sue. Instead, he decided to exchange ineffectual e-mails with Bank of America, even though we had a very winable case. After absorbing over $3,000 of my money without any result and zero desire to listen to me (their paying client), I stopped payment. Instead of finding out why I stopped payment, these overpaid wastrels just let me lose my case against Bank of America, even though as my counsel they were bound to defend me! To make it even better, the represented me in an unrelated case. Again, I paid them $500 for services rendered and $500 as a bond for further services. Well, further services were not required, but instead they cashiered my $500 bond and applied to the Bank of America case in which they had failed to represent me! This firm looks big and impressive, but the reality is that they don't care about their clients, they don't listen, they milk them out of money and steal their bonds. This firm represented me in a personal injury case of which I suffered soft tissue damage. The representation I received from this firm was stellar. I was treated like I was their most important client, although I am certain I was not. Every time I called I was either able to immediately speak to my attorney, or he got back to me the very same day. I felt they explained every detail I needed to know, and fought for me every step of the way (and this case took a year). If you're looking for a firm who can provide consistent, responsible and professional legal representation through the long term, of one or more legal proceedings; DO NOT LOOK TO ANY OF THE NAMED PRINCIPAL ATTORNEY'S OF THIS FIRM. My advice is not only no, but OH HELL NO!.... And don't reach out to the Florida Bar for help, the bar is in the business of helping attorney's, they're not out to help someone needing legal guidance, that's not their charter. In 6 years of having WAW as our contracted representation they constantly flipped my case from attorney to attorney like playing hot potato. In 6 years I called the firm to get updates and to update records only to speak to a different legal assistant each time for a different attorney, who's name I had to lookup in court documents. They were assigning attorney's who don't have the skill or ability in case matters they were assigned and who are not willing to actually work to put up a legal fight. When originally contacted and contracted to have WAW represent our interests we were assigned a junior attorney with limited (little to none) experience in our case matters (G.Gilbert). {This guy is still practicing in the Jacksonville area but no longer works for WAW and I wouldn't recommend him either} On more than one occasion when discussing our case matters within the first few months it was clear my lay experience and understanding of state and federal matters exceeded our junior attorney's , who I mistakenly presumed would gain advice from the principals. Um.. .no that didn't happen. Within a year of our initial case judgement we were faced with an upcharge by the court that was neither explained, validated nor discussed or argued by the firm; who were contracted to provide "the best representation". Not on your life... lazy is the only word I can think of that fits their approach. Their knowledge on several case matters is no better than what anyone (seriously you or I) can find using Google and a few well thought out key word searches. They just fake it really well. So fast forward to today, when our case(s) finally come to a close and we're needing the legal representation, paid for and not cheaply, where were they?.... They completely abdicate their responsibility and off load the case closure to an attorney who no longer works for their firm. So lets get this straight: 1) we contracted their representation for a case matter that was a 5-7 yr matter 2) we needed educated and experienced representation to insure the matter was handled as carefully and with minimal impact as possible 3) we needed to work over time to resolve the matter and to periodically resolve intermediate issues 4) we needed representation through not only the filing of the case but through case closure and filing of all court required documentation WAW's response: 1) assign a junior attorney (they cost less to the firm and the client won't know) 2) file minimal court documents to keep the case load simple 3) as soon as the firm get's its fees close the case on the books (instead of carrying the funds for the life of the case to insure pre-established costs are covered) 4) off load the case as soon as possible to an attorney who is no longer employed by the firm to avoid blow-back. I've had two terrific experiences with the lawyers and staff at Wood, Atter & Wolf. Both times professional lawyers promptly handled my issues for what I'd deem reasonable prices. Both cases required trips to court that I was dreading. My issues were always promptly addressed and communication was always easy and reliable. In both instances the lawyers did a terrific job walking me through my options and the possible outcomes associated with each. In the past I've had issues getting my lawyer on the phone, but not here. The staff was also helpful and attentive. I forgot to forward along some important documents and was reminded by the office staff.
