We had 2 trees taking down and 2 of the neighbors trees that were hanging in our yard trimmed, the 2 trees we had taking down were in a odd spot behind our garage that we don't have access to through our yard, Woodchuck was able to temporarily take down a section of chain link fence to access removal of the trees that they cut down using a lift over our garage in our yard and they also had to maneuver around many electrical and cable lines, they showed on time and completed the work in about 4 hrs and the clean up was amazing, the workers were very respectful and courteous, pricing is very reasonable and I would definitely recommend this company for any service they provide also Joyce in the office was very pleasant to deal with read more

These folks were recommended by my Nextdoor neighbor who had called them to have trees removed a few years ago. We had a storm which had taken one of our 60' pines into the street. The city cleared the street, but I was left with a partial tree and 2 others that looked like they could also come down any minute. I called Woodchuck to come out and give me an estimate. As there wasn't really a rush, Jacob showed up in about a week. I was quoted $1300 to remove all 3 trees with the stumps. They showed up a couple weeks later and did a great job! Jake showed up on time for the initial walk through and quote process. he was extremely through with detailed explanations as to what and how he would proceed with the various aspects of the job (we needed pruning of extremely large maples, the arborist was required to trim apple and pear trees along with a birch tree, two large limbs that had fallen required cutting up). The next step was a call from an absolute superstar in Madison. In today's society we tend to not be very social and caring and do not show proper empathy in most situations. Well if you are fortunate enough to have Madison interact with you your belief in the social order will be restored. This woman is an absolute ROCK STAR in all aspects of life!!!! The crew arrived as scheduled and went about the various jobs at hand. This crew was so professional in all aspects and guess what they were respectful in their behavior and of our property. Very friendly and professional! A few weeks later, the crew came out and trimmed our behemoth of a tree in our backyard. They did an excellent job, and it only took them a few hours start to finish. We had a huge maple tree in our small backyard. The trunk was split and the tree was rotted making it a hazard. I called several tree services. some Scheduled and didn't show or call. I used Woodchuck 2 years ago, trimming a tree that's in the front yard. The tree grew so well that the branches were touching the 2nd floor window and siding. I am a Grand Island resident, so I picked a business from the island. The owner sounded professional on the phone, but sent out a couple of young guys (looking like college kids) to do the work. 2 months later, the tree started to show signs of distress. 1 year later, half of the tree is dead with bare branches. Now I am not an expert on tree, so I have no idea if the trimming and the tree's sign of distress were related or not, but when I called Woodchuck, asking about it, and asking the owner to come out and take a look, he never bothered to return my call. 3 times I called and left a message. 3 times he ignored me. I made it clear that I just wanted him to look at the tree and then look me in the eye and tell me if it was caused by bad trimming or not. If he had come out right away, looked at it seriously and said "it was a coincidence", I would have believed him. But his refusal to answer my calls seemed very suspicious. I have no recourse, so the best I can do is posting a negative review here. read more

Woodchuck's service is something you just don't find anymore!! I had been waiting over 2 months for Hoppy's Tree service to come do the job, but they kept promising me it would be next week each time I spoke to them. I called Woodchuck and left a message on late afternoon Wed. Thursday Morning, Tim, the owner was at my front door and gave me a bid equal to Hoppy's. I asked how soon he could get the job done and to my delight he had the bucket truck and his crew show up that very afternoon. By 5pm Thursday 4 small dead elms were down and Tim even grabbed a handsaw and helped my husband repair a section of my deck that he had fallen on! (What a concept- instead of being angry and threatening to sue- he recognized the root cause and worked with us to rectify it right there on the spot!) The crew promised to be back at 8am the next morning to get the big elm that was precariously leaning over the roof that would require the bucket truck, superior skills and great care. This morning (Friday) it was pouring down rain so I assumed I'd get a call saying they'd have to come another day. However, they were here at 8 am sharp and despite getting soaked to the bone, they had the job done by 10:30. Now that is what I call service!! read more
