Love this place - I need to come here more often! I've been here a decent number of times over the years and realized I have never had a less-than-awesome experience. I've come as a Charlotte newbie, then became the one showing the place off to visitors, and in between I'll show up for a trivia night here and there. Staff here is my personal favorite- everyone is kind but not pushy or bothersome. They know the bar and the food menu.. I have asked what to order and fully gone along with their suggestions. Zero regrets. This is also a wonderful place to take friends or family visiting from out of town. My parents moved down here with me; just across the border in SC, but absolutely loved it here when I took them. I love a place that lives their motto. "drink good beer, do good things". The place: wide open with plenty of seating inside and out. I feel even if it's packed, there's still ample room to not feel like sardines. The food: delicious in all of their offerings. Fries were perfectly crisp and not oily. The hummus was well balanced and tasty. The beer: my initial only reason to visit. But tasting their offerings had me sold and ready to give them all my money. So here's why they live their motto. The cans we bought started leaking, we went back and asked if the leakage was a problem. They asked a few questions and profusely apologized and gave us two six packs of their beer with no charge. I tried to pay but they refused. They could have just said "sorry to hear" and sent us on our way but they made us whole. What a cool place! The service was super friendly and the vibe was very cool. We ordered a flight, a FLVR! NA mango dragon fruit sour, hummus, and fries. My love was excited to get his fix of Good Morning Vietnam, a coffee-vanilla blonde ale, that was annoyingly delicious. He tried several others and was pleased with the offerings. I was so in love with the FLAVR sour that I just had some shipped to my house. The food offerings were delicious and came out fast. The fries were piping hot and perfectly salted. I couldn't stop going for them. The hummus was delicious and served with crunchy soft pita chips and cucumber slices. It was a perfect snack. We may have to go back one more time before we head back to Texas. And we did! We came back at noon for coffee and snacks during a lunch break. The coffee was perfect and the food was delicious! I came here for trivia on Tuesday at 7pm with a group of friends. We sat at a high top and enjoyed a variety of drinks - beers, cocktails etc as well as some delicious food (tacos, burgers, chicken tenders). I enjoyed the tacos and I tried some of the tenders - piping hot, plenty of dipping sauces, and a generous side of fries. Trivia was great - a bit on the longer end (2+ hours) but the host did a good job keeping everyone engaged and entertained. It was quite crowded, I think over 20 teams, so there must be a good base of regulars here. Service was super friendly, food was delivered quickly, and it was unanimous that we would return both for trivia and for the atmosphere/environment. I had a great lunch here with a friend recently. This was my first time trying Wooden Robots food. I was here coworking with a friend unexpectedly because the first place we went was having some really loud repair work. So we just walked down here and there was plenty of seating inside and outside. First we sat outside but moved inside looking for outlets for our laptops and there really weren't any outlet options at all. We lucked up with one near their freezer, but people kept going in and out of it unfortunately. The food was great! I ordered some wings and a salad. Love this brewery! I've been both during the day and evening/ night and it's such different vibes but so fun regardless of when you go and the vibes match the time of day!!! It's so hard to park in south end so I love that they have a small lot across the street for free parking. At night, they have the outdoor area and inside beer garden open. There are lots of TVs with sports, plenty of drink options and a full menu. During the day, the left side of the brewery is open. It's smaller but plenty of seating. Not a great place to work from as it was loud, but plenty of people there for a coffee/lunch break from work. You can obviously order beer but they also have a full coffee menu and their full food menu as well. The coffee was pretty good! The salad was pretty basic but still good. This was a nice place to stop for lunch and a drink. You order at the counter, and I got the chicken sandwich with a half order of fries. I got the sandwich plain and it still had some great flavor. The fries were very good as well. For my drink I got the prickly pear sour, which was good. We parked on the street nearby, which wasn't too hard to do in the middle of a Friday afternoon. My dad said the burger was interesting. It definitely had a good flavor but didn't exactly taste like beef. Use that info how you want when deciding what to get to eat. read more

Wow what a place. One of the coolest spots I visited in Charlotte coupled with some of the nicest people. Who would've thought the best coffee in Charlotte is coming out of a brewery. These people really know what they're doing and really care about putting out the best product possible. I was able to chat with them and they were super passionate about finding the best coffees to serve as well as serving it the best they can. The barista made sure that my shot was perfectly dialed before serving me. The coffee was very good, and was easily the best coffee I had in Charlotte. I made sure to grab one to go. Came here for a date night and had a great time! There's 2-hour free street parking if you're lucky--first come, first serve. Otherwise, the nearby lot is $18 flat via app. It wasn't too crowded, and we walked right up to the bar to sample some beers. The beer names were super fun--my fave name was "I'll have what she's having." I went with Spring Fling. Light and tasty! Food rotates seasonally. My partner got a burger, and I had the pita falafel--both solid picks. Food came out fast and we just grabbed a number after ordering at the bar. What I loved most? The music was chill--not too loud inside or out. We could actually talk! We sat outside, enjoyed the breeze, and counted seven dogs on the patio. So fun. Cashing out was quick and easy. I would give this brewery/coffee stop a higher review, however, I was not a big fan of the iced mocha with oat milk that I had. The staff were friendly and the drinks were moderately priced for what we purchased. The ambiance was also nice with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The location works in that one side has more of the brewery options while the other side houses the coffee options to choose from making it a unique setting for both the beer and coffee drinkers alike. Aesthetic: Upbeat, bright brewery in the heart of Southend with a wide variety of beers on draft. My Favorites: It's not technically local, but I loved the Bludacris cider since it's gf friendly. Experience: We were waiting for a dinner reservation, and we decided to wait and have a drink at Wooden Robot. I've recently transitioned to gluten free, so the Bludacris cider was one of the only options I could have. It was delicious and not too sweet for a cider. We quickly discovered the place had a second bar in a larger room with plenty of seating and a nice outside patio. A menu with light fare was available however we stuck to just an afternoon pint. I had an iced caramel latte and really liked that the syrup is made in house. I can always tell the difference and it makes a $6 latte feel worth it. Charlotte is a brewery destination. It seems like there's one on every corner. I visited more than a handful of different places during our visit to Charlotte, and Wooden Robot was a winner. For starters, the staff here was amazing. We sat at the bar, and there was a great rotation of bartenders who were super friendly and attentive. It seems like the ones I talked to were longtime employees, which I feel like says a lot about a place. Additionally, one of the bartenders even gave us recommendations on which other breweries we should prioritize - and we valued that opinion a lot! The space is huge - bar seats, high-tops, and a sprawling outdoor space make for a fun hang. To my surprise, they also have a bustling coffee shop attached. There's nothing I love more than beer and cold brew: an essential to my food pyramid. For beers, there were many enticing options. We had a Botbier (foeder-aged farmhouse ale), Good Morning Vietnam (coffee vanilla blonde ale), QC Gold (golden lager), Strawberry Swirl It (fruited sour), and Riwak n' Roll (New Zealand-style pilsner). The Strawberry was a dark horse - it was recommended by the bartender, so we sampled a 5 oz. It was TASTY! I'm picky about strawberry beers, but this one was just the right amount of sweet + tart without tasting artificial. I also deeply enjoyed the Good Morning Vietnam - I love a good coffee beer! Everything we had, I would drink again. There are TVs playing local sports, and there are some funny art and photo ops, if those are your thing. Wooden Robot is a must-stop amongst Charlotte breweries. read more

I was recently in Charlotte just for a weekend and was recommended this brewery by our waiter at lunch. The vibe was so cool because you have a brewery side as well as a coffee shop side but they are connected. If you want to watch games on TV and hang out with a bigger group of friends and maybe grab some food, they have a really great patio on the beer side. But, if you want to either have a beer or coffee and get some work done or meet with a friend the coffee shop side is perfect for a more intimate spot. Stopped by super quick after coming from an event next door. Very open layout with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. From what I could tell, this place is dog friendly, and there were a lot of cute doggies around. First time at this location. Parking is chaotic. It's in Sound End. They do have a little parking lot across the street, but if it's full, there is street parking if you are able yo snag one. Employees were super friendly. The bartender was quick and efficient. Bathrooms were clean as well. I can see this place getting pretty busy on nights and weekends. I didn't see any games around at this location unless I missed them. I do know they serve coffee at this location. They have food also, but I didn't try any. Wouldn't mind stopping by again if I'm ever in the area. read more

This was the first brewery we headed to in Charlotte after landing. Hazy beers are always what I'm looking for and wooden Robot has got that! It's in a nice walkable area and the inside is huge, they service coffee which is nice for those who may not want to have an alcoholic beverage. They also serve food if you'd like to grab a bite to eat while you're there. We had eaten lunch previously so we didn't order anything to eat. There is ample space inside with tables and couches included. They have an outdoor patio where you can enjoy your beers on!
