Great school and courses, and excellent instructors! Beautiful setting in Brooklin ME, right on Eggemoggin Reach

I saw this in the listings and even though i have no personal experience with the school i needed to comment since it has always been part of a fantasy of my sister and i. When driving to one of our favorite beaches down-east we always passed the Wooden Boat School. Sometimes we would stop since it is located near a beautiful inlet that you could only imagine if you have been to this part of Maine. It always got us thinking about what it would be like to go to a wooden boat school. What kind of degree does one walk away with? A BBS (Bachelors in the Boat Sciences)? I took the "Getting to know your diesel" class. 5 working diesel engines and 3 nonworking engines that are there to teach hands on. The nonworking engines displayed how the cylinders, valves, fuel injectors as well as valves work and are adjusted. One nonworking engine was used for getting air out of the fuel lines. The third one was for practicing how to remove the cylinders out of the engine block. Pretty cool?? Well... Over the top yes. The teachers, John, was funny, kind, patient and eager for all of us to feel more confident on our personal boats. This class gets an A plus. And add bonus points. We heard stories that will cause you to lose your breath from laughing from original Stories of Maine humor."
