The services are not worth the aggravation of the rude front of house staff. This is not the first or even second time.... I keep trying them, trying to ignore how I'm spoken to when making appointments, thinking it'll be wonderful once I get in the back, but it's not ok to treat customers that way. And, after reading some of the other reviews on this and other sites, apparently, I'm not alone in my assessment. When I cancelled my services, Victoria said, "Ok." (Click) And, promptly hung up the phone. I just cried because I'd been looking forward to it all week (it was for my birthday and my mom had just passed). So, I've booked The Oasis Day Spa in Mandeville, where they were super nice and welcoming, with FIVE services AND a lunch for the price of TWO services at Woodhouse, where they were rude, unaccommodating, and were audibly disturbed by my inquiries. I'm surprised by all of the past low reviews because I had such a pleasant experience. This was my first time visiting this location, the staff member who checked me in was beyond warm and welcoming. She checked me and even offered to book an add on facial service, I wish I would've had time to take advantage of. The spa was the Woodhouse standard, calm, relaxing and tranquil vibe. Ryan was my massage therapist and he was great. I warned him I was full of knots in upper back and tough upper hamstrings. He assured me after my 110 minute session I would feel refreshed. He worked out every knot, even the really reluctant ones. He checked how comfortable I was with the pressure regularly and provided a great experience. Today's experience was fantastic. The robe and locker room are beautiful and the quiet room is very relaxing! I booked a 110 minute massage with Ryan and it was the best I've ever had! He was very communicative and responsive to the knots in my back and went above and beyond to make me feel at ease. They offer all sorts of drinks before and after including champagne. The shower was well stocked and it was incredibly relaxing to get a hot shower following the massage. Great afternoon. I plan to return! read more

HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT & UNSKILLED THERAPIST I encountered the worse experience in my life today at this location due to the lack of skills exemplified from the massage therapist. My deep tissue session ended within approximately 25 minutes due to the massage therapist engaging in a lot of rubbing and a lack of deep tissue massage skills being utilized. I informed management/Christy who only suggested a previous therapist that I utilized in the past and informed me that I could not be seen until May 2022. There were no other suggestions or accommodations offered. Cross your fingers and sprinkle pink dust prior to utilizing this location. I cannot help but to ponder, did staff change and management? The Woodhouse Day Spa was great upon entering the wooden doors. From the beginning, my boyfriend and I received our robes and sandals waiting in the quiet room, This part was great. Before I go any further I think it is important for me to say that I have high expectations because I worked at the Woodhouse at a different location and I now work in Manhattan NYC as a licensed esthetician/massage therapist. I know what to expect and what not too. #1 when me and my boyfriend were picked up from our therapists I was never greeted with a handshake & She never told me her name and just walked me back to the room standing in front of me expecting me follow her. --- as a therapist you NEVER should do this. You always come up to the guest and say my name and greet me saying your back. This behavior comes across super rude and gives a bad "tone" to the rest of the massage. #2 when I was escorted to the room she began to ask me which way I would like to lay down "face up" or "face down" --- I said "what do you mean? Which way would you like me to be?" This is a super odd question as a therapist you should know what your doing and tell the guest how to be and proceed to make THEM comfortable. ---- The therapist then looked over to my boyfriends therapist and said "well, I'll have you face up bc it looks like they will be starting that way" ..... ummm what? It sounds super unprofessional. #3 As the therapists left and came came back into the couples massage room, my therapist then asked me "What areas would you like me to focus on?" as she began to massage my shoulder. Again SUPER unprofessional. It's a huge indication that she DIDNT look at my paper I filled out about my trouble spots and she SHOULDVE asked me more in-depth about the areas to work on as I was standing in the room talking to her. I proceeded to say "I wrote that all down on my paper" and then said I said, "it was the shoulders and hips." #4 as I was receiving the massage, she never asked about her "pressure". As a professional you ALWAYS should ask "How is the pressure?" Or "is the pressure to light or deep enough?" I was receiving a deep tissue massage and it was nothing like a deep tissue at all. My boyfriend said he felt the same way after it was over and his therapist never asked again about pressure. We are spending 200 dollars on a massage and I would expect the best but it really wasn't. Again I have worked for this company in the past and I have high expectations and now I work in NYC. I didn't expect to be treated myself like a therapist but as a guest walking in. Was afraid that I could not get in there with my RV and trailer so I walked there. Was about 2 miles. Was very hot today but thought the walk and a message would be nice. Service in back was perfect for me and my wife..... Massage, facial and pedicure..... Was peaceful and enjoyable, locker room was spotless and locker was good and secure... The front end needs work, overbooked, bad equipment, no training are understaff not sure but 15 minutes to pay and to listen to another customer fuss over her account did not help!!!! Checked out then they found the items my massage therapist said would help me and my aching muscles!! Guess what lost those sales not running my card twice... Also didn't give us any of the business cards from the ladies in the back.... so if I go back don't know who to ask for.... Another case of the front of the house killing the back of the house... Sad me and the wife enjoyed it all except for the buzz kill at the front.... I had the worst experience that I have ever received at a Spa! I do have to say that my facial was divine. The facial itself was awesome and the lady (Kyra) who did my facial was pleasant and wonderful! However when I got to the next session which was the massage, the lady had a very bad attitude which set the mood in a negative way however I stuck it out to give the massage a try. The massage itself which was the 4-handed was terrible and the staff had a bad attitude. I ended up stopping them after 30 min which I still had an hour remaining. I spent close to $500 and it was not worth anything more than a good facial! I will not be coming back to this location which was the Slidell location. It was all around not worth my time or money! And to speak of customer service that was a joke. And to think this was a spa wherein you are suppose to be able to enjoy and relax, not happening! Not to mention they have the cheepest equipment!!! HUBBIES & BOYFRIENDS -- take your $ somewhere else. At one time, this spa was what you'd expect. However, between my Mom and I (40 y/o & 62 y/o), we have had three issues with showing up for services and them not being provided. One massage was canceled altogether and she drove 40 minutes one way to get it. Like Mom, I was not notified when I showed up for a package in late January (waited to book from Christmas due to their schedule) and was notified when I arrived pedicure couldn't be done. I have tried online and over the phone to schedule this pedicure since JANUARY 21. It's mid-JUNE. The ONLY appt. open was a noon today (it's 9:40ish am on a weekday). I was told this is due to the times we are in and also that scheduling with their technicians has been difficult. I completely understand this, which is why I've tried for SIX MONTHS. I was told Danielle or Kristy would call (managers today), then rec'd call from a concierge and still have not spoken to a manager. They will let me apply the credit to another service, but that does NOT help when there are no appointments available and I specifically needed a pedicure. REFUSING a REFUND. Poor service, poor scheduling -- DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Great relaxing place. I was thinking today that anything they feels this good must be a sin but I'm ok with that. I've been to massage places before but nowhere like this. The first time I had the classic facial which was lovely. Amanda did fantastic job and my face felt fresh and smooth. When you go in the smells are relaxing. You get a robe and sandals and spend some time in the quiet room where you can have a drink and relax before your session. The lights in here are dimmed and there is tranquil music. Today I had the prenatal massage with Hope and I felt like I could have stayed there for a long long time. It was very relaxing and this place is well worth the money. I've been to earthsavers before and comparing the two is like comparing mcdonalds to a five class restaurant. If you need to relax then this place is definatley worth it. read more

This always seems to happen to me at this location. I make an appointment well in advance of the day. The day before they call me to change the time. I say ok, and adjust my whole day. Then I get a call and several text messages with another time. I show up at that time and I am kept waiting. this time it was 30 min. They charge you if you are late or miss an appt. but they offer you nothing if they screw up. I am so glad that I will be using the NOLA location from now on. read more

The volcanic stone massage changed my life ; ) I had previously visited the woodhouse in new orleans and I enjoyed a sweedish massage there.While it was pleasant, i will come to the slidell location from now on. It is easy to get to and the prices are lower. I got the volcanic stone massage in slidell for the same price of a regular sweedish massage at the canal st location in new orleans. Haley was my massage therapist and she was very professional and attentive to my needs, as i have some accident injuries. I wish i could go everyday! The only reason i don't give it a 5-star is the location would be better in a more secluded area. The shopping center it's can get a little crowded. Don't let that deter you though. As the saying goes; the first time Shame on you but a 2nd time Shame on me. I haven't been back for awhile but received a gift certificate and decided to finally use it on a manicure and pedicure. I should have known but I considered it free basically because of the gift. I paid $138 plus 20% tip on a mani/pedi. That's about double the cost I usually incur at a nail shop. The service was fine. It went okay but nothing special. I left but within a couple hours I noticed a couple chips and some bubbling. I stopped back by which was about 6 hours after my service to show them my nails and see what could be done. Well I received a lukewarm reaction and they wondered if it had occurred earlier is the spa or if u had done something after I left to cause the damage. BASICALLY I WAS ACCUSED PF LYING. They Don't bubble unless the process was poor. I don't know what I was expecting? Any apology? And attempt to repair? A business that stands behind its work/product? NOPE! Woodhouse could care less. If I had paid out Of pocket I would have Raised hell but I wrote it off and a bad experience and SHAME ON ME. WILL NEVer RETURN. I will have my local shop fix those Shoddy work. I think this is my go-to place for massages now. First, Woodhouse is really relaxing inside with the dark wood decor and it just smells like a spaaahh ;) The prices aren't too bad, considering the use of the locker room and shower and that they provide plush comfy robes and comfy sandals for your treatment. It more than what I used to pay in the OC..but there are so many massage places out there that they have to offer competitive prices. Yesterday was my first massage there..a deep tissue massage. I won't tell you who my massage therapist was..I don't want to have to "wait" for him/her for my next appointment.. BUT, I'm sure they are all really good. Mine was GREAT! I LOVE a really deep tissue with a strong pressure and this is what I got! I also had a coupon for a comp scalp massage which was HEAVEN! They also used some lavender aromatherapy oil which I loved. The massage table was really comfy and was heated which felt really nice. After your treatment, you can use the locker room which has one shower stall - which seems to be clean (REALLY IMPORTANT!). Everyone there is really nice. Try to arrive at least 15 minute before your appointment time so that you can change in the locker room and use the quiet room - and relax.. I would love to give this place at least a 4, but the service was not great. I love the atmosphere of this spa and the complementary wine (try to get there about 30 min to enjoy some complementary champagne in the Quiet Room). I recently went for a organic facial ($75 not including gratuity; 50 min spa service) and it did not produce results I'm used to from a facial. My skin felt somewhat more smooth, but I've had better. Also, the whole service was more like 35-40 min. I would have expected more for $75+. It was disappointing, because I have loved their facials on other occasions. As the saying goes; the first time Shame on you but a 2nd time Shame on me. I haven't been back for awhile but was invited by a close friend who just got engaged to visit with her for a service. I chose a massage service that included a couple items including a body scrub and full body massage. The absolute Single characteristic I look for in a spa visit is relaxation which is the last thing I experienced. I've had many massages in the past and the best I've experienced are a balance where you are being massaged but it's almost like you are alone in the room. The therapist melts away in the background. NOT the case here. I wouldn't be surprise if the therapist I had was new to the job. If she wasn't then she needs some continuing education. The entire process was rushed and every motion and action she took was fast, jerking, and disruptive to relaxation. I did mention this as I left and the staff was apologetic but I wasn't looking for anything because I had already made the decision to. Ever return. Previously I had issues others mentioned in reviews. I used to visit every 6 weeks for a waxing service for over 3 years. In many cases I was asked to move or adjust my appointment but the single time in 3years I had to cancel an apply because of a vomiting child I was charged a fee. I understand the need to do that but 1 time in 3 years when Ive been asked to do the same by them was unacceptable. Plus the young lady I saw lost a long term client. On top of that they charged a credit card Never authorized them to use. That means Woodhouse is storing my Card info which is a Fraud Risk. I scheduled the duvet massage with my boyfriend, naturally thinking that it would be a nice change of pace and a great way to unwind as a couple. It was his first and well, I've been more pampered than not. We were placed in a quiet room while waiting to be taken back by our two masseuses'. Following being lead to our individual tables, I thought it was a bit uncomfortable to be placed in opposing positions while the other went through the experience. Essentially, the other party could have been completely absent from the session. I felt as though my Swedish massage was very light handed. At some point I was instructed to face upward. I had my artist's wrinkly old hands hovering over my eyes with some "mystical" scent called "serenity" which I instructed to breathe in. There was nothing soothing about that instance. I closed my eyes to eliminate any further awkwardness. Eventually the 50 minute session ended and as my other half and I began to put on our robes and discuss how the other's experience was, our masseuses' were almost ear to the door outside waiting for us. There was a feeling of lack of privacy there post experience for either of us as they were both right on our tails ushering us immediately in opposite directions. To boot, my masseuse made a disgusting comment to me in regards to my partner saying "Me likey" following his massage. Keep in mind, we were in the SAME room, and I didn't hear him say anything of the sort. Upon consulting him, to see if I was in fact mistaken, I was not. He is a highly intelligent, highly educated individual and this has never been a phrase in his typical verbiage. Incredibly distasteful of her to repeat in my opinion, EVEN if that had actually occurred. To date, I have no idea what this was about. Disoriented, I got dressed and met my partner at the front counter only to find that his masseuse, some girl with the last name Mickey, had pushed her business card on him, given him sample packets and recommended specific muscle relieving lavender oils. This struck me as strange given that mine did not parallel any of those actions. I spent around $150 and had to listen to a ridiculous product promotion put on by another Woodhouse Day Spa employee following an already less than savory adventure before I was given the option to just go about a normal payment transaction. I just wanted to get the heck out of there and go about my day at that point. This was definitely the most awkward massage experience I have had yet. I anticipate shopping around for similar services elsewhere from here on out. Only if I am geographically limited to a set of services will I be returning. I do apologize for any offense that may be taken to this review by any other patrons or employees involved in this experience. However, I am not one to compliment a job well done for the sake of being polite. I do place a greater value on honesty and constructive criticism. read more

My husband and I went to get a couples massage for my birthday. I've been to the woodhouse many times, and have had mostly good experiences. My husband's last experience there was average at best, but I convinced him to give them a second try. During my massage, my therapist worked on my feet for about 20 minutes. She seemed absent minded and her hand would stop in distraction every couple of minutes. She massaged my feet with only one hand. I knew she was on her phone, but I didn't feel comfortable saying anything. For those 20 minutes, I wondered if she was just texting or if she was taking pictures of me, since I was exposed underneath the sheet. When we were finished, my the first thing my husband said was that his therapist was on her phone for 20 minutes and was absent minded when massaging his feet. He was furious about his experience, and said that his Swedish massage was the most painful thing that he ever experienced. We decided to go to the manager to express our concerns. We expected to be received appropriately, since we were shocked about the experience. Surely this is not the norm. The manager hardly blinked an eye. She apologized lightly and went to the back to figure out what to do. When she came back, she said she was going to "take off the stones" and give us "50% off". This was more upsetting than the actual experience. I told her that a therapist being on the phone is violating, very uncomfortable, and extremely unprofessional. She said "did you actually see them on their phone" and "you were covered, weren't you?" As though these facts somehow make the experience less uncomfortable and violating. My husband actually felt his therapists phone vibrate on the table! The manager was cavalier and made invalidating excuses for our experience. Only when I spoke of writing a review did she say that she would comp our services. I can understand that an experience may be below expectations, but I would think that the management would be concerned and take a matter like this seriously. Instead, we were treated as though this happens every day. Worryingly, this may be the norm at the woodhouse. It's upsetting when management treats customers who have been treated unprofessionally and who feel violated with casualness and like it's "no big deal". This is when the company loses customers, as they have with us. Perhaps the managers of the woodhouse should experience being naked on a massage table, blindfolded, with the masseuses having their phones out. Maybe then they will take this issue more seriously. Or, perhaps they will understand when they find themselves with a lawsuit. read more

Got a 90 minute massage!!!! Swedish massage. It was amazing!!! Parking is in a small lot. But other than that. This place is super nice!!!

Very nice spa. I was given a comfy robe and some yummy tea and I was guided to a nice relaxing room to wait for my massage. And there I waited. For 45 minutes (I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment). After a while, I was told that I could not be given the full 50 minute massage I booked, only a 25 minute massage at a discounted price because my masseuse was running late. I was disappointed but I politely accepted. After another 20 minutes of waiting, I was told my masseuse did not show and that I could not be given a massage. They offered a free facial to compensate, which was very generous, but I am disappointed in how long I had to wait for this service. What was supposed to be an hour and a half trip to the spa turned into a good three hours, and what was supposed to be a relaxing experience turned into something disappointing read more

I've been here a few times since moving to Slidell and the experience was great each time. The front staff is very polite and helpful. I've seen three different individuals for my services and each one, while having very different styles, was amazing. I intend to return at least once every month or so. The only negative I noticed is that a few of the lockers in the male changing room have locks that don't work. It's generally not an issue, as the clientele is mostly female (so you are often the only male there). read more

WOW is all I have to say!!!! Phenomenal service all around soon as I walked in the door (blonde lady) greeted me with a big smile, showed me around and absolutely made me feel like a star. I then put on the softest robe ever, relaxed in the quiet room with a heated neck wrap and then it gets even better my massage therapist took me back talked to me about specific places I'd like her to work on (I received the 80 minute deep tissue) and she was nothing short of amazing.
