Full Pallet = $100. 1/2 Pallet = $60. This price beats the bundles I've been getting from the grocery stores. I purchased a full pallet (loaded quickly on my truck) & I ended up sharing much of it with friends. The oak wood burned nicely -VERY HOT & LONG! If I were picky, I'd have 2 gripes: * Firewood is ~19" long (My wood burning stove is 18" inside -so I had to cut some or insert diagonally -not ideal). * Their office is open for firewood pickup only M-F until 04:00pm & they tell me that they no longer deliver. Had three companies look at large old tree in front yard (Robinhood area) that was dropping branches. One quotes was pulling numbers out of his sleeve and not only was not a trained arborist, but also wanted extra $ if I required insurance. Second quote was a professional company that markets either by the Val-park or monthly coupon magazine (can't remember which) and their guy said the tree was just too big and needed to come down. They offered a price for trimming and haul away, but it was $1000 more than woodland. The comparably higher price and convincing story about cutting the tree down caused me to pause and have a follow up call with JD. He was pretty patient walking through his logic which started with, "it's a healthy tree with zero evidence of infestation of rot". He then explained how there was a need for a lot of 'cleaning out' of the canopy where main branches grew secondary limbs that had more growth and then dozens of smaller branches. "Air can't flow through, and that's what we'll do". The quote was well done, they arrived on time when promised, and cleaned up very well. read more

Arborist, Chris Hudson, explained it all and made recommendations for routine tree care that included cleaning a huge cherry bark red oak. His instructions to the crew were followed to the letter. They completely hacked my two oak trees in front of my house almost destroying them. They were supposed to just do a yearly trim. They look ridiculous even after 2 years. Woodland took no responsibility whatsoever and blamed it on the weather! The whole experience has been shocking that a company could mess up this bad. I paid $1200 and my trees will never be the same and they were a huge factor in my house looking as beautiful as it did. Even my neighbors and anyone who visits my house is shocked. read more

Illegally Trespassed and Damaged Property On Tuesday March 19th, 2019 Woodland Tree Service was contracted by my neighbor to trim branches overhanging his property line. Woodland cut two large limbs all the way to my tree trunk, one 14.5 feet over the property line and the other 12.25 feet over my property line. Neither the salesman, J.D. Rogers nor my neighbor had my permission written or verbal to come onto my property to trim my 50+ year old Water Oak Tree. When I called Woodland and left a message, J.D. called me back that evening and I explained the situation to him. J.D.'s first question was "Do you have any pictures of my crew on your property?" Luckily, my neighbor has a Ring Doorbell and I did have video of Woodland Tree Service in my flowerbeds and in my tree on my property. The crew damaged a roof-line shingle, created 5 large holes in my yard from falling limbs, and left saw dust all over my property and on the roof of my house. A week after dealing with my arborist and J.D., it was clear that no one wanted to be held responsible. I later contacted the office and was contacted by Jared Houston, Vice President, who said that he would put in a ticket and have a crew come fix the problem. That was over a week ago. I filled the holes myself, cleaned my own lawn, and am paying out of pocket to have my shingle fixed. Be careful using Woodland. Trespassing and damaging others' properties can be costly to the company and you. Be warned. read more

Cheap firewood but unfortunately it is not seasoned as promised. Wood is hard to burn, sizzles, and bubbling. When I cut the shrink wrap, significant amount of water was all over garage floor. Sent an email inquiring and received no response after almost two weeks. read more

I called Woodland about getting my trees trimmed recently. It was not long after a storm, so they said it might take time to have some one come out for a quote. I wasn't in a hurry so it was ok. Before I got home from work that day, the estimator had already been there and written up a quote, which was emailed to me the next day in a very clear and professional proposal. They were able to schedule me within 2 weeks. The day of the work, I was told they'd be out after lunch. I got a text at 12:15pm saying they'd be there at 12:40. They pulled up at 12:39. The crew was prompt, courteous, and worked quickly. They did excellent work trimming all that needed to be trimmed and cleaning up and chipping the limbs taken down. They also did an excellent job cleaning up the yard, driveway, and street. I would wholeheartedly recommend Woodland. They are highly professional and do excellent work. read more

We had Woodland Tree to our home for tree cleaning of 3 large oaks in the front. One we were very specific and the contract was written to the large branches that needed to be removed so it was not heavy on one side and had a greater chance of falling into our home. When we returned home, they had cut the wrong branches on the now Lopsided (towards our house) Main Oak. Our security cameras also indicated several large limbs crashing down on our front porch and on our landscaping. We also noticed one of the workers out of 3, was "resting" on the back trailer. We contacted our Sales Rep and he came immediately and was super nice and said that they had __ up! He offered to have them return and cut, NOW additional branches to even up the tree. He also offered to refund the tree trimming cost. It took over 2 months of follow-up to receive the refund and when I would call to reschedule the re-do, they said they would call me back. I asked for one of the owners to call me and the nice sales guy texted me many times and apologized and said he could not understand why they were acting like this and not returning my call. I filed a complaint w/ BBB and the Co said that I used profanity with their office staff and that they would not return. That is a blatant lie and only their excuse to not come and cut the remaining branches. They broke a brick at our entrance from falling limbs and they came back and used WHITE epoxy Glue vs mortar and not only does it stick out but after the first freeze it's free again!! We live in a prestigious part of MidTown and we all take great pride with our 100 plus year trees. It's ashamed they took such little pride in their work. We never received a call from either owner. There are plenty of other companies in Memphis... I would re-think on this one! read more

I called Woodland tree service on Monday around 2:00pm to get someone to give me an estimate on trimming some tree limbs hanging over my property. The lady who answered the telephone said I would be contacted by JD. Tuesday morning around 9:15 he called my home while I was out and left a message that said for me to call him at my convenience. I had left my home around 8:45 am and I was planning on being home around 2:30 pm in at that time I would have been able to talk to JD about setting up a time to come an give me an estimate. He decided to call me on my cell phone around 1:00pm to 1:30pm to talk. I answered my phone even though I was taking care of business at my real estate attorneys office. I was almost finished with my business at the attorneys office so I asked him if he could please call me back in 5 minutes. I never heard back from him and this is Thursday morning. I have called Woodland Tree several times to have someone come out and give an estimate on a tree removal as well as my neighbor wanted some items removed in his yard as well. Woodland Tree would not return my call. No made several calls to them to I guide as to when I would here something, only to get the same response from the young lady on the phone that someone in the back would be contacting me. Still two weeks later, no contact from them. I'll be looking into other tree services and you should too. read more

We used this company to get our trees removed from our backyard. Initially, everything was great. We received a quote and when we were ready, we were able to schedule the removal. It even ended up being earlier due to a cancellation. It all went down hill when one of our windows was cracked during the stump removal. Honestly, I wasn't concerned but they graciously offered to remove the window and replace it with a new one. Our trees were removed mid June. Our window was not replaced until today (8/3). During this time we were told July 1st, then July 5th because the window was cracked in transit, then it was a delay in communication where NO ONE called us even after they didn't show up. I was then told they were working on getting us a new window and it should be 3-5 days - that was July 11th. We constantly had to call different people for updates because the only excuse we kept getting is "The office is handling it" or "The window was cracked again". All blame was put on the window company. The last week in July/first week in August the receptionist (or whoever answers the phone) was caught in a lie saying the window was cracked AGAIN and they wasn't sure when it would be fixed. My husband and I decided that we just needed a window put in and that we would get the crack fixed so we asked for them to install the cracked window. The next day (8/3) the window was finally put in with NO CRACKS! I'm not sure what happened with the previous window(s) or who dropped the ball with communication but this entire ordeal was a headache to deal with! read more
