I've my parents, who enjoy gardening, to thank for introducing me to this spot. It used to be called Ballylesson Garden Centre but was renamed Cameron a couple of years ago. It's full of flowers, plants, trees, shrubs, garden furniture, BBQ equipment, bulbs, seeds, garden ornaments, gifts and plant pots. I love to browse and look at everything but have never bought anything (I don't do gardening!). However, my parents advise me it's expensive, so if you're into gardening you might want to visit Cameron Garden Centre for inspiration but possibly buy elsewhere. There's a lovely Cafe & Deli on site which serves scrumptious food. I've tried sandwiches, scones and salads over the years and the food has always been delicious. My gripe is that it's queue up to order and get your food. I hate this set up and much prefer table service, especially in a cafe like this where the food is of good quality. Plus Cameron's Cafe can be extremely busy and tables aren't cleared as quickly as I think they should be. The customer service definitely needs some work also as the Cafe staff are never very pleasant. Nonetheless, this place potentially could be great and a 5 star spot if they dropped prices a little and invested in some proper customer service training for their Cafe staff. The entrance is filled with a great range of scrubs and plants and hanging baskets of herbs. The cafe is conveniently located at the back where you have to pass through a gift shop of condiments and craft shop style presents. Seating area inside and out. The food is kept in heated glass cabinet so you can see before you choose. Lots of quiches, pasta and sandwiches with salad etc. All around £6-10 I enjoyed the food and look around after. Purchased some great plants for family. Would recommend both food and viewing.

The staff are very knowledgeable and are likely to know what you need and want before you even say it! We came here looking for saplings of trees to add to our garden, and they were able to tell us what trees would suit our garden best. Our reams of a chestnut tree were shattered as our ground wasn't likely to be fertile enough to support it, so we were guided to some lovely ash trees that were more suited to our garden! They have a wide range of hanging baskets, flowers and composting and fertilising materials, and will have everything you need to satisfy your gardening needs at reasonable prices!

My garden was beautiful though, with hanging baskets and planters overflowing with lovely flowers and trailing things. And I had the most fab garden candles and lights. Come to think of it, where have all those candles and lights gone?? The Potting Shed sells everything you could need to creates your own hanging baskets and planters, but that's really not for me. What if I had to touch the compost, or saw a worm? Thankfully, they also sell the most beautiful ready made planters and baskets which are crammed with lovely things like trailing honeysuckle. Even better, when the next spring rolls around, you can bring in your empty basket or planter and they will fill them without you having to pay for the container. Perfect. They also sell compost, lawn feeder stuff and gloves for any crazy fool who does want to create their own little bit of nature. Here's the bizarre bit, they have recently started selling furniture. It's really lovely white painted furniture at very reasonable prices, but I still find it weird. But as long as they keep filling my baskets, I'm happy.

There are not many garden centres you could have a full day out in, but you could with Dobbies…read more It's an amazing centre with everything you could possibly want including garden furniture, ornaments, summer houses, garden sheds, plants, bird tables and gardening equipment. Dobbies also have a fabulous restaurant and luxury food hall filled with delicious meals, desserts, wine and gourmet food. It can often be very busy and some items are not the cheapest, however for quality and selection it gets top marks.
