Stopped here on the way through Georgia for their specialy, Burnt Ends. They were sold out. Thought we would try the specials, both sold out. So we had some pulled pork brisket plates and they were mighty tasty. Wish we could have tried their specialty. Place was very clean and the service was excellent. Even had a little live guitar music in the bar when we were there. We will definitely go back if we happen through Valdosta again. Good going guys. read more

Been 3 times. 2outOf3 times was great. Only reason the 3rd was a little below standards was from the cook putting globs of mayo on the philly. So much so I couldn't eat it. Beyond that, everything is good. Great place to bring family and friends. read more

We ordered a veggie tray of four items to share...mac n cheese (yum), baked beans (double yum). Brunswick stew (added a few pieces of beef) And greens. That and an appetizer of burnt ends with various sauces, 2 Amber Boch beers and we were good to go. Cute place, about 1 year old, very clean and appealing decor. Bartender, Mary was friendly, informative and helped navigate thru our menu choices. We will definitely stop again. It's about time Valdosta got a barbecue restaurant that's serious about its brisket. And all of its meat, for that matter. I had a special - burnt ends (brisket) - and I tried out friends' ribs and pulled pork. All of these were extremely flavorful. You have a choice of six sauces that I'm pretty sure are homemade. They're more Carolina-style, with a vinegar and pepper kick usually. Also, you don't need any of them. The meat's too good on its own. Unfortunately, the sides are just okay. The fries are excellent - crispy, fresh out of the fryer, and seasoned well. While I get the mac n' cheese idea, there was something a bit pickle-ish about it, and it's not good. I tried it multiple times to make sure it wasn't a fluke, but no, the mac isn't good. Yams were decent but a little bland. They needed something else. Combine this with the fact that they just kinda run out of stuff to serve later at night - I know, it happens when you smoke stuff, but still - and it's not quite what it could be. It's so close, but they need some more consistency and some better sides. read more

Driving from Illinois to Florida, and suddenly found this amazing little restaurant in southern Georgia! Can't not stop and get some good BBQ while in Georgia right??? Needless to say, we were all very hungry and had an amazing bbq. We got ribs, pulled pork, sausages, and fried pickles. It was all delicious. We sat outside, and although we were the only ones, our waitress did a great job taking care of us. I highly recommend this little jewel in southern Georgia. read more

The guys at Woodstack BBQ Tavern know what they're doing! I have been exploring the menu over the last few months and I cant seem to find something that I don't care for. The specials are always on point, recently I tried their pickle brine fried chicken sandwich (soaked in pickle brine for 24 hrs) and wow! Awesome stuff. Burnt ends are always a go-to, as well as the BBQ ramen bowl served on Thursdays! Do yourself a favor and give this place a try next time you want BBQ in the Valdosta area. read more

You want BBQ done right this is the place, from the smell in the parking lot to the actual food set in front of you. I had the burnt ends, sausage, whole fried okra, and baked beans. The meats were smoked perfect didn't need sauce, but I still tried them all. They have a sauce for everyone's taste all very good. Whole fried okra (my first) was great. Baked beans with chunks of sausage very good. Sweet tea was just right, not to sweet good flavor. Mary our server was great, she had an answer for all my questions, very prompt and polite. This place was okay but suffered from drastically poor acoustics resulting in a deafening noise factor even when it was less than half full. The pulled pork was not bad but none of the sauces were particularly great, and the sides were all lacking something. Service was routine but reasonably attentive. If you don't mind the noise or go when there are very few people it's not too bad. If ranked for food alone I would have ranked 3.5-4. read more

Ordered takeout while passing through. Hostess was pleasant and food was ready on time. My wife and I got the burnt end sandwiches. Flavor was good but both of our sandwiches had a lot more fat than meat. Tots were crispy and really good. Mac and cheese was mediocre, little runny and lacking flavor. LOVED everything about this place! From the atmosphere to the food! I got a pulled pork sandwich that had a delicious smokey flavor. For my side I ordered macaroni and cheese and it's some of, if not the best I've ever had!! Any restaurant owned by this group is worth the visit! Wow! Found this awesome BBQ place driving south on I75. We first tried the burnt ends of beef brisket for our appetizer, yum yum yum! Next the two of us shared a pick three--sausage, pulled pork, St.Louis ribs, collard greens, and coke slaw. Everything was delicious and we are a little picky! The big surprise was just how good the sausage was! We were so full we had to get to go boxes along with our blueberry fried pie for later. Based on Yelp reviews we stopped for dinner while traveling, it was 6:30 on a Friday night. Keep Driving! Brisket was so dry sauce couldn't help it. Braised greens could've been good, but had too much vinegar. Fried okra and potato salad was ok. Ribs were also dry, and not very meaty. All I can say is WOW!!! Some of the best brisket I have ever had. Service was friendly attentive and fast. Great sides and homemade pickles that were very unique and flavorful. Between my friend and I we didn't find anything to complain about. Prices were very reasonable and without a doubt if passing through we will make sure it is around lunch or dinner so we can stop in and have a great meal. Great staff, nice atmosphere, now to the food, ribs... meaty, good flavor, a little crisp on the edges...chicken good flavor moist, baked beans too thin of sauce and not a lot of flavor, mac and cheese a little dry for my licking, turnip greens were flavor and tender, Sauces more towardsthe mustard base. The 2 tomato based one was spicy other just ok both were thinner than I like. Sorry you will not see me back here again. This is a great stop off the road. Tucked away and a little hard to see but it is minutes from I 75 and worth the quick side trip. Burnt Ends sell out quickly so come early if you want some of this decadence. I ordered the Woodstack Cuban and it was excellent. It is a pork meets bbq version of a traditional Cuban, and very good. Don't go if you want service. I was there Sunday afternoon. There were only three tables occupied. Our server came to the table to take our order, we ordered a pimento cheese appetizer, an iced tea, and a draft beer. The waiter left, my wife went to the restroom, and as she got back her iced tea was served. My beer had not come, our waiter was filling the barbecue sauce bottles. Their customer service was great, very friendly and knowledgeable on menu items. The barbecue however was okay. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't amazing either. There wasn't any seasoning just smoked, so if you like that then you'll love this! I just prefer for my BBQ to be both, seasoned and smoked. I got the brisket while my friend got the pork. Stopped here because the highway signs advertised Burnt Ends. We have only had burnt ends one time that we considered to be amazing. We have been looking for the same ever since but "amazing" has been elusive. The burnt ends at Woodstack were ok, but not amazing. Too fatty IMO. The wings were really good and the fried okra was probably the best I've had. Everything else was good but not good enough to put it on our list of "must stop" places when we're traveling. read more
