They have 3 types of bbq sauce mild med and hot. I got the mild and medium. It had a kick to it but I loved it ! I ordered the fib tops they gave me a lot and 2 sides Cole slaw and bbq bean. Woody's is misleading in their menu and prices. If I order a slab of pork ribs I should get the full slab tips and all and that is how it was in the past. Now they're selling St Louis ribs as a slab for the same price. Woody's needs to make it known on the menu that you're getting St Louis ribs. I went on Memorial Day after 3 PM. They were not that busy and the staff were really nice but they got my order wrong. I ordered the three meat combination for about $25. I asked for pork ribs, sliced beef and beef links. I was told they only had chicken links so I asked for more pork ribs and instead they said OK. First, let me say that the service was pleasant. Don't expect to dine in. This is an order-grab-and-go establishment. Which isn't a bad thing. I ordered the beef ribs with sauce on the side and chicken links. The beef ribs were overcooked and barely had meat on the bone and not worth the price. The chicken sausage had a wonderful taste. Their service is absolutely terrible, and their customer service is even worse. It was honestly disgusting to watch the clerk deny the FIRE DEPARTMENT their order the day before THANKSGIVING. A young firefighter simply wanted to place a food order for his station so he and his coworkers could eat before responding to another call, and he was adamantly refused. The clerk told him he "would not receive special service because he's the fire department," even though he wasn't asking for anything special -- just basic service like every other paying customer. What makes it even more disappointing is that I live just a few houses down, and I vividly remember the fire department saving this same business during a holiday -- either Christmas or Thanksgiving -- about 3-4 years ago. To see the same firefighters disrespected like this, especially around the holidays, is truly shameful. I personally told the young man from Truck 57 to never return to this business again. They clearly don't value the people who risk their lives to protect our community. read more

The food was delicious! I had a taste for some BBQ chicken and ribs. The sauce was spicy although I asked for mild. The chicken was so tender and the ribs were delicious! The sides were good too. The only thing I didn't like was that they put onion in the potato salad, even no mustard was okay. If they buy it they should buy one with mustard and no onions. The beans were good too. Upon entering the establishment, the place was really clean and well put together. You cannot eat inside. This is a "To Go" business for sure. Staff was friendly and welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed the music while waiting. I ordered a brisket sandwich that came with a side. My side selection was the Baked Beans and another side of Potato Salad. Cost was roughly $14.00 and change. Unfortunately the food just didn't do it for me and here's why: I ordered a sandwich! Didn't get a sandwich. I got meat and two pieces of bread. The bread wasn't super dry, but didn't taste fresh. The devil is in the details. My recommendation is to switch the practice to a Brioche or other style of bun. The tenderness of the meat was not there. It was a little tough. I would probably investigate the meat supplier or the process to make the meat more tender. The sauce was just basic. Nothing special or creative about the sauce. Maybe add honey or a little spice. Needs something different that's not available on a shelf; something that would make me want to spend my money here again. Back in the day my parents would fire up the grill. Mom always made homemade potato salad, but the beans came from a can. I cannot say for sure, but I swear these beans are canned. They taste very processed. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth. The potato salad was decent. Just bland and nothing special. I was raised in this community. I passed this establishment for years walking to and from school. I've never seen it packed or crowded. This places has always been closed or burned. Although my opinion is honest, I'd love to drive by and see a line around the corner. The older lady who took my order looked at me as if she was wondering why we were even there to spend our money. She was rude, unhelpful, and completely unwelcoming. Even my 7-year-old daughter noticed and asked me what her problem was, then commented, 'The customers are nicer than the workers'--and she's only seven! When a child can pick up on the bad attitude, that speaks volumes. To make matters worse, the food wasn't even worth it. Last time I went I had called ahead, was told it be 15 minutes. Showed up about 20 minutes front the call, waited about 10 minutes in line to get to register and order was still not ready. Had to wait about 20 more minutes and finally asked again, this time I cut to the front of the line to ask. Server went to the back and I heard her say to someone "here it is". All in all, I was there for about 30 minutes and had a bunch of people order while I was there, some really large family orders, and they got their food before I did even though I had called ahead. Woodys bbq is a hood staple at least as far as I'm concerned. Now I won't say I can't make better bbq but I can. Not taking anything away from them they provide what alot of other bbq spots cant and that's flavor. They have some decent flavor. On this Labor day I went to their Crenshaw slauson location only to find out there was a line going around the block. I wasn't having it. I drove over to this location and there was about 5 people in line. I can lice with that so I grabbed one of their small platters.
