Inside, two shelves well stocked with books. Many look like beach reads including thrillers and mysteries and even some romance. A great selection. The caption reads, "We live in a resort town where our population of 8,500 people balloons to 300,000 during the summertime. Many people, who stay at nearby ocean high-rises, use our street to walk, because it's long, straight, and it's located near the bay and wetlands, so the views are awesome. Just off main street, you'll walk in to a beautiful room with walls of books surrounding you. But the first thing you'll see is the astounding art scattered around the walls. Truly lovely paintings (my favorites involved dogs) that made you feel like you were in a really elevated store. There were different book selections, though it wasn't too overwhelming that you had analysis paralysis in what to choose. THE STORY. We were chatting with the owner, who mentioned that she had written a book the previous year called Death is My Life. And she was describing her life who were really struck with everything that she had been through and bought ourselves a copy. Her significant other was in the back room doing the accounting and he was just as friendly. It was so lovely seeing these two people, and they really mentioned their appreciation that we stomped by not only to support a local bookstore, but to support a local bookstore in the off-season. We chatted a bit about what books were good, and ended up buying two that we'll read while here and on the plane ride back home. Do yourself a favor. Stroll through main Street, stop in this beautiful little bookstore, and buy a book to keep the spirit of this town going strong.

With a curated collection of the top rated Fiction and Non-Fiction Best Sellers constantly updated and shelved in order, staff picks marked with detailed notes on every area, and categories curated for every reader to find their genre. I love to peruse their World History, Religion, and Non-Fiction sections... my preferred beach read is an Erik Larson book or a nice leadership selection! Bethany Beach Books also constantly has renowned authors come in to the bookstore for signings. You can see the full season of authors decorating the ceiling. For our week trip, they had a different author everyday! The value is right on top. Not significantly marked up and honestly.. remember that you are paying for the curation too! Every sale is topped off with a complementary bookmark... and these are collector items with cute Bethany Beach graphics each season. Support your local book store!

I found out about this bookstore from one of my favorite authors who had stopped in and signed a bunch of books! The bookstore is crowded like it's filled to the brim with books so much so that there are piles on the floor. It was pretty organized! There was something pretty niche my fiancé was looking for that they didn't have but otherwise I feel like they had a good selection! They had quite a few workers and there was never a long line! I also liked that they gave out bookmarks with the purchase! There was an author outside signing her book so I ended up picking that up! They did have a lot of cool gifting stuff and I also picked up postcards here as there really wasn't a souvenir style shop that had actual Bethany merch. I'm my favorite part of the store is the little "rotunda" ? Not sure if you can call it that but all in all this place was pretty great!
