At Calvary Churches, they teach the unadulterated Word of God! I encourage anyone seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus to find a BIBLE teaching church (like RMC) and get planted. Look for ways in which you and your family can get plugged in. You don't go to church to be entertained - that's the way of the world. Let the Holy Spirit do a work in you. This isn't a church where there are "celebrity" pastors. There aren't smoke blowing machines, fancy light shows, comedian pastors, slick willy hipster type leaders who are up on stage putting on a show. The Holy Spirit is at work in the lives/hearts of people who desire to be holy as God is holy in which the Holy Spirit works through the obedience of God's people rather than their sacrifices. Older age groups like jr. high and high school have smaller (in comparison but still large) areas where they are taught similar lessons as the main service just better suited to their age groups. This allowing after service everyone can talk about what they learned and be on the same page! They offer Bible studies and events for noon Sunday activities and do all sorts of fun things that still are helping learn the Bible and its teachings. I attended several churches before finding Academy Christian Church (ACC; Old Ranch Road location) and each one had too many things that kept me from feeling it was the right place for me to attend. I was searching for a welcoming Jesus focused, Biblically honest and true church where the worship and praise was participatory, not presentation like a concert and the songs gave glory to God, not me. The first time I arrived at ACC the doors were opened for me and I was greeted by several members and made to feel welcome. The worship and praise time was perfect and the sermon was true to Scriptures. I've been attending for 3 1/2 months and not once have I felt like an outsider - I've been made to feel like family. While they offer services online every week, I prefer the in-person experience. They have 2 locations, the Old Ranch Road & Voyager main location and another off of West Pikes Peak Avenue. Who visits church's and then leaves hateful reviews about them? These are God loving people, not perfect but we all do our best to help the community and the places we are partnered with. Pastor Stewart is a wonderful speaker and really relates to his audience getting the biblical message across. Highly recommend fellowship of the Rockies.
