I took a wrong turn and ended up in this plaza, and when I saw there was a World Market I decided it was meant to be and stopped in. There's plenty of parking available in the lot and the store is very large. Right now they have all of their holiday items out including candy, treats, ornaments, decorations, and more. A good portion of the store is dedicated to these specialty items right now. I did a quick loop and grabbed some World Market brand olives (they're great) along with some seasonal candies to use as small presents since I don't always get the chance to shop without my significant other. I decided not to go overboard this visit and went to the checkout. It was a Tuesday afternoon, but I think they must not have had enough employees in for the day because there was one poor employee at the register with a line of people. It looks like they have capacity for six check out stations but only had the one open. I ended up spending more time in line than I did shopping and made the mistake of picking up a couple more items near the checkout line without having a basket to hold them. Next time I'll grab a basket. Overall it's a nice store with a large selection, just be ready to wait in line for a while. read more

First, I checked Bed, Bath, And Beyond which is next door to World Market; however, their inventory lacked EVERYTHING what I needed or wanted-sad . . . Next~Let's sashay checking World Market's inventory: While perusing World Market, I must first stop and taste the coffee and tea brewing . . . Lovely. Afterwards, cruise towards the left rear of World Market checking the current wine and food in stock. Proceed towards the right side of World Market investigating all the furnishings then, checking the QC for clothing and bath products. What are these I noticed from the corner of my POV???? Very disappointed in dishonest service I normally enjoy shopping at World Market, but my experience today left a very bad impression. There was a free promotion for the cute little mushroom cups -- which, according to the ad, came in several colors. I asked if I could get a red one instead of the brown, and the employee told me very firmly that World Market only gives away items they have "too much of," and that they only had brown ones. That turned out to be completely untrue. Moments later, I saw another customer walk out with one of the colored mugs that I had specifically asked about. It's incredibly frustrating to be lied to instead of simply being told the truth or having someone take a moment to check. I don't expect special treatment -- just honesty and a little effort. As a paying customer who shops here often, I really don't appreciate being brushed off like that. World Market, please train your staff to provide accurate information and better customer service. Today I went into world market to purchase a few items and pick up an online order. As I was waiting in line, I was called to the Check down by a girl named Kim who had a mask on. I did not hear her say she could help me she repeated herself. I then said I'm sorry I did not hear you. She gave me the most dagger mean look I've ever seen then I said I'd like to speak to a manager and she said well you made a complaint about my mask. I said no I didn't. I said I could not hear you how terrible and how bad customer service has gotten world market has really changed. They're not the store they used to be customer. Service Stinks something should be done about the young girl named Kim. If she's going to wear a mask, she needs to be better at addressing her customers. I'm sure the manager did nothing because most of them don't again. I worked in retail and I know how it is. I ended up having to stop at this particular Cost Plus location because they have some Hello Kitty merchandise that my local store was sold out of. I placed my online order and waited for the text to tell me my order is ready for pick up. I arrive and am greeted by both the cashier and the manager. I informed the manager I was picking up a online order. I let him know that I wanted to look around for a few more items and he he said, that fine and to let him know after I picked extra items. I found even more Hello Kitty\Sanrio items that again my local Cost Plus didn't carry. After I was finished, I tell the manager know and low and behold I didn't have to wait in the long line lol. He rang me up and handed me my online order and I was out the door. That's great customer service and much appreciated. I did knock off a star because some of the employees didn't know where some of their items were located? Maybe it was seasonal help? Overall, I had a great customer service experience from beginning to end. read more

What can I say about this place, I could spend practically all day in here and upon recent visit seeing they have a Hello Kitty Collection all on sale for 50%..things may have gotten a little out of hand lol! As a child it was my favorite and now having a daughter I can now share that love with her and she wants all and everything Hello Kitty! I purchased gift wrap, a Christmas stocking and a cup with a straw for her birthday, Happy 45th Anniversary Hello Kitty! I would most highly recommend this location, they have a great rewards program, I saved 15% off my purchase for signing up and received a Hello Kitty Cutie Beans! I normally wouldn't do this but I feel like it's necessary and a manager needs to speak to their employees. Yesterday after grabbing lunch with my grandmother we came to world market and we're both browsing around. My grandma is 80 years old but doesn't look it... she doesn't sign up for things often like rewards or credit cards... etc. I can't remember the exact employees name but while shopping, this employee named Sheryl or Shelly, kept pushing my grandma to sign up for the rewards. Again* while shopping! Not checking out. Just browsing. Once I walked over I made it clear, my grandma doesn't want to sign up, nor does she need to. She doesn't shop often, I'm her out and about driver, we're just filling the day up and came here to look. The other employee Vickie was sweet during check out and knew how to treat someone so old. Not-so-nice customer service While I'm a patient person my patience isn't infinite. I came to the store today with my daughter because I love their merchandise and enjoy looking inside the store. While I wasn't planning on buying anything I did find some Hello Kitty items marked 50% off so I proceeded to load up my cart with a few things. This review is for our experience at check out. First off it's the tone of the voice of this gal that didn't sit right with me. She was rude and not very friendly at all, she didn't even crack a smile as she rang my three items. When I questioned one of the items she rang that read at full price she said they they weren't on sale and that they sold those all the time and wasn't on clearance. Okay, but couldn't you have said that nicely instead of making me look like an idiot. I found it included with the rest of the HK stuff. I asked her nicely to remove it from my purchase. Then she rang up the Hello Kitty cookie jar. As she was covering the item with paper the top came off and fell. I heard it fall on the lower level of the register counter but she didn't check to see if it caused it to chip or crack and didn't even say anything. Ugh! Hello Kitty's head came off! She was also getting upset when my credit card was having issues with the chip on the card. Ugh! Byeeeee! I kept quiet the whole time at check out. I didn't know that my teen was observing the whole thing. Outside, on our way to the car, my daughter mentioned that the girl was not nice and rude. I just said "I know." This is my first time going to Cost PlusWorld Market and I enjoyed being there. The store carries wide varieties of items overseas from groceries to furniture. I really don't shop at the store anymore because most the stuff they have is useless and prices have gone way up (see picture)... But I do like some of their holiday stuff...Last year got a couple glass pumpkins And wanted to add one more to my collection. I went online because they offer 10% off for curbside pick up. I specifically ordered a orange swirl Pumpkin. Went to pick it up a man brought me a bag and I didn't check it until I got home... It was a solid orange. I already have that one. So I went online and ordered another one in The swirl pattern since I was going to be out of town the next day and wasn't able to get there. Before I left I called the store after they pulled it and they said it was a swirl. Today I went back with the wrong one of course my phone decides to die and charger not working. I go in the store and they give me the new one but this time I opened it up and it's still not the right one so I went to find the right one which was there. The other one because I couldn't bring my receipt up on phone they had me take it home again when they just could give me a credit. The sales person mumbled some thing about how I'm wasting peoples time by ordering online and the manager she was OK but I think she should've offered me a store credit so I don't have to go back for the THIRD time (How did she know I didn't live in Auburn) which I don't plan on going I'll just give it away for a gift. Anyway I rate them probably almost 0 now. They were probably the downfall of bed bath and beyond. SIARA was patient, professional, kind and truly went above and beyond to accomplish my return. Even when the manager who appeared to be bothered on her break to "help" (she didn't help much) SIARA was poised and handled the entire transaction like a true pro! Thank you, SIARA! Five stars because I absolutely love this place! First of all, the cost plus world market rewards program is super cool. You get text messages giving you free items from the store and discounts on merchandise too. Secondly, I love that most of their items are imported from other countries; hence the term world market. I may sound childish but I love their candy section; you can find candy bars and candies you can't find anywhere else like the Lion bar. The lion bar is a candy bar from London and tastes like a 100 grand candy bar with milk chocolate, crispy rice and caramel yum! They have a whole section with foods and dessert type foods, a beauty section (I always buy the watermelon facial mask pack); it leaves your skin healthy and glowing, a bed and bath section, a toy and book section for kids, lots of kitchen items, furniture and so much more. Plus the customer service here is outstanding. I always come across the nicest workers who are very accommodating and helpful too. I love coming here just to browse as well and not to mention I never leave the store empty handed. This is one of my favorite places to shop at for sure!! read more

I was looking for hard to come by items in the stores in San Jose and when I called the Roseville store Jeanine was the pleasant associate who made it easy for me to decide to drive the 2 hr 20 min to her store. She clearly stated all the boxes would be marked and ready for pick up. And I was the second shopper in the doors and as stated Jeanine had all my items by the door. I always love the selection of snacks and goodies they have here. This is the first place I go to if I want some cool looking kitchen items too. It's one of the bigger World Markets I have been in and its pretty organized even late in the day. As you can see from the photos they went in and changed the email. But it was all my fault? They did contact me and admit the error in the ad. They offered to give me the discount but I had already purchased something else. This was much better customer service. read more

I have bought furniture here many times and the quality and look works great. I love dropping in randomly and seeing the different items you don't see at other stores. We recently redid our office and used our dining table as a desk. I needed another dining table to match (matching desks) but they were out and no one within a 100 mile radius had any. I really like this new larger Cost Plus location! Definitely better then the old small store with this one being larger and bright with a lot of natural light. They have a great selection of everything because of the additional space; wall art, jewelry, accessories, stationary, furniture, seasonal, lighting, textiles, food, wine, kitchen decor, etc! I love coming here because they have really great sales and coupons! I regularly get 10% and $10 off coupons that I can use in the store. I really like their shower curtains, scarves, wall decor and seasonal area. Everyday prices are good too, very competitive. Employees are always friendly and seem to be plentiful around the store. Sometimes the checkout line can back up, but they really do try to expedite everything. Parking is easy and plentiful and it's located right across the street from the mall which is very convenient. I have been shopping at Cost Plus for 10+ years and will continue to shop here for the good prices and the above average quality of their merchandise. I felt so bad for the employees at this store. This place was a mess the employees were working hard while what looked like management just stood around. I stood in a line that was so long it was almost to the door. The line wasn't the problem as it is the Holiday season, this store had only one register open while at least 50 of us stood in line. Finally another register opens and the poor employee didn't get the required lunch time or break. I heard the employee ask the manager nicely if they could go home on time sence they didn't get the required time off, this manager was so rude it was hard to keep my mouth shut. Love this place. Its a great place for different kinds of goods and food. From local and Internationally. Join the club and get emailed coupons for discounts and other things. When I come here I feel like a kid in a candy store. I want to buy everything. The staff is usually friendly and helpful. My only gripe and the reason for deducting 1 star is because I had purchased some Zapp's chips and it was expired and smelled when I opened the bag. I love the new building! The new set up is beautiful and spacious and, I think, easier to find things than in the old location. On Black Friday I showed up 15 minutes before they opened and still made it early enough to get one of the free Downton Abbey mugs they were giving out to the first 100 customers. Cost Plus knows how to make customers happy. Not only did I get the mug for free, but they were giving out free sample cups of hot coffee on that cold morning, free biscuit cookies, and a free reusable bag when you spent $20 or more. That was easy to do with all of the great deals and products they have in the store. read more

I am very aware that Covid 19 may have affected my order such as a delay, but I have waited almost 4 months for mine and was told over customer service they decided to cancel my order.. when I asked for a refund I was informed I would be getting one. Another month has passed without my money back. Also this was on the website that said Modesto CA, which I couldn't find so I am writing a review here. Employee's are always friendly and helpful. It's rare to come across a company that still practices good customer service, and World Market definitely falls into that category. Reasonable prices (in my opinion), and a great selection of furniture you won't find anywhere else, as well as a great selection of wines and other hard to find food and drink. My spouse and I frequent this location primarily because of the friendly and helpful staff, but also because of the great and unique furniture that can be procured from this store. Went in for Clearly Canadian which is still represented on the website as avaialable in stores. After wandering around for several minutes without any greetings or offers of assistance I asked a group of 4 associates that did not appear to be engaged in anything. An associate that appeared to be in management responded to my question with a loud "ennnttt, nope. Sold out company wide in a day and a half." I found her response to be rude and inconsiderate. I called to speak with customer service at corporate and was made to feel it was my fault to expect items listed as in stores on the website to be available somewhere. This item should be removed from the website if it is out of stock company wide. It is a rude and inconsiderate scheme to get people in the door. I really like this store and have fallen in love with Cost Plus again. I have purchased some items for my home recently, including a chair for my computer desk from Macys. They seem to be better than they used to be. I love the bath items and the kitchen section. Decorative items on a budget.
