I recently attended The Siren Masquerade Ball here which was quite lovely though very warm since it was on one of the hottest nights of the year and this is an open air venue. What a pretty space to decorate though and the organizers did such a great job making everything so lovely. The sound from the band really bounces off all the buildings and doing anything here really is just an experience you should have at least once. The staff seemed very sweet and respectful to the guests and the drink and food lines flowed so fast - though the drink prices are a bit stiff. read more

The World Trade Center in Portland was so very accommodating to our utterly massive group of conference goers. The place was always spotless (bathrooms too!) I'm not sure if it's always decorated the way it was for us, but it was a welcome touch. read more

The first World Trade Center was of course in New York, This branch of the association is three buildings on three blocks. There are WTC branches all over the world they are all part of a club seeking " Peace through trade" Of the buildings only one is verry tall the rest short It is a nice complex located facing waterfront park. The complex has a nice (and large) auditorium. read more

We held our annual Non-Profit gala fundraiser here in December. It was a nice looking space (beams decorated with lights). The appetizers were tasty and plentiful. The buffet was setup with two lines so there wasn't congestion and the food was pretty good. Main problems: This is basically an outdoor venue. It is open to the air and since it was mid December it was extremely cold, the heaters did not adequately compensate. This caused a lot of people to leave early or huddle under the heaters. It also chilled the food really quickly. The support beams made it difficult to see and hear the presentation. I would like to the venue in the Fall or Spring but I imagine this place is extremely hot in the summer. read more

I have 8+ years experience in the event industry, so this review is coming from a perspective from someone experienced with event flow, design, staffing, and food safety. I recently attended a tech summit put on my an international IT/Print company. It was a very warm fall day, not so typical in Portland. Outside the temp was about 75, so inside the venue it was about 10 degrees warmer and the sun was beating down and numerous people were sweating as the event was from about 10am to 2pm. You should be aware that the atrium like room is much like a greenhouse. Over the years I have seen people actually become ill from the heat at summer events. I've been attending events at this venue since 1999. The staff at this event: At this event I actually saw a catering staff member (he's worked there for years) almost cause a guest to leave. The guest simply asked him where the coffee was and he said, "Get out of my way." The guest I believe went and complained as he was downright pissed after being spoken to like this. I've seen this catering employee treat other guests poorly, particularly at a wedding back in 2009, so I'm kind of appalled he still works there. The other issue, this was a professional event, and I shouldn't be able to see staff's underwear. I heard another patron comment on a staff member as her hair was barely pulled back and pieces of her hair were actually in the potato salad - I'm dead serious! Another staff member also was wearing her white shirt with a bright pink bra underneath, and her hair was falling out of her ponytail, this is simply unprofessional. The food at this event: Here's where my major concern is. It was so warm in the event space and they didn't have cold cut meets, cheese, mayo, and the potato salad on ice (at least when I went through the buffet line). The meat was actually as warm as the room when I bit into my sandwich. The mayo had a film over it and was also warm, guarantee it was not at the right temp to serve. The presentation was downright sad. It looked like someone just threw the buffet together. The meat/cheese and condiments could make someone sick because of the temps, simply not okay. I am aware of how much it costs to rent and cater an event at The World Trade Center and I cannot say I would recommend the venue or catering to a wedding or corporate client. read more

Nice place for a wedding & reception! Our wedding was held outside in the covered patio outside the main entrance, and the reception was upstairs with a great view of the river. The event staff there were all very helpful and extremely nice... it was great all around! read more

WOW! My (now) husband and I had both our ceremony and reception at the World Trade Center in portland in February of this year. Marcelene, the onsite event coordinator, was an absolute delight to work with. She has decades of experience in the wedding industry and has a lot of wonderful ideas and tips to share - if you want them! She was very careful to let our dreams shine, and only offer advice if she was asked :) Mike, the catering manager, has been there for 15(ish) years and knows the ins and outs of the entire site. My entire bridal party and all of our family was very impressed with Mike and his team both the night of our wedding as well as through the coordination process. Lorne is the banquet manager (i think i have these role titles accurate) - and is an absolute dream. We had a couple day-of changes that he helped us work though without causing additional stress or concern to any of us involved. He was always a step ahead of us as he, too, has been at the WTC for 17(ish) years and has done MANY events onsite. PROS: the food: AMAZING. Everyone loved the food. We had the Cali Cut Loin, Jamaican Jerk Pork and Cedar Plank salmon. Everything was delectable. I know they always say brides never get to eat on their wedding day... let's just say i made a point of it! the staff: each server and the aforementioned staff went out of their way to make our day super special. Mike even helped coordinate a bit onsite with the DJ to help keep things moving. the venue: we had our ceremony on the mezzanine level, overlooking the atrium. the space is small, which was perfect for our 140 person event. the chairs (chivari) were a beautiful accent to the space. The reception was on the Sky Bridge Terrace. The photos on this site do not do the space justice. It was absolutely breath-taking, and as one of my guests said, it was a fairytale space with the lights wrapped around each column. Parking: parking is onsite in the garage. our guests did not have to move once we got everyone downtown for the reception. and it was inexpensive to park. the price: granted we got married off season, but in comparison to the other locations we explored, the WTC was exceptionally reasonable, and even offered a military discount on the space in honor of my husband's career choice. Location: we lucked out with weather and were able to take pictures outside along the waterfront as well as within the venue. it was a perfect mix! Cons: Public: some of the space is always accessible by the public. this came into play when the groom and his groomsmen had some random lady walk in off the street to use the restroom. While there are signs that say "no public restroom" - just be aware that it can happen. Our guys had a good laugh with it, but i am grateful it didn't happen with the bridal party room! read more

I came here for Toast 2014, and I was not at all disappointed with the facillities. It was a perfect spot for a smallish event (~300 people) and allowed some 30 vendors to display and share their wares without too much crowding. The semi-outdoor area was great, plenty of sunshine and fresh air, although it did carry with it an errant bee which luckily just turned out to be a funny moment rather than someone getting an Epipen. The facilities were in good repair and never seemed cheap, the security staff present were professional and unobtrusive. I'd be glad to come back. read more

Attended a wedding and reception here. Beautiful view of the river, nicely decorated inside, decent apps, good bar staff. If I was gonna have a big old party and have it catered and whatnot. This would definitely be a locale I would get a bid from. read more

If you use their parking structure beware the attendant doesn't steal your money... I paid the five dollar parking fee when I pulled up and watched two other cars in front of me do the same. Then when I went to leave a different attendant said I owed five dollars because my pass wasn't validated. It turns out the first attendant gave me an unvalidated pass, but still took my money. The second attendant would not believe me and made me pay another five dollars before letting me out of the structure. I find this ridiculous and upsetting. read more

The venue is beautiful and the food was very good. The staff, however, was sorely lacking. My son and now daughter-in-law chose WTC last spring for their wedding. Their wedding coordinator was helpful and attentive. But then she left and they were handed off to someone else....Lauren, I think? Who was not in touch and never available, except when it was time to make a payment. And to tell them they hadn't ordered enough food. So they doubled the order, which is fine....you want to have too much food, not enough. But damn, the staff started circling before people even finished eating, snatching up plates and not giving us a chance to go back for seconds. I had a half finished plate in front of me and a fork in my hand when the server tried to clear it away. At another table they swept up all the silverware and when my brother asked for his fork back she just picked some random fork off the tray and handed it to him. Really?? Tacky, unprofessional and very disappointing. And all that extra food they were told to order? I'm not sure what happened to it. The kids didn't get it.....I hope the staff took it home or someone gave it to the homeless. I sure hope they didn't spend all that extra money just to have it thrown away. The good thing and the bad thing about being the only open-air, multi-kiosk e-station in town is the groupies are always there chit-chatting. Its good if you are also an e-nerd: new friends to talk to. Its good if you are new to the e-charing life: the groupies DO have all the great intel and are HAPPY to share all their knowledge with you. Its bad when you just want to get in, charge and get on with your life. Oh well, small price to pay. Careful to make sure you get your parking ticket -- spend the 50 cents for the 15 minutes a charge will take. Be nice and don't stay parked after your charge capacity is reached. I got stuck in a business meeting one day and returned to my car about an hour after it finished charging (and an hour later than I expected to return). There on my windshield was the meanest, full of cuss words notes I had ever seen let alone received -- angry I had overstayed my charging. Maybe one oof those groupies has a mean streak ??! read more

An attractive event and business venue close to downtown and Old Town Portland.

Went here for "Toast 2012" event put on by the Oregon Distillers Guild. The event was awesome and the venue World Trade Center 2 "Level 3 Skybridge" was second to none! If you have to go here for an event...you wont be disappointed by the venue! read more

Where do I even begin? First we had to work with three different event coordinators. They kept switching it up on us and each time we had to explain everything all over. Their communication is horrible. The current event coordinator is no longer present on weekend events so the information that was once explained to her is now relayed to a event manager that was never present at any of the meetings or attached in any of the email communications. So he ends up asking the our day of family wedding coordinator. Everything was just so confusing and was not efficient. Next they tend to stretch the truths about certain things. We had our wedding in the beginning of October. This October was a bit cooler than most. They told us that the heaters and fans will be accessible. When we got up to the bridge for our reception it was freezing. Everyone was complaining. When asked if we could turn the heat on, they said it would cost an extra $300 to get the engineer back to turn it on! Really?! This was new information to us. We didn't pay the extra charge for it. But supposedly they said someone told them to turn it off and it was our fault. Who in their right mind would tell someone to turn off the heat in 50 degree storm weather? We never said that. So I felt like they were trying to turn the blame towards us. I was really infuriated at that point. When bringing this up to the event coordinator she pretty much phrased it like well it's all ready over and we didn't charge you anything so what do you want us to do about it? I felt like that comment was very rude and uncalled for. Food was decent. We have a lot of dietary restrictions in our family that needed gluten free products. Being a type A I confirmed all the menu items two weeks before the wedding and had them label all the gluten free options. I even made my own menu labeling those items. Well they ended up screwing up and one of the entrees they used regular porter beer that has gluten in it. Supposedly it was only in the sauce but if they braised the meat in the beer, it would also be in the meat. Again it was just the lack of paying attention to the details.... Overall the experience was not good. They screwed up the invoice several times, but would correct it when we pointed it out. So if you decide to have your wedding here (which I do not recommend) make sure you check your invoice very closely or an extra parking pass or cocktails will show up without your authorization. It's just a shame because the venue itself is very elegant and beautiful. Just lack of communication and professionalism. read more

I got married this summer, and the ceremony and reception were held at the World Trade Center. I was originally drawn to the WTC by its appearance and atmosphere. My then-fiance wanted to get married outside, I did not want to risk getting rained out or having to switch to a backup plan at the last minute (it ended up pouring the day before and after our wedding, thanks Portland). The WTC has a great balace of feeling very open with the covered patio for ceremonies and glass-walled atrium for receptions, an amazing view of the downtown waterfront, and a cool architectural design that looks great rain or shine, day or night. This is the opposite of the dark, cookie-cutter balroom I was dreading. Danya, the wedding coordinator was great, promptly returning phone calls and emails, working around my schedule for meetings, and providing recommendations on vendors. They have an in-house executive chef for all the catering, and provide all the tables/linens/dancefloor etc. The food was creative and delicious, a rare find on the wedding scene. Mike, the catering manager, took great care of us on the day of the wedding, and everything exceeded our expectations. When you consider all the rentals being included, no hidden fees for cake-cutting etc, and discounts for off-day or off-season events, it was very affordable too. My husband and I got everything we wanted and more; I would highly recommend the WTC! read more
