My son, Jeremiah, has gained so much from Master Park's teachings so far. We decided to give Taekwondo a chance June 2021 because a year into quarantine during the pandemic was starting to take a toll on my son's mental and physical health. I worked near the old studio for many years and would drive by it everyday. While choosing this particular Taekwondo school was borne out of convenience, I'm so happy with our choice. Master Park is no doubt a good teacher and mentor. The problem lies in his business practices. He forces you to buy his equipment, even though we've told him we're buying the same equipment from his old pupils. We want to stay on the month to month plan, but he keeps raising the monthly fee. He keeps suggesting to commit to the green belt or black belt contract, which I won't sign as I know in the future, we travel alot and would no doubt miss a month or two, hence we want to stay on the monthly plan. I would watch out for his nickel and diming, unfortunately. read more

Master park is a descent teacher, but my son didn't feel to comfortable with him, a little too rude when talking, I'm a tough parent and do not baby my kids, however for someone that is supposed to mentor and teach discipline, he may also want to practice humility when it comes to his position and a Little more gentle but strong way of communicating We signed my 7 year son last year and was told we were buying the lifeTime package which we already ordered and paid thousands so far, On top of Park ordering my sons black belt program uniform which we paid extra for and was way too big and when we Ask to return he seemed too busy and ignored us twice about it. It's was a size for a 12 year old . In addition, we were told that we signed up for a life Time to get his back belt, we paid up front as we were excited but sometimes life things happen and we had to take a few months off, he never followed Up with us to see how my son was doing, I thought this was also kind of a mentorship program to teach the kids and challenge him. So today we called Park and he said if we Would like to start bringing our son back since we took the few months off, now he is saying, sorry, you have to sign up again and pay thousands again. I know people on city commission and council, I may report this as well. read more

Hands down this has been our favorite martial arts experience for our kids. During the height of the pandemic, we weren't sure whether to continue the search for a good martial arts school that checked off all the boxes. In the SGV there are many choices for sure but we found that some studios came and went. We were part of one that closed down, another one where teacher turnover happened too often and class schedules changed often because of that too. Then there was a studio which closed after we had completed a trial. were all studios that were recommended to us over the years. What we found was that they ran the gamut really when it came to the studio itself, levels and size of classes, class availability and of course cost but also transparency of costs or lack of upfront delineation of what an annual subscription entailed. So even though the experiences were positive some were not overall worthwhile in the long run. And so sometimes you really do get what you pay for. Now at World's Best -the level of professionalism in sign up, transparency of cost is amazing but most important of all is the consistency in the amount of care for the kids here. Serious about technique, discipline and practice and they want your kids to excel, yes. There is testing and there are expectations that kids study and practice at home to improve. Private lessons are also extremely helpful for kids when starting out still, all classes whether private or group are welcoming to different skill levels. There is confidence in bringing kids here and trust in safety because technique/proper form is important to Master Park and all of the instructors here. They're watching out for kids and go above and beyond to help the students. It is awesome to see the kids love learning here growing in self confidence and gaining skill. We're signed up now for both our kids in the long term black belt program and it has been the best decision. My oldest especially cannot wait for class every week- she always looks forwards to it and it's the highlight after a school day. My younger one tends toward shyness but has come out of his shell here. Everyone at World's Best has been incredibly welcoming from the beginning Master Park is firm but gentle with advice, always kind to families, teaches kids skills, to show respect and be courteous emphasizing that they practice gratitude and to stay humble. Every instructor knows the kids by their names and are kind/supportive of all different ages/abilities. We're glad to have found World's Best TaeKwonDo and wish we'd enrolled sooner. I highly recommend this dojang. Master Park is a great teacher. He has built a small community where children can learn discipline and still have fun. My son has been going here for 6 years now and he still wants to keep going. I am not into martial arts but I truly appreciate the techniques that they learn in this school specifically the sparring techniques. My son is on the smaller side so I always worry that he might get bullied. However, after seeing how he improves on his craft, I am confident that my child can defend himself if need be. I also like the instructors that help Master Park run the school. They are really good with the kids and you can tell from their interaction with them that they also care about them. We have a few friends whose children have been coming here for about a year. I kept hearing good things about this Taekwondo location as it relates to skills such as better focus, improved grades, and self discipline. Our 10 year old is active in other sports. This is a great companion sport or even stand alone. This sport also appears to really improves coordination, flexibility and core strength. The past three months I have been incredibly impressed with the instructors and especially Master Park, the owner. The staff seem to care about the children and follow a fine balance between humor and seriousness to motivate children. Master Park teaches respect of oneself and others. We just started coming for two months after high recommendations from a family friend about Master Park's discipline and how the classes are so energetic. He instills so much respect and discipline from his pupils. All students show great behavior and help each other out. There are two additional assistants. Saturday classes tend to get a bit more crowded. We love how Master Park is teaching our son so many skills and he is loving it way more than his previous martial arts classes that wasn't as challenging. My son is currently a white belt and he has his yellow belt test next week. It's kind of pricey at $55 for a test but we feel that is worth it. He has been waiting for a Yellow belt for a long time. What we like about World Best Tae Kwon Do is that Master Park wont just give a kid their next level belt without having them study a few questions, explain why they want the belt, what are their short term goals, long term goals and even the parents have to check if the kid has been poor, good or excellent at home with various check marks that they need to accomplish like chores, respect for elders, siblings and teacher. There are other questions that ask about the child's attitude and habits at home. For Master Park it is not just a belt that you get at his studio. Getting the next belt means that the child is accomplished at home, school and at the studio to deserve it. It is a holistic approach that encompasses goodhabits as well as good Tae Kwon Do skills. Highly recommend this studio for any parents that wants too see more discipline, courage, confidence and respect from their child. March 2018 update: Saturday 10am family class gets very crowded. As Master Park, the 10am is strictly "family", like siblings or parents. He recommends the 11am class for kids attending without family in the program to avoid the overcrowded setting. March 2020 Update: We've been away from WBTKD for over one year. We had enrolled our son in the Black Belt program that guarantees the child will "eventually" get their belt, no matter how long it takes. It was pretty expensive. I think it was almost $3,000. My son took a break for more than one year and today he came back again. Master Park still remembered him and his assistant instructor too. They were not judgmental about why he came back after a long time or gave me a hard time about not accepting him back without paying again! I really appreciate that. As any parent of child knows, kids keep on changing their minds about activities they like to participate. So grateful that he didn't give us lecture about not attending for a prolonged period. read more

This place is great. My son has only been coming here for 2 weeks and we can already see a slight change in him. Master Park is easy to talk with and is kind but firm with him. Full 5 Stars and here is why... I practiced traditional tae kwon do for ten years deep into my twenties - both ITF and WTF. When my two boys got old enough I looked at many schools in the area. I wanted to find a school that combined traditional tae kwon do and newer sparring techniques - but most importantly I wanted to find a school that cared about kids. THIS IS THE SCHOOL! I had all but given up on my search and happened to pass by Master Park's school. I could see through the window a caring Master and his senior belts as well. The way they interacted with the kids warmed my heart. I could tell that Master Park truly loved his students. Then I watched the technique taught and was equally impressed. They are WTF-based but it was clear that Master Park had perfected a step-wise approach to teaching the forms and sparring while infusing fun, discipline and respect into the program. I enrolled my boys in the black belt program and they love it! They are becoming good martial artists but more importantly, better young men. Master Park focuses on discipline and responsibility. He welcomes parent involvement and will tell you what he is working on with your kids. These days it's hard enough to raise your kids and as parents we can use all the help we can get. My daughter loves to do Taekwondo especially with Master Park. He is an excellent teacher and teaches students with passion and enthusiasm. Anyone can tell if they see him teaching.
