I love how Pastor Owens preaches on sin and not just the "you will be blessed type of prosperity gospel- type" church. Victory Baptist is a Kings James Bible type of church. Hymn singing church. Gospel Preaching Church. God fearing church. Thursday nights at 7 are the best and which I always look forward to. I thought I knew the meaning of being baptized while I was at Celebration but I can honestly say I surrendered my life to Jesus here at Victory Baptist. My children learn so much of the Bible, it is not a bunch of songs to keep them busy, they actually teach them lessons and Truth on what the Bible is all about. When I had my daughter, the church set up a meal train for my family that lasted 2 weeks almost 3 weeks. Then 1 week later I got my gallbladder removed and stayed in hospital for 4 days, without my newborn baby. Church family helped my husband (Ms Kali and Brother Ryan) with our newborn Olivia. Each member of the church has genuine love toward everyone. Brother Dan and Sister Heather are amazing and put together youth activities. You just have to attend in order to understand and believe what an amazing church they are.

Not over rehearsed and showy. The Pastor is genuine and you can tell that he walks with God. You will feel blessed and encouraged when you visit. Last Sunday my husband, son (4), daughter (1) and myself attended this church. Mind you we had already had one previous experience with this man and contemplated going back BUT there was one man there whose name I'm forgetting but if I'm correct graduated from FPU and is also a big part of the church encouraged us to keep showing up despite our incident and so we did...well this Sunday we showed up for later service around 11:30. Had an amazing time worshipping with my husband and daughter who is with us because I am not ready to take her to the nursery (especially with the way this world is) I am not one who just feels safe because I'm at church. NO. Fast forward to service pastor Joe is preaching and my daughter is not crying but BABBLING like a one year old does and ERIC approaches us mid sermon and puts his finger to his lip and says "SHHHHHH" "Does she have a pacifier" "Tell her to be quiet" "You'll have to leave if she's not quiet" We left humiliated and embarrassed. It is already tough as a mom to get up and get out of the house with kids but being told to leave a place where babies are considered blessings and everyone is welcome is very upsetting and unprofessional on the part of the usher. My main concern is that I've attempted to contact multiple people about this and it's not being validated or addressed.

The entire church really makes you feel at home. This is a church that talks about your relationship and not about religion. We are blessed to have found it and will continue to go and get involved. My husband had been raised in the church but had not attended regularly since he was a teen. I was raised without any kind of religion. After 10 years together and a very rough start to the New Year we agreed to find a church to call our home. We went through a few and felt like we would never find our place. Now we know we did. My husband is back to reading the bible. My kids are learning all about God and having fun doing it and I am quietly listening and understanding what the book is all about. They have been so welcoming since the first Sunday it has made us feel like we are with a family not a congregation. I look forward to learning more and watching my kids grow up with values and good friends.
