Indeed, I've come across some of the best parks, hiking trails, boating, swimming locations, art and historical sites using Yelp, especially with those items considered matters of "Local Flavor." But to the point, there was a local event that I knew would be covered by local television. Not being much of a television viewer and not even knowing the channels of local stations, I resorted to Yelp. Sure enough, bingo! Up popped a couple reviews of this, NBC 6- WTVJ, which covered the event I wanted and to my delight, did a really good job of it. So, thank you Yelp. You've come through for me again.

Second gripe- why when you have news at noon and then again at 4pm....why, why, why must you break into the 3pm programming so often to give out the exact same news you will give at 4pm and the break in to programming is not life threatening. Do you even care that ELLEN is on and we miss her guests? Like I said, I wish I had another option other than NBC6.

When Sting cancelled his concert at the last minute, they renamed him "Stink" when they still played his music. That was a very long time ago. So when I was in Fort Lauderdale for a few days, I turned the dial and hoped for good memories. Not so much. Kids and their music today aren't what I like. Who are these musicians? This is music? Top 40 format which play the best in pop, (commercial) hip hop and dance. The morning show with Elvis Duran is always funny and I think that cast of characters have an incredible amount of chemistry. The midday show with Mack, Nina and Nick is always great. I had the opportunity to go the the studio and chat with them for a bit about a promotion I put together - Order The Yelp. They were super cool and easy to chat with. Jingle Ball - which is Y100's annual concert is always slam packed with headliners and one of the bigger shows in South Florida every year. My go to in the car - Y100 get's a perfect 5. Plus, how cool that it's located in the BPB?!

The cool (or creepy) thing about this website is that you can see the person on their web cam and if you choose to, they can see you. As skeptical as I was, I logged on with three other friends to check it out. And, to my dismay, it was so much fun. You get people from all over the world (esp. France, USA, and Brazil) many of which end up making great conversation. You also get the occasional college frat guys who just want to see your boobs or the creepy guys "doing their thing"... which you just "next" and move on to another stranger. I would NOT recommend this website to 18 or under for the previously mentioned situations. But it is a fun way to pass the time if you're with a few friends and want some interesting conversations. Plus, you can always pop on a pair of sunglasses to mask your identity.

Everyone seemed to be very nice and friendly. I was seated at the front reception for a bit and then escorted to the green room. Overall this was a lovely experience and I just wanted to express that no matter the reason you are here for you will be treated nicely. I am sure there is a lot of different things that go on in here but my experience was great.

And even more so - while this one plays great selection and even some live selections, they've really put South Florida on the map in the classical world even though we do have a Mozart Festival and stuff of the like. Then again, this station is the one that brought out the very first Classical music radio station app to the iPhone. Can it get any better?! (And probably yes - but this station may just do it first!)
