WRDU is part of the iHeartMedia conglomerate (formerly Clear Channel) and so they pretty much like to remind you constantly that the station is available if you're only say "Alexa, play WRDU on iHeart" which I'm not planning on doing. Good classic rock and roll. J. Geils Bank, Queen, Van Halen, Quiet Riot and more. I was air drumming (badly) on my steering wheel most of the time. People have mentioned that he "calmed down a bit" - so I gave him another try a few months back. Lasted 2 stop lights before I had to change the station. I also used to put their music on when I was cooking or cleaning or something - background music. They played the same songs over and over and over again, along with commercials from their employees hocking products as the best thing on the planet. Got very irritating very fast. Between Bob, poor track lists, and the infomercials, they've been off my station list for a few months. So much better out there, especially internet streaming!

More music... less Blah, Blah, BLAH! They stay true to their word…read more I must admit, this has become one of my favorites in the Raleigh area. I love the 80s rock that they play, the 90s alternative, the occasional 70s classics, and the occasional 2k rock hit. My main beef comes with the DJ's..... or lack thereof. DJs provide a sense that you have a friend. The lack of DJs makes the station seem like an iPod that is interrupted with liners and ads begging us to go to Hardees. The lack of DJs causes a deduction of a star and a half. Another half star is deducted until they play more rock variety (go back to the 60s and air more music from the 70s).
