Three stars = okay. And that's what Wright's is. There, I said it. It's okay Q with a ton of marketing that is cruising on its long-time relationship with the area. Sure, the stores are nice and neat and tidy. Very "southern comforting" type of design. The staff is friendly, but only because it's running on Southern manners, lacking the charm. The food is good. If you gave it to me, I would eat it and not complain. Since I bought it, I will say it's okay, but certainly not legendary. Brisket was perfectly tender but not particularly flavorful. The ribs and chicken were both good, with the chicken (oddly) being the most flavorful thing I tried. Sides are overwrought and unbalanced. Back it off a bit, Wright's. The exception is the mac and cheese, which is the opposite and too much like Kraft with added cream. All the sides were meh. I will probably return if I'm nearby and there's no line. This place is definitely NOT worth waiting in a long line for--I'm not buying the hype. Okay

First visit and I'm a fan. The BBQ is quite well prepared slow cooked and seasoned perfectly. The sides were amazing too - the baked beans, green beans and creamed corn all excellent. Glad we split the 3 meat plate which allowed us to try the bacon burnt ends, pulled pork and brisket. Finished it off with 1/2 sweet tea and great lunch. Note it can have a line out the door during lunch and they may run out of certain meats.

Now, I should say up front: I'm from Kansas City, so I'll admit I'm BBQ-biased. When you live around some of the best barbecue in the country, your standards are high. So when I say Wright's impressed my tastebuds, I mean it. The moment you walk in, the smell of pit smoke hits you in the best possible way. The menu is hand-written on butcher paper along the wall -- classic old-school BBQ style -- and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, which is helpful because this place clearly draws a crowd. When I arrived, brisket had already sold out -- which in BBQ terms usually means you've found the right place. Thankfully, Warren stepped in and turned what could have been a disappointment into a fantastic experience. He took the time to walk me through the menu and recommended a three-meat plate: bacon burnt ends, beef ribs, and smoked turkey. The bacon burnt ends were smoky, sweet, and indulgent in the best way. The beef rib was beautifully cooked with deep flavor and that perfect bark. And the smoked turkey -- often overlooked at BBQ spots -- was incredibly moist and flavorful. The sides here aren't an afterthought either. The deviled egg potato salad had the perfect balance of creamy richness with a bright dill pickle note, and the smoked beans had just the right touch of sweet spice. And then there was the banana pudding -- classic, comforting, and the perfect way to finish the meal. What really elevated the visit, though, was Warren. After the dinner rush slowed down, he took time to walk through the dining room checking on guests. When he learned we were visiting from Kansas City, he stopped by our table and spent a few minutes talking with us. He shared more about how Wright's got its start and how it grew into a James Beard Award-winning spot, and his knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience even better. It's clear he genuinely cares about the guest experience. Brisket may have been sold out this time, but that just means I have a reason to come back. Next time, brisket is first on my list. And trust me -- if this Kansas City girl is impressed, Wright's Barbecue is doing it very right. About the pic: When a BBQ sandwich needs two hands, a stack of napkins, and a cold beer, you know you're in the right place. That was my introduction to the Woo Pig sandwich at Wright's Barbecue -- a delicious, messy stack of smoky goodness that demands a photo before you even attempt the first bite.

Wrights has the best BBQ. I eat here often and at the Little Rock location. The ordering process is simple, newly remodeled with tons of extra dining area inside and outside. You should definitely try it if you have the opportunity.

Lots of bbq, allegedly, out there, BUT this the real deal! Ribs, beans and coleslaw were all spectacular. Service was quick and easy for 4 adults and seating aplenty. Great place for a date or a family get-together! Definitely a return customer

Start to finish fantastic! The new entryway and seating area are very nice, clean and open spaces that are very inviting. The outdoor seating area is absolutely fantastic underneath that tree, they centered their seating area around. The service for ordering the food was very organized. While we had a brief delay for them to prepare an online order. They were efficient and got to my order quickly. All of the staff were very kind, knowledgeable, and professional. While I was eating, a manager was cleaning tables and was greeting individuals at the tables asking about their service and food. When I told the manager, I was enjoying my experience, but was disappointed they were already out of brisket, he went to the back and got me a slice of brisket that had just come off the smoker. Now the food! The brisket was melt in your mouth tender. I've never had such tender brisket in my entire life! The pulled pork nachos were very good. But I think my favorite was the spicy jalapeño and cheese sausage link. I had that chopped up and placed on top of my nachos and that was exceptional! Moral of the story. If you have not been to the new updated, Wrights barbecue, you must go! Fantastic start to finish!

Amazing BBQ that is NOT in KC! Being from Kansas City I am always looking for good BBQ no matter where I travel. It is usually hit or miss across the country and most BBQ is just different. Different can be really good. This place was a hit and honestly not much different in my opinion. I tried the 3 meat combo with Bacon Burnt Ends, Beef Ribs and smoked turkey, and a Woo Pig Sandwich. All of it was smoked to perfection with great seasoning. The bacon burnt end reminded me about how I need to make this at home again... it's been a while. They were smoky, with great bark and very juicy. The beef ribs were fall off the bone good. The turkey was the surprise here. It was super flavorful and so juicy! The Woo pig had super flavorful pulled pork and a jalapeño sausage. Don't let the jalapeño throw you off. It wasn't super spicy but rather had a great jalapeño flavor. The meats stood on their own without sauce but the variety of sauces just enhanced the experience. Bold, Spicy, Sweet and OG gave a nice selection of sauces. They were all really good but I was partial to the sweet being a KC style BBQ lover. The deviled egg potato salad was a definite hit along with the baked beans. I want to find a flaw in any part of this meal but there just isn't one. I am a fan! Warren at Wright's BBQ took great care of us answering our questions, made great suggestions, giving us some back story on the business and genuinely was interested in our thoughts and opinions. I'll be back to try all the things I didn't have a chance to try this trip. Also, if it's good enough for Jason Kelce... it good enough for me! lol

Great BBQ. This is a no-frills barbecue joint. You order at the counter, pick up your food and find a picnic table. Their barbecue is the best. I've ever had. The ribs melted in your mouth and just fell right off the bone. And the brisket and pulled pork was just amazing. There's multiple barbecue sauces at your table that you can try. Get there early! The line gets pretty long around dinner time and they do sell out of items.

I had the 2 meat plate with brisket and bacon burnt ends, collard greens, and smoked beans. My husband had the ribs plate with mashed potatoes and collard greens. The star of the show was definitely the bacon burnt ends! Fatty, bouncy, crispy, and flavorful! Loved it so much. The brisket was pretty good too, but the burnt ends are the most memorable. I really liked my sides of collard greens and smoked beans too and would get those again. My husband had the ribs plate, and while I thought the ribs were good and tender, I preferred the brisket and burnt ends. Of the 3 bbq sauces (sweet, spicy, bold), the best one was the bold bbq sauce, which had kind of a honey mustard flavor to it. There was ample seating and service was nice. Being from California, I thought the prices were not bad at all. My only complaint is that they keep the AC so cold in there that the food was pretty cold by the time I ate it. Would have been so much better had it been warm.

Not only is this the best BBQ in NWA, but it is some of the best I've ever had in the south. I'm from Dallas and my family is from Austin, so I can confidently say Wright's competes with Franklins BBQ in Austin. (Word on the street is Jordan Wright apprenticed at Franklins) The burnt ends are phenomenal here, as is the brisket. Oh and if you like spicy barbecue sauce, they have some of the best! I bought 2 for my house because I like them so much. read more

Awesome! In town from Austin and gave it a try. I had emailed Daniel Vaughn from Texas Monthly s while back about where to get good bbq in Fayetteville. This was the first time I had been able to go by (with the fixed building location they have better hours now). Tried the Texas Trinity - brisket (moist), sausage (jalapeño cheddar) and pork ribs. All were outstanding and would hold their own against good Central Texas bbq. Sides were good and scratch made (Texans be aware -- beans and the sauces are more southern style than Texas style, but good) Can't wait to go back read more

Eating BBQ at any other place is a waste of money. Their customer service is absolutely fantastic and they work very diligently to get food served. Their brisket has an incredibly flavor and it's always very tender. The loaded mac and cheese is unbelievably good and a must try! read more

Sorry guys, but this BBQ is just okay. I had a pulled pork sandwich at the Block Street Block Party today. For $8 I got a standard (tiny) hamburger bun sized portion of BBQ with jalapenos and sauce on top, plus a bag of chips. The pork was very tender but not smoky at all and just boring. I've made better in my crock pot at home. Tender is not enough without good flavor. I have changed my initial rating after the owner PM'd me with a much different reply than is posted here. In thinking more about it, the experience as a whole was really just worth one star. read more

I was Pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon this food truck at the Fayetteville farmers market. The barbecue is absolutely delicious. In my opinion it's a little bit of a Texas style barbecue. They do a breakfasty food option at the farmers market so you don't feel weird about eating barbecue at 10 AM. You can also find this food truck all throughout NWA. Finally made it here and I recommend going early because they're very busy. That said, the line moves fast. It's cafeteria style where you choose what you want as you move down the line. I had the ribs plate with baked beans and mac n cheese with the original sauce. Very good. The ribs were cooked perfect and very meaty. The mac and cheese rocked and the beans were pretty good. Also got a piece of delicious apple pie. It was definitely worth the wait. read more

I have been dying to try this place for a long time, finally I had time and went for lunch. I arrived at around 1:45, and the place wasn't overly full. There was some people but it felt good and the atmosphere was very inviting. They have outside seating and inside. I order the two meats plate which comes with two sides. I got ribs and brisket, and the sides were Mac and cheese and potatoes salad. First the ribs, okay the ribs are good but they are not the fall off the bone kind. They are not hard either, they are juicy and meaty. They are not too soft either, i like them. But I prefer my ribs to be completely fall of the bone. Now to the real king of the whole meal, Guys whatever u do. If u are going to Wrights, get the Brisket. Ohhhh my goodness, the brisket is too die for. I have never had something like it, it's heaven on a plate. I really really enjoyed my brisket. The Mac and cheese was good but the potato salad was better. I also got the mild bbq sauce and the tangy one. Both were extremely good with the mild being my favorite. So if u are in NWA, don't even think twice about this place. Wright's is a most try if u are in the area, heck I will even drive from Fort Smith just for their BBQ. read more

Good gosh a mighty joe Friday!! So I am going to say that I have been looking for good BBQ in Arkansas since moving here from Texas 8 years ago. I am happy to say that after several duds, I have finally found the Stud!! This place is a full service meat smoking paradise! I tried all they have to offer and Wright's puts a quality smoke on their brisket, pulled pork, chicken and sausage. Very tasty. All cuts have the ability to stand on their own. Moist and flavorful with every bite! To top it off their side game is on point! From the Honey Butter Green Beans to the Loaded Potato Salad, it all rocks!! The only thing I'm mad about is that it took me so long to find this place!! read more

Wright's is hands down the best BBQ! The brisket is my favorite, and they ask if you prefer lean or fatty pieces. The honey butter green beans and mac and cheese are my go to sides. But seriously, you can't go wrong with any item on their menu. The staff are always friendly, and truly love their jobs and enjoy serving the best bbq in NWA. read more

Late lunch on my way back to XNA. Found this place on yelp and couldn't of been happier. Warm greeting and since we hadn't been before they immediately offered us a taste of the brisket. We were immediately sold - great, juicy brisket, sides were solid and plenty big enough with a warm cookie to round things out. Oh, and they gave us a taste of the bacon burnt ends to boot which were outstanding. Excellent service - the entire crew couldn't of been nicer. I know where I'm going the next time I'm in NW Arkansas! read more

Wright's barbecue has unquestionably the best moist brisket I have ever had and I've been to all the barbecue capitals in the south central United States. Their fail points are all of their sides and their sauce which is something reminiscent of an overly sweet grape jelly with too much pepper. But! We arrived right at opening time and were surprised to see a line already forming. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, including the 3-meat combo with beans and mac and cheese, and a side of mashed potatoes. The pulled pork was a standout - tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The brisket was also impressive, though perhaps not quite KC-style. But the real star of the show was the mashed potatoes. They were creamy, buttery, and had a secret ingredient that elevated them to another level. We were so engrossed in our meal that we didn't even notice our cousin sneaking bites of our mashed potatoes! The atmosphere at Wright's BBQ is casual and inviting. While the extended wait times can be a bit of a drawback, we highly recommend arriving early to avoid the crowds. If you're ever in Northwest Arkansas, Wright's BBQ is a must-visit. I have been to this restaurant several times. Every time I have ever been there, the lines are always long. The waiters are very nice. Even though the lines are relatively long, the people cooking and everything make the lines go faster are quick and easy. Often, when I go up there who took my order, they explained that some of the meats and vegetables were gone and explained how good they are. I would honestly only go here if you have time. Even though they are not open seven days a week, they make up for it by having delicious food. I would make sure to be aware of your surroundings when you pull up because people are coming in and out of the same driveway when you get there. read more

Yes. Just, yes. Yes, yes, yes. I just got home after probably my 9th, maybe 10th trip to Wright's this year and damn it. Damn it. It's the best brisket I've ever had. It's the best barbecue I've ever had. It's the best I think I'll ever have. Memphis doesn't top it. Kansas City doesn't top it. Texas doesn't top it. I don't care if you vehemently disagree. All I ask is try it. Just once. Try it. Then we'll talk. Wright's elicits a melt-in-your-mouth, forget to breathe, what's my purpose in life and why doesn't it involve this brisket type of emotion. Ate there tonight with friends. The line was out the door, parking lot full. It took less than 10 minutes to get inside, place order and go outside to sit, visit and listen to a very good blues group. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and upfront about being sold out of some items. The food was the best we have had since Phil's in Westville, OK. The ribs tender and juicy, brisket tender and juicy, and the baked beans were fabulous. Could not believe the price. We've paid more for pizza. Highly recommend. Wright's was not on the bucket list but certainly should have been and for that, I apologize. The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth delicious and had a perfect 1/8" smoke ring. The spicy sauce is an outstanding marriage of spicy, sweet, & smokey. The jalapeno cheddar hotlink would come next on my list, closely followed by the bacon burnt ends that are coating in fragrant pepper. If you're in the area of Fayette-chill and you don't stop by this joint, then you've made a grave error in decision making. Best of luck in your incomplete life. read more

I drove 20 miles on Saturday sept 5, only to find it closed at 4 30PM The web site said it would be closed for labor day and said open till 8 PM today...WRONG!!! web site also talked about ordering for carryout When I arrived there was a big cardboard sign stating closed this weekend. Phones not answered but the answering machine never mentioned being closed. Love a business that cares zilch about consideration~!! read more

When this place opened it instantly became the best BBQ in NWA. The bacon burnt ends are innovative and mouth watering. The Brisket is moist and juicy and leaves you begging for more. The black pepper based rub has a great bite to it and for me you can never have too much seasoning. There is a clear leader in the clubhouse for best BBQ in an area that desperately needed a good BBQ joint. read more

Picked up some pulled pork and brisket for my birthday dinner, and we're still talking about how good it was weeks later. The brisket is cut thicker than I was expecting, but it was the most tender meat I have ever had. Pulled pork is excellent too. They always take care to remove the fat, so you only get the best meat. We have loved Wrights since 2016. The owners are genuine people. But alas we cheated on Wrights and went to penguin eds in Fayetteville. A place I used to love. It was so so inferior. I asked my husband about 5 times if he sure the brisket was actually brisket and the same cut of meat Wrights used. It honestly gross compared to Wrights. If you like Butter on your bread, you are going to love this sandwich. Great texture on the meat, soft and juicy. If you like a good kick to your beans, they have some warm flavors. Mac&cheese is well above the average. And the BBQ has a wonderfully unique flavor packed into a rich sauce that does not overwhelm the sandwich or the smokiness of the meat. 9/10 will go back read more

Dont be fooled. Burnt ends is not burnt ends - it's bacon. Lots of it. Lots of fat and salt. Be careful. Medical bills were over $10,000 after the "burnt ends". It is like eating an entire package of bacon that has been smoked and salted. All the bbq sauce in the world didn't keep it from being salty. read more

I grew up in KC eating Gate's, Bryant's and Q39. Wright's goes toe to toe with them. People complain about the prices. Yeah its pricey but it's the best BBQ for over a couple hundred miles in any direction. Never had a single bad experience with service. Only giving 5 stars cause I can't give 6. read more
