This was my first time in Chicago, and although I couldn't stop by a game during my trip, I had to check out this historical field with a Wrigley Field Tour. This tour was super informative, and our guide was engaging. We booked this tour online for about $30 and picked a desired time slot. Once we arrived at the field, we entered the gate as directed, scanned our ticket, and went through security. We cut it short and barely caught the start of the tour. It starts off with walking up the stairs and seeing the field. The field was like no other and felt smaller than other stadiums. During this tour, we also went to left field and took a picture with the Ivy, went into the visitors' locker room, and went to the announce box up top with an amazing view. If you are visiting Chicago, I 100% recommend this tour; the facts you learn aren't boring but unique. Some of them quite surprised me, like this was the first field to allow you to take a ball back home or even start the pledge of allegiance for all sports. I wish I remembered the tour guide, but you can tell he is very passionate about the Cubs and loves his job. Like what! We had a best time on this tour. Stumbled on this while visiting Gallagher Way. It was very sunny fall day and we wanted to be outside. We saw that they were conducting tours of the field and scurried over to grab tickets. We got the last few available for our time slot. The tours are very intimate. We probably had about 30 people on our tour. Our tour guide was great. Very passionate about baseball and this stadium. We learned a lot of facts about the second oldest standing baseball field. We also learned about Chicago businesses that help sustain this field over the decades. My favorite part was probably being next to the ivy. I also like chilling in the visiting guest locker room. While the room was small it was also very cozy and the seats were soft. All in all it was cool seeing the pressbox and also the organ. Yes they still using a real musical organ. I recommend this tour for anyone that loves stadium, sports or history. It was worth every penny and can't wait to catch a baseball game soon. read more

I'll be honest--I joined this tour because my husband wanted to go, and I didn't expect to be all that interested. Boy, was I wrong. This turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip to Chicago! Our tour guide was fantastic--passionate, knowledgeable, and full of fascinating facts about the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field. One fun fact that stuck with me: the park originally opened in 1914 as Weeghman Park, home to the Chicago Whales of the short-lived Federal League. It became Wrigley Field in 1920, and is now the second-oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball, just behind Boston's Fenway Park, built in 1912. We learned that the iconic ivy on the outfield wall was planted in 1937, and--believe it or not--lights weren't installed until 1988! We even got to step out onto the field to see the ivy up close, which was such a cool experience. We also learned Cubs fans have a unique custom of throwing back home run balls. The practice dates back to the late 1960's after a home run by Hank Aaron. Another highlight: getting to sit in the dugout! Just a heads-up--if there's a Cubs game on the day of your tour, the dugout may be off-limits while they prep for the game. We were also told that if there's no game the following day, tours sometimes include the visitors' clubhouse (we just missed it!). Such a fun experience! We were visiting from LA and couldn't make the game, so the next best thing was to do a tour, and it did not disappoint. We had a 9:30 AM tour on a game day. We knew beforehand that it would be an abbreviated tour, but we still enjoyed the tour nonetheless. Our tour stops included the field, lower seating, bleachers, and upper deck seating. The sights were beautiful, and the rich history was fun to learn. As a Dodger fan, there was so much I didn't know about Wrigley Field and Cubs history as a whole, so it was a great experience overall as a baseball fan. Unfortunately forgot the tour guides' names, but the guide and straggler were very kind and helpful! There is a lot of walking and stairs throughout the tour, so do keep that in mind while visiting. The Wrigley Field Tour is a must see when visiting Chicago. This historic park, although refurbished, still retains most of its old school charm. Our guide was well versed in Cubs lore, and was able to enlighten and entertain our diverse group of baseball fans. You'll get to sit in the expensive seats, see the press box where Harry Caray called games and get to see the visitors clubhouse and sit where stars like Ohtani sit. The best part is going down to the field and imagining what it would be like to play right field for the Cubs. Great tour, great experience. Tours are about 90 minutes and are held on both game days and non-game days. On non-game days, you will have access to more areas of the park, including the press box, visitor's locker room, and outfield ivy. All of these make the tour more worth it overall so try to target attending on a non-game day. I don't think the tour would be worth it on a game day. Buy tickets online to secure your spot. Prices are $30 + about $10 worth in hidden fees! So total is about $40 a person. They really need to advertise the price as $40 instead of tacking on $10 in hidden fees at checkout. The Cubs have full control of how the prices are advertised and they are better than that! On non-game days, it appears there are tours departing every hour or so starting at 10 or 10:30 AM. I took the 10:30 tour on a weekend and there were about 50 people total. Tours occur rain or shine, but check the forecast as it will be much more enjoyable on a nice day. Tours begin right on time and they will not wait for you so arrive 5-10 min early. They did not take us to the dugout on this particular day, despite advertising that on the website. If you go on a non-game day you will get to see a lot more. It was snowing this day so there was only 5 of us on the tour. This is an awesome tour of a great and historic American baseball venue.  Having been a Cubs fan for virtually all of my life, it was delightful to finally take the time to do a formal tour here.  Besides enjoying a walk to various scenic points around the park on a beautiful day and when it was empty, and hearing some of Wrigley Field's history, I most enjoyed the humorous, interesting, and entertaining stories and anecdotes from our guide Cooper, many to most of which I had never heard.  You'll have to go on the tour yourself to hear the stories.  Our comfortably sized group of 22 visited lecture points in the lower deck, upper deck, and bleachers, got onto the field in the right field corner, and into the Cubs dugout. Why 4 stars and not 5 then for the tour?  My main gripe and feedback, for which I docked a star and was thinking even a 2 star hit, was that the advertised pricing for the tour is ridiculously misleading.  The "$30" tour went to $38.95 upon online checkout, and in the end I found that pretty disgusting and borderline false advertising.  It's not like the Cubs are dealing with a third party for tickets like a StubHub or Ticketmaster, or a secondary ticket market.  Advertise what it will cost (duh!) and like most consumers I'll accept tax, but not 30% in total adders!  Even StubHub now shows ticket prices "with estimated fees" (and probably because their consumers demanded it as they felt the same way I did) and though they also charge a ridiculous ~30% fee. Upon online checkout, you will see on your $30 tour ticket: Amusement tax:  $2.70 Bullshit per-ticket fee:  $2.25 Bullshit order processing fee:  $4.00 I did learn at the box office that you will save the $4 "processing" fee if you buy at the box office on the day of the tour, but you're taking a chance of a sold-out tour by not booking in advance.  I would have given a 5 star Yelp rating and still went if they just said $39 for the tour, period. Anyway, rant over.  If you're any sort of a Chicago sports or history fan, I would still highly recommend this entertaining, interesting, and informative tour! read more

This is probably one of the best stadium tours I have ever been on and I am not a cubs fan. Now this tour began at the historic entrance of the stadium beneath the giant marquee. This was during the off season so all the bathrooms are closed. Meaning use the McDonald's or Taco Bell's one across the street prior to the start of the tour. Arrive early but also they don't let you inside the stadium until 5 minutes prior. Once you're inside they will check your tickets and have you go through a traditional security checkpoint. Now my tour started by my guide taking us near the 3rd foul line and he sat us down. He then spoke for about 15-20 minutes about the history of the 2nd oldest ballpark in mlb. He shared how much it's grown and everything. We then walked over the bleachers followed by going into the visitor's bullpen. At each spot he shared so many fun facts, historical items, and honestly some funny stories about the stadium. From there we did the walk up to the visitor clubhouse where it was awesome to be in the same room that so many people have been. We also got to see the press box and finished in the dugout on the field. Truly and incredible 90 minute tour. It was incredible because of the fact we got to see the stadium and learn it's rich history too. Highly recommend this tour to everyone! read more

My Mom and I had such a great tour with Larry! He greeted us right as we got in line and made sure we had a comfortable experience (due to some mobility constraints). It felt like a tour personalized just for the two of us. Larry is friendly, incredibly informative, gracious and kind. We were blown away. The entire staff was spot on. It's great to be able to walk thru a stadium that some of the greats have played in such as the Babe, MJ, etc. We had beautiful views from the press box, the field level to see the ivy on the outfield wall (but don't touch it), the dugout, etc. I can only compare this to Fenway and they're both at the top of my list. Bottom Line: A must-do in Chicago whether you root root root for the Cubbies or not. My husband and I enjoy baseball and we've now toured several parks. We were excited to tour Wrigley Field because as the second oldest ballpark in the MLB we knew it would be a unique experience with a good dose of history. Our tour guide, Zach, was awesome! He was knowledgeable, funny, engaging and charismatic. We loved sitting on the bleachers and listening to his stories about the Bleacher Bums, the days of using a rope to mark the end of the outfield and the confusion that ensued when two fair balls rolled out of the ivy during a game . We also appreciated his wise advice of always taking a ball to the game so if you catch one, you can secretly keep your souvenir and deceptively "throw back" the other ball. Wrigley Field is now over 100 years old and it's neat to see an old park and learn how it evolved over the years to accommodate more fans and to get retrofitted with lights. The most unique aspect of Wrigley is probably the Rooftops and you can get a good view of them during the tour. (I'd heard about the rooftops but didn't quite grasp how cool the concept was until seeing it in person.) The tour features similar highlights as other tours I've done - press box, dugout, visitor's clubhouse, etc. but it's the history and stories that make this tour a home run! read more

I've been on multiple stadium tours and the Wrigley Field tour was one of the better ones. Amazing old stadium and such deep history. I recommend you buy tickets in advance. There's no guarantee they will have tickets to buy when you show up for the tour. My wife and I did both the game day and non-game day tour. The tours on game days vs non-game days are very different. If you want the full experience, go on the tour on a non-game day. If you go on a tour the same day the Cubs have a game, you won't get to go in to the visitors locker room, the press box, the dugouts and possibly on to the field (because players and staff are getting ready for the game and they don't want to disturb them). Essentially the game day tour consists of going to different parts of the seating (bleachers, upper deck, field level) and down around the concourse. Later in the season, you have the option to go out to the ivy and take pictures. Both tour guides we had were very educated and informed about Wrigley Field and the history of the Cubs. The information was similar but each guide had their one twists and Cubs facts. Robert and Clay were the tour guides we had. Both were awesome! read more

This was a fun tour and worthy he time and money if you are visiting the area and going to a game. The tour lasts about 80 minutes and the tour guide tells you about the history of the stadium while walking you around. You don't see any secret areas of the stadium but it is nice to walk around the stadium while it's empty and get to see the views of the whole field. Good, quality tour this morning, with a couple exceptions. Our tour guide, for the 9:15, was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took us to several different vantage points to experience the park. I understand that it is an afternoon day game day and we are limited to where we can go. However, we didn't go to a single location that you could not already go to during a game as a ticket buying fan. We didn't see anything behind the scenes. This tour is a great way to see the stadium on a non game day. Although the weather was undeniably cold even for the locals it was still fun. I wish the ivy had been up. We got to sit in the visitors locker room, Cubs locker room, Cubs dug out and even go on the field. I resisted the temptation to ask if I could run around the bases to warm up. This is certainly a tour not to be missed by any baseball fan! We learned about the history of the field and were able to take tons of pictures. You can ride the red line to Addison and it's right across the street. I arrived early and while I had just had a beer at Portillo's I told myself I'd make the best use of my time and I walked around the exterior of the field and went to visit the fire-station behind the field: fire-station = firefighters ;) Since the season hasn't started yet, their merchandise store was closed. I also purchased my ticket on line but they appeared to have tickets on sale at the ticket box out front. Good times! read more

It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone but Wrigley Field is FILLED with history. We came for the 2:00 pm tour and it was packed. I'd say there were about fifty people on the tour. We started by sitting in the stands and learning about the history of the team and the park. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of great stories about how the team came together and the early beginnings of the park. We were also able to go into the visitor's clubhouse and the press box. The views from the press box are incredible! We took a cruise past the Cubs clubhouse, which was awesome! Then, we got time to take photos on the field and in the dugout. The tour itself ended up taking about two hours, but I bet that varies by tour size. Be sure to stop in on a non game day in order to gain full access of all the cool parts of the park! read more

The official Wrigley Field tour is well worth the $25. My tour was given by one of the old bleacher bums. These guys have some great stories that help bring the legends of Wrigley Field alive. The tour offers more history and insight into both the park and the team. I think this tour would be fun for everyone, not just baseball/Cubs fans. Unfortunately I made my way to Wrigley after a massive renovation project had started which is now in its final stages. Some might want to see the new and improved upgrades. I was a bit bummed (no pun intended) that I missed seeing the park in its more original state. Expect to walk around for about 90 minutes on the tour. There are lots of great photo ops, including from the field and dugout. Despite the new big video scoreboards (that now obstruct most of the rooftop views), the iconic outfield ivy wall, centerfield scoreboard and marquee remain intact. Some things at Wrigley I hope will never change. read more

We took a tour on a non game day. Tours are $25. We purchased in advance online before our trip. I did see a guy buy tickets right before the tour started. So our tour was not sold out. Our group was quite large. It made it a bit difficult to hear and see at times. Can't imagine how big a sold out tour is. Our tour guide was friendly and informative. He told stories and gave us some history of the Cubs and Wrigley. We visited the lower and upper decks, bleachers, press box and dugout. Tours change so there is no guarantee what you will see on your tour. There was a group of guys who were obviously not Cubs fans on the tour. They were very rude and disrupted much of the tour. I'm a baseball fan from Detroit and I'm still extremely bitter the city of Detroit tore down Tiger Stadium. That being said, I love that Fenway and Wrigley have still kept their history alive and interactive. I went on the tour on a non-game day and I thought the tour was excellent. Our tour guide was named Bill and he was both funny and informative. First we got a 15 minute lecture on the history of the Cubs and Wrigley, from there we went to the bleachers where we learned about the ivy and the beach bums. Following that onwards to the visitors locker room. The visitors locker room is great. Stop and think for a second, all that Hall of Famers who passed through that room! Incredible. After the locker room up to press box and then down to dugout and fields Loved every part of it! Informative, even for someone not from Chicago. I loved it and would strongly recommend it. Really nice tour. My first return post major renovation. They did it right. The tour guide was friendly and shared numerous insights and stories that certainly added to the experience. Unfortunately being a game day we were held back from some of the behind the scenes areas as they prepped for the game that evening. No stops at the locker room, training areas or press box as they were all getting readied for the game. There were still plenty of quality aspects to the tour and the price was very fair. After touring the three oldest parks in MLB this came away as my second favorite. I actually thought Femway was the best and Dodger stadium brought up the rear. Even post remodel the old time charm shines through in abundance. Nice the finally have a couple Jumbtrons to peep the replays. It took them some time for sure. The modern day ammenities are nicely woven into the fabric of the classic park. I would certainly reccomend taking the tour and enocurage all interested to do your best to come on an off day or when the team is on the road for a really thorough experience. read more
