"South Tyrolean-style food with great views of Baldeneysee"…read more
"Suedtiroler Stuben" is the quintessential restaurant for a Sunday trip to Baldeneysee with friends and family. It has a very large patio with about 30 tables, but offers good enough views from the inside as well, thanks to panoramic windows. Furniture and decor are modern and mildly upscale, but the general atmosphere is casual. Vegetarian dishes are clearly marked on the menu. I have eaten both "Herrengeroestl with pork and salad" as well as "South Tyrolean fillet pot", and would especially recommend the latter because of the variety of meats and vegetables and the portion size (almost enough for two!). Service was fast and friendly, even on a busy day. Prices were moderate considering food and location - think roughly EUR 20 per person for main course and drink. The only downsides were the slightly elevated noise level inside and, in my case, the cleanliness of the table cloth.
