Sure, it is basically one of those chain hotels, the ones that I generally don't like staying at, but it was cheap, near the railway station (though I did take the wrong turn initially), and the beds comfy. Okay, they didn't have a bath for my brother, but he was able to deal with it for one night. As I have mentioned though, the staff were really friendly, and spoke multiple languages as well (but then I'm always one to compare which languages that we speak now that I know more than one).

Believe me I got in one night so to get the chill out of my bones from the cold damp days here in Holland. In the morning you would go into the restaurant and they had the greatest machine that with the push of one button you would get a nice cup of cappuccino. The restaurant was very limited in the fact that after eating here a couple of nights you definitely need to leave as you realize you have eaten everything already on the menu. They also have a very nice bar in the hotel. We went there the first night to have drinks before dinner. Great time was had by everyone in the group. The final night we walk out the front door to check out the casino which is located right next to the hotel. The same property but the only way to get there is through the front door. On the way walking there you pass a parking garage that is between the hotel and casino. Very well thought out project as this would be a great place for someone to get away from the city for a little rest and relaxation.

This is a 5 star hotel that goes beyond 5 stars. It came with a separate shower and a large bath with jets. The black marble bathroom and tiles is just beautiful. The room was quiet. I stayed during Qlimax and I can image there were noisy ravers nearby but I could not hear them. This hotel is pretty noise proof. We got a late checkout at 5pm. I have never heard of a late check out at 5pm before. I was very happy that they were so empathetic to us ravers staying out until 8am. They offer a Q Dance shuttle to and from Qlimax which is very helpful. We didn't end up getting the shuttle back and it wasn't a bad cab ride to the hotel. The Gelderdome is quite close to this hotel. I highly suggest this hotel to anyone who is visiting the Gelderdome. The restaurant is really good and the wait staff spoke English and made it easy for us to order off the menu. The bar is really nice. All in all I had a great time. I plan to book here next Qlimax.

When I arrived at the hotel, I was greeted by the son of the owner and he checked me in. He was a very friendly guy and his English was great (my German is terrible), Apparently he is also a Michelin starred chef, as the quality of the food would reveal later on in the evening. When I got to my room - having to walk outside in the freezing German weather - I went to room 47. Hmmmm. Not too sure about this. I was in a loft space with a kitchen, unmade bed, and cupboard filled with cleaning supplies. Back down to reception. Got the key to the room I was supposed to have - 46, and things picked up. This time, the room resembled a hotel room, which is always a good start. The room was a little tired - only a single bed, old crappy TV, wood-chip wallpaper, carpet looked old. The bathroom was better - nice amount of space, very clean good sized mirror. My only complaint was that the hot water ran out on the first morning that I was there. Oh and I discovered that I only had a face towel to dry myself with when I got out of the shower. In addition to this, I felt like I was bitten a couple of times - not sure if it was from the room, but one of my fellow guests reported the same thing. One other little gripe - I hate those over-sized continental pillows that were the standard here - I am a tall guy and it does not leave much space in the bed for the rest of me when there is a three foot pillow! Now for the good stuff! The restaurant was fan-f*cking-tastic. The Veal Carpaccio with truffle and fois gras was supreme. The filet steak with peppercorn sauce delightful. The Pheasant was incredible. It was such an amazing menu, with so much choice - top tip, if you can read German, order from the German language menu not the English - there were far more options on there. The ginger creme brulee with berry sorbet was the perfect end to all of the meals I ate there and the wines were ALL to a very high standard. What a place!

It is directly on the river and has stunning views. We stayed in room #9 and it was super awesome. Roses printed in the carpet, red leather chaise lounges in from of huge windows and views of the water and town, which made it really romantic! The room had a HUGE bathroom which was upstairs and a giant sunken whirlpool jacuzzi tub. The bathroom made you feel like you were in a Roman bath house equipped with a shower and sink. Lush bathrooms that we lived in. It also had a separate room for the toilet and another sink. The staff is super helpful and friendly. We ate at the restaurant and the food is very good. We enjoyed the morning breakfast which had plenty of options. We were very lucky in that the monthly day market and night festival was going on. It was so much fun. Lots of vendors with local stuff to buy. They had a live concert and DJ beginning at 9pm and it went on until 1 in the morning. The hotel provided us with ear plugs as the concert is directly across the river form the hotel. The pub inside of the restaurant was very fun and they had a tv so we were able to watch the Olympics. There are trails just steps away that has beautiful scenery. The hotel has laundry service, restaurant, pub and a beach area with a bar. The owner, Hortence, is very nice, and provides an incredible continental breakfast. The highlight of my stay, excellent coffee, fresh rolls, meats and cheese. there is a big variety of seeds, grains and berries to put on yogurt. Make sure to be punctual, there is a three minute egg waiting for you.
